engs0062 0 Posted July 28, 2007 What is the best way to apply vinyl.............I am working with steel and applying the vinyl on top of that. Do I use water and a little soap, remove the backing of the vinyl, place where I want it to be, then essentially squeege the water out from underneath so the vinyl sticks to the steel? Sorry, very elementary but just want to do it right. Thanks Lee
BannerJohn 1,324 Posted July 28, 2007 I do the wet method on smooth surfaces.mainly to minimize bubbles. I've never done it on steele, so my best advice is..try a tiny bit and see. The wet method is more forgiving...that's the main thing.
engs0062 0 Posted July 28, 2007 Sounds good, thanks. The steel I am applying it to is smooth, as I sand and primer then paint the surface. I will try that next. This whole time I was doing dry and just cutting the backing halfway through and doing the top, then lifting up the bottom and laying that down
