Phil 0 Posted August 13, 2007 Taking another step forward and now trying two color, outline text. Could someone give me step by step instructions for inkscape and signcut on how to do a two color, outline text. As always, thanks in advance for the help
BannerJohn 1,324 Posted August 13, 2007 very easy in inkscape. 1. Create your text 2.copy & paste so you have 2 copies 3.select ONE of the text,go to PATH,the OutSET..once or twice depending on how thick you want the outline 4.select all 5.go to OBJECT,select align and distribute 6.align horizontally & vertically 7.save as an .eps And there you have it. If you want to cut each seperately, make one of the other a different color before you outset.
customgraphics 0 Posted August 13, 2007 man that sounds crazy....having to do all of that to make a outline.........you need flexi....just click outline and adjust thickness and done......that easy
BannerJohn 1,324 Posted August 13, 2007 the flexi starter edition doesn't do outlines. the next version of Flexi that does outlines is,I think, about $700. NIce if you can afford it but I can do the outlines in Inkscapei in about 2 minutes. For the occasional use I have for outlines,it's a no-brainer.
Phil 0 Posted August 14, 2007 Thanks for the speedy reply. I do have a question on #4 though. Once I cut and past the second piece of text is in a different position than the first. How do I "select all"?
BannerJohn 1,324 Posted August 14, 2007 at the top, under 'edit'...scroll down and select all.
Phil 0 Posted August 14, 2007 Thanks again. Now I'll have something to work on tonight. I feel like I've been taking baby steps but I learn more with each step.
