PCut stalling

Recommended Posts

I have a PCut that is about 5 years old approx.  It has cut TONS of vinyl and used to run pretty much non stop all day 5 days a week.  Lately I have noticed that the roll feed stalls a bit every now and then while the cut head continues at its normall pace.  You can probably imagine what this does to the project being cut.  Could this be a stepper motor going bad or some other less mechanical issue?

are you sure that the feed rollers are stalling? I had this happen awhile back and what it was...on the back of the cutter there was a build-up of gunk...adhesive,that was catching the vinyl occasionally. I cleaned it off and no problems. It's worth a shot anyway.

Thanks for the idea.  The roller stalls even without vinyl, and even when I just hold down the feed button (down arrow).

I have yet to replace a motor on any Creation unit. I would replace the motherboard before the motor in this situaton.

Has anyone else had similar issues that ended up being connected to the motherboard?
