  1. This is a new one. I've tried all the laser offset tests etc but for some reason my machine still is not contour cutting what I need it to despite getting the blade perfect on the registration mark. I have a pixmax 720 and i have spent all day trying to calibrate the bloody machine. It cuts everything else out perfectly but when i contour cut. It's really frustrating me now! Any advice?
  2. I’ve have this Laserpoint 2 since July and you can go back and look at the issues I’ve had... my offset was never quite perfect, and the overlap was causing issues sometimes leaving little .2mm slices into the design that sometimes causes a catastrophe when weeding. Then I ran some simple rectangles and found out (after $30 of Reflective was cut undersized) that my scaling was off. On a 1” square it was off.. it was .96x.97”. It doesn’t seem like much but when I recalibrated it in the software, all the other issues went away. This should be a test you run when you get your cutter or you are having problems.

    Issues with Titan 2

I have an email in with us cutters right now, just waiting on a reply. While I wait I would like to find out if anyone else has been experiencing the same issues. I am not new to vinyl cutters, I have been using them the last few years so this isn't my first set up. I followed all the directions on start pdf too, just to be on the safe side. Up until last week I have been using a laser point 2, with SCAL3 e Now on with the problem. the machine is set up. I have vinyl master installed. correct driver is installed. I open an SVG saved from AI, try to cut and it does not cut correctly, it is 2'x2' and instead of cutting across the cutter it is making small cuts at the origin then spooling 2' of material and making a few small cuts and bouncing back and fourth. I cancel the cut try and rotate the image a few different times and nothing is working. I then say screw it and let it go. after about 8-10 minutes in the cutter starts to overlap the image and I have to cancel the cut. I try tracing the image in vinyl master and I get the same effect. keep in mind this is the same file I've used in SCAL over the past year on the laser point. I try all the calibration options in vinylmaster multiple times. I give up with vinylmaster and open SCAL 3. I load the Titan 2 into "my cutter" and bring up a SCAL file that I always use and know it to work on the laser point. The cut order is much better and it seems like it is cutting smoothly. The issue is when I go to weed my project there are gaps in some areas and overlap in others. I cut a second sheet before I picked the first, the second has the same issues however the gaps and overlaps are not in the same place. they are located in different areas. I am beginning to think it is the offset of the cutter or possibly the cutter is a lemon... I'm not sure, hopefully USC will fix me up and I can get back to business. If anyone else has any tips Please help me out. Being without my vinyl cutter feels very weird, and I have orders coming in that I have to refuse or have an extremely log wait time.
  4. Today I am cutting Vinyl lettering for a trailer. I am using Adobe illustrator to create my layout and then sending it to Sure Cuts Alot 3 Pro to cut on my Titan 2. The first file cut some of the text higher than the rest of the word. I decided to start all over with a fresh file and even arranged things a bit different. The same text is cutting out offset each time and then some are and some aren't. I created outlines in illustrator before sending to SCAL. Any idea why this might be happening? I have a customers vehicle here for install and need to figure out ASAP!
  5. I have been using a redsail cutter with winsign pc (importing from corel) however it packed up and aquired is pcut ct0630 the usb does not work so purchased usb to serial and run com 6 with buad rate of 38400. it now cuts. I downloaded a trial of sign cut (now expired) however on both programs the cut stops towards the end - i.e i cut 9 compressed gas signs in two lines (5 & 4) and it did not cut the last two "d" in teo of the signs. this ruins the whole sign as the letter weeded out so you can see the letter through the square. What i have had to do is click sort object and put some random text "test" at the end of the project so that it cuts "tes" and misses the "t" however i have completed signs. anoying but solved the problem. This problem has manifested in both sign cut and winsignpc (sign cut now expired and prefer winsignpc) However the quality is poor it looked like i had cut the letters out by hand - only a few have come out acceptable quality. I have just replaced the blade to eliminate a bad blade any help would be great
  6. So I've owned this cutter for over a year and a half now.. Have had a few issues but nothing I couldn't fix.. Recently the cutter hasn't been able to cut straight lines very crisp as it was a few days ago. Tried switching to 60 degree blade a few days ago and that may have been the issue, just switched back to the 45 degree and still having the issue. One source I found about these symptoms says to adjust the blade offset but I don't see that setting on the SC's control panel. Here are a few sample shots of what's going on.. Here's a shot from the beginning of the cut then towards the end of the roll it gets even sloppier: It really shows in the Es and the Hs.. Settings shown are 400mm/s speed and 200g pressure. Just oiled the blade holder as another tutorial said may fix the issue.. Thoughts? Thank you for your time!

  8. Working with the new Titan 2. Love the quite servo motor and great step up from the SC series, but I am still have problems with the o, d, R, meeting up. Leaves a sliver/tag and causes lots of work to clean up. Seems like a blade offset issue. I have adjusted the blade offset up and down, but doesn't solve the problem. Thinking it is a software issue. Any software recommendations that would solve the problem? Should I try another software? Any trial versions out there? Any ideas?

    a few tweaks needed..

hi guys, ive been using my refine-mh721 for nearly a year now and am generally happy with it, however, i need a few pointers to further enhance my cuts: 1: offset setting, i need the cutter to cut clean and not leave unjoined cuts, where is the offest setting/overcut setting? (im using coreldraw 12 to directly cut, but cannot find this offset setting) there is a 'bleed limit' in 'Print Options' > 'Layout' in the printer settings in corel 12, this is currently set to 0.125" - is this the offset?? 2: t-shirt vinyl gets caught up when the cutter moves to the furthest right position whilst cutting (close to the idle position of the cutting head) 3. anything over 3ft makes the cutter freeze up, whats the solution to this (ive been seperating cuts into smaller cuts for nearly a year to remedy this!) SETUP: Windows XP coreldraw 12 roland gx-500 pnc driver refine mh-721 cutter thanks for any help
