Got my new Creation 630 and downloaded a trial version of Signblazer (Havent gotten my disk yet) any way, its a USB emulator problem I think?

Ive followed the instructs and inserted the cd with the drivers and everything went well (Using XP BTW) set the coms in the Device Manager and in the SignBlazer program. tried to cut a sample and nothing? The info gets sent but the plotter just sits. So I went back to the install dist and found a program called easy send, I opened it and two windows are avail and they both have a com selection box, so I set them to 3 like the others and the plotter sprang to life! all was well till the next day! tried to cut and again nothing? went back to the install easy send program and the com windows are reset back to com 1? but this time when I change them to three.......NOTHING!!

Help Please and pretend I know nothing about programming :)

I had the exact same thing happen with SignBlazer and my refine. First day it worked, next day nothing. I tried every com port until I found one that worked.I think that there was a conflict somewhere.Try every com port,1,2,3,4...every one. If that doesn't work, look in your computer device manager and see which com port is listed. You might have to change the actual number of the com port on your computer.

Ken might be of more help, once he comes in tomorrow. But I figured mine out just by playing around with it.

Well... The PCut is a new machine, so support by me may be limited.

but heres where i would start.

I suppose that the USB is basically a serial emulator like the Refine.  And you Think that this may be the problem?  If you think that this may be an USB confict I would start by looking in the device manager for IRQ conflicts.

I suppose that you started having problems after you had restarted your computer?

While in device manager, I would check that the USB/serial is using the correct port as your programs...

I have SBE working with the Refine and have had no problems and I dont believe I have any other programs installed that you do...

BTW banner, What driver are you using with the refine?  I myself could not get the Roland PNC 1000 to work right and now am using the RedSail Pro 720...

Turns out it was my computer. Before the end it would drop a USB or two and never see them again? turn off the machine and a different USB would start working....Got so bad in the end that if I changed the USB in devise manager then clicked on cut it would boot me back to desktop :)

I reloaded the program onto another comp and ran on USB #4 and all is ok so far EXCEPT now Im having problems registering SignBlazer that I bought over the net from blazer themselves???

Boots me to desktop if I choose anything but "Trial" :D

You can't just install SignBlazer on another computer. If you could,a person could just make copies and give them out to everyone. I think there is a provision for transferring the license to another computer,buT i can't find the info. I suggest you write to the Signblazer folks, explain the problem, and they should be able to sort it out.

Just to ask the obvious...you were ONLINE,right? YOu need to be online to activate.
