  1. I have the MH cutter and it started cutting in one spot. It will not cut a whole word, it just cuts letter over letter in one spot. Everything looks visibly ok. When I turn it on the carriage moves the length of bed. Can anyone help?
  2. I have a laserpoint 1 that I bought used about a year ago. I've been able to find parts, as scarce as they are, but I am unable to track down the pen holder. I've reached out to USCutter directly for other options and was told no such luck on their side. Anyone have one they are willing to part with or know where I might order one?

    Printable vinyl sticker?

I bought a package of Cricut Printable Vinyl which I am planning to use to create a sticker for a mug that will be used to drink tea. I read online a design on printable vinyl can smudge or wear off if it gets wet. I am wondering if there is a way to protect my vinyl sticker, once on the tea mug, so the design does not come off? The design will not come in contact with the recipient's mouth in any way. I read online that you can use modge podge to seal/protect a vinyl sticker. Should I use that or is there something else that is better?
  4. Hello! I just bought some Easy Weed from Siser. I need to cut it using my Cricut. What is considered the front and the back of the Easy Weed material? The vinyl seems to have a brighter, shine side, and another which is more dull and matt/flat. I need to know which is the front so when I cut it I put it in the right way Any tips? Thank you! Arturo
  5. Hello! I unfortunately don't have a Pantone Solid Coated color book right now, as I rarely need to color match to Pantone colors. However, I'm having some bad color translations from screen to screen, so I am looking to see if anyone could possibly color match 3M's Dark Red 483 (Mine is in my Commercial Solutions Swatch card, under Scotchcal 50) with a Pantone color from the Solid Coated Color book for me, please? I got in touch with 3M's tech support as they typically help me with my Pantone Color matches, but they said they don't have a code for that color. Thank you!
  6. I want to cut this for a friend of mine. How do I make the dog look similar to this instead of just one solid color?
  7. open some files and this messge shows up how do I fix it?
  8. Hello! New to the vinyl works. We have the greenestar outdoor vinyl and are wondering if that will work on custom coffee mugs and glasses? Only for hand washing. Please help me out!

    HELLO New to forum

Thank you for adding me. I am looking forward to learn from all of you since I am new to engraving but have been sublimating and using vinyl's for t-shirts and decals for 6 years. My biggest issue is finding out how I can either make an LED edge lit base or where I can purchase them at a good price.

    Vinyl not Cutting

*** Figured it out, Its the new software, not the vinyl*** Curious if anyone has encountered striations across the width of rolled Oracal 631 that don't cut properly? I suppose it could always be my machine or a software issue? But i suspect its the material. Issue: The striations are across the width, not down the yardage. It is also across the width of the cutter - not down the length of the cut (like might happen with an old cut strip or obstruction in the machine) The ghost of a cut is visible, but at weeding, I need to use the edge of a blade to get the cut to lift. I've been increasing my blade, but i'm cutting into the backing across the vinyl, except in these bald areas The striation is in a different place if i cut the file a second time. Seems to be happening at an interval of 4", 12", 4", 12"... but that's measured after the fact. Before cutting, i don't notice any issue. Little sketch is what I'm thinking is happening. Other Details: I'm using a Silhouette Cameo & Sil Business software newest V4. New Blade, Replaced Cut strip & Mat - still happening older vinyl. Purchased extra in Dec 2015, and didn't break into until now. Vinyl is used for a resist process since I'm using the negative and discard the "object" I use painters tape for speedy weeding, and a blade for tough spots or areas where the resist scrim are broken up. Ive been using this material & method for years over 100s of projects. Thank so much for your time and thoughts. I appreciate any feedback. Kgi

    Vinyl that Looks like paint?

I am working on some chalkboard signs and have noticed a number of people that sell them claim that their "decals" look like paint when they are adhered to wood or chalkboards. Does anyone know what that would be? Is it a vinyl or something else? I'm looking to create chalkboard signs without the chalk haha!
  12. hi, just got my titan2 today, and I was SO excited, and now im just frustrated. How do you get the vinyl to load STRAIGHT? i think its straight, I line it up with the front ruler, and the back ruler, but as it cuts, it starts to slide on over! the vinyl also keeps getting winked by the wheel/feet things.. whats that about?

    Vinyl Printer/Cutter

Hi guys im new here! I wanted to ask if anyone knows about any affordable printer/cutter machine to make quality stickers that comes with a easy to use vector program on the market I can look into. I plan on printing stickers for others but Im getting confused on what people use for actual smaller stickers with vibrant colors.

  15. I work at a college and have a SummaCut D120 vinyl cutter. It is mainly used for wall applications for student Senior shows in galleries and floor applications for directional purposes. I've been using the Oracle 631 for the walls and 651(I think) for floors and windows. Now our campus services has noticed that I have this vinyl cutter and they are asking about motor vehicle appliques. I have no idea where to begin... what type of vinyl is recommended? Is the application completely different? I'm wondering if this would be too much of a problem for my small office. Any suggestions you can give would be appreciated.
  16. Hi All- new here. I've been using (learning) on a Cricut Explore. It's been fine so far, but now I need to get greater precision on my cuts. Most of my shapes are 1-4 inches (imported as JPEGs from Adobe Illustrator) and have intricate curves and circles. I find the Cricut to be choppy and not as smooth on the shapes and curves as I'd like. The cuts are very consistent from one cut to the next - each time I cut, they are choppy in the same way- but I need smooth and precise cuts. Based upon reading, I think I may need a different machine. I'd appreciate any recommendations on the most precise cutters I should be considering (preferably 12" width, but not necessary.) Many thanks in advance!

  18. Is anyone aware of a decent wordpress or jooomla plugin that could be used for decal design? specifically looking for something similar to what the boat name websites use to design / order custom boat names? just something that allows you to pick from some fonts, and basic colors/outline etc and show a preview and then purchase it based on size. i've been looking with no luck and am surprised not to find several things. the only one i did find so far is almost too complicated and has too many features for different products.. need something simple!!!!!!! hoping maybe someone here can point me in the right direction. thanks!
  19. Hey y'all, It's Sarah again. Right now I'm cutting with the MH871-MK2, and it's done well for what I was doing. Now I'm getting into contour cutting (I have a designjet z6100 for printing) and need something with laser/optic eye for contouring... I found a greeeat deal for a USC LaserPoint2 that somes WITH VinylMaster.. It's 379.00. Now, I have a huge order coming due where I'm going to need contour cutting in small letters. Will that machine work and work well? I want to get a Graphtec, but until I get this order DONE, the money isn't available... so should I go for the good deal and get the LP2? I've read a little about the Titan 2 and 3 and honestly wasn't impressed... Also, is the LP2 stepper or servo?? Thanks! Sarah

    Favorite Chrome Vinyl

Hi Everyone, I have had a couple of customers express their interest in chrome decals. One in particular was looking into possibly getting couple of 3"x14" decals cut in chrome. I have worked with Avery Conform Chrome in the past but only with wrapping. Could I cut the decals out of that? If not, what Chrome vinyl recommendations do you all have? Thanks in advance!
  21. Hi all Long time lurker, first time poster. Looking at the possibility of a vinyl decal on a standard PVC card (like an ID card). I want to be able to protect the vinyl from getting nicked or peeling off as this would need to be a relatively durable outdoor use- basically disc golf league membership cards that hang on members golf bags. Am I wrong in thinking a couple layers of a decent clear coat would do a sufficient job for this application? And if this is an OK route to go, what are your recommendations for types/ brands of clear coats?
  22. Hello everyone I would like to organize my jobs easier now and I would like to do it by job number in vinyl spooler is there a way to rest the job numbers? thank you

    Printing window decals.

Hi. First of, forgive by bad english as it is not my 1st language. Im completely new to printing, well, except for A4 paper I am an engineering student with an eye for design, at least thats what people tell me. I like designing things for some reason I design webpages, gift cards, manuals, ads, brochures, signs, billboards, posters etc and I love it. Now I want to take it one step further and start to make som money but I have no idea how to start. I dont know what machines are used If anyone could help me out I would really appreciate it. I tried googling it and came over huge machines, bigger than my apartment that costs 200K+ and lost all hope but then I found something called: Epson Stylus Pro 9450. Its quite affordable, I can get a used one for about 1K. Is this the right printer for me? My main priority is to print store window decals/logo. Will this machine print on transparent adhesive paper? Do I need some special ink to counter rain and UV damage? Thanks
  24. Enjoy-- I know the original excel spreadsheet is out there, but i learned how to break it up to add htv and so i added a htv section using the same formula.Just in case someone new hasn't seen or heard of it before im posting it for everyone to take at the bottom of the post. For those who dont know how to use it here you go .. First-What this does is tells you all the info about your rolls you buy,It tells you how many sq feet, inches, yards may be in the material you bought and Cost per sq in,foot,yd and then the calculator side tells you how much it actually costs BEFORE LABOR to make a decal or design using vinyl and transtape if needed. I added a partial screen shot to what it will look like,The lower section( Out of sight) is the same but used for HTV vinyl. ----Any questions just ask and enjoy--- For those who dont know how to use it here you go .. PART 1 -Material info LINE A----Click on the box Name of Vinyl Roll and put as needed. LINE B- put the brand and size and width for reference Line C -where you bought it from. LINE D - Width of roll Line E- Length Of Roll Line F - Cost you paid for roll- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After adding the info above, the following Lines (G thru L )next will break the material into how much area in the vinyl there is- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Part 2 - Calculator Line M- Put in the length of your design Line N- Put in the Width of the design Line O- How many of the designs are you making, If its only 1 design you can leave blank or add a 1.either will work ,If more than 2, then add as needed. FINAL PART -LINE P - TOTAL COST- Once all info has been added- this final line will give you the cost to make the design. Vinyl Calculator Pippin Decals.xlsx

    Back Side Cutting

I find it necessary to cut the paper backing in order to more readily apply the vinyl once section at a time. Has anyone ever done this? Or similar to this? I can cut the paper backing but the vinyl itself on the bottom for the last cut stretches and tears. Are there any remedies someone can recommend?
