  1. After 2 years of avoiding updating my Silhouette Studio BE, I finally updated to the latest version. Ever since the upgrade I am not able to open SVG files that I created in Silhouette Studio. I am having the same problem getting them to open in my CNC software as well. The only place they seem to work now is on my Glowforge. Any help is appreciated.
  2. I like to work in inkscape. I have just started with the Vinylmaster with our new cutter and I have noticed that when importing SVGs, the text is missing. I am not doing anything complex and this was even with plain-old-arial at a reasonable size. Any other paths added to the SVG appear correctly. I'll probably dig in and see if there's anything I can notice but thought I would post here first. I also tried having the text with no fill but with a stroke and it didn't make any difference. Interestingly, if I select-all in inkscape and then paste into Vinylmaster, it works OK but I would like to be able to import correctly. I did try converting to paths but that resulted in some strange behavior with shapes inside of letters appearing in strange places for a couple of fonts. I'm not sure what that's about but I'll try and reproduce it and make a separate post on that. I also tried working with some artwork with cloned items. That didn't turn out too well (the cloned items did not appear and the item cloned from appeared in the middle of the document), That is an advanced feature though so I'm not too concerned about that. drawingdel.svg

So I am TOTALLY new at this....I literally JUST opened my cutter last night and installed the VinylMaster software that came with my machine this morning. So far I think I have the hang of it except I have a few font SVG font files that I have downloaded (for monograms). They installed perfectly and I can edit them in pretty much every way except I CANNOT weld the three letters. It either erases everything except the inside of one letter, erases everything, or just pretends like I didn't tell it to do anything. Please help! I'm sure it is something very simple that I'm not doing (or doing something that I shouldn't). I've tried Google, Youtube, and every help guide I can find and there is NOTHING there that has anything to do with my issue.....Thank You!

Is there an easy way to vectorize?

Hello, Is there a good software program that will vectorize images easily? I use inkscape and trace bitmap, but whether the "smooth" or "smooth corners" boxes are selected or not, the image always turns out funky.

    I made a website!

I have been working on making my own website to sell my vector images for use with cutters. It has taken ages bu has been fun, here is the result: www.craftyvectors.com I am still workng on the style and colouring as it is based on a pre made template from Shopify and I have lots of designs to add but it is tried and tested and working well. Here are a couple of files I have in the shop:
