  1. I did do a search first and didn't find discussions that were recent about this topic. If I want to print and cut corn hole wraps for myself and to sell to other builders, is the MH series an okay way to go? I'm not at the point where I can spend a few thousand dollars. I am buying wraps and building boards to sell, but at $50 a set average it eats into your profit. If I could buy a cutter for a few hundred dollars I could have it paid off fairly quickly. Also, I understand you can't steal others designs but is there a site where I can purchase designs that I can then print and sell? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks, -Richard

    MH Contour mod

Has anyone seen this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJmeXCeh7CM This guy never finished the kit but it is a great proof of concept. I can program so I wondered if anyone has any info on this. I would like to make one and open-source it. Any info would be great. I am just now getting my MH and didn't realize it didn't have contour cutting so I plan on modifying it.
  3. I got the MH series cutter for christmas and it has been nothing but a disappointment ever since....I am now in the process of looking fpor a new vinyl supplier as well....I just don't see any point in giving my business to US Cutter when they can't even produce an appropriate cutting machine... I would compare the cutting capacity of this machine to that of a cricut....It should be able to cut 48 inches wide by 6 feet long but it can not do it!!!
  4. I was 3 minutes from buying a new Silhouette Cameo when I saw the refurbished cutters that are listed on the USCutter site. I need some honest opinions as to the best purchase to make for the money and for my area of interest. I appreciate your experience and response. My primary interest is cutting rhinestone templates from Sticky Flock material but from time to will also want to cut adhesive vinyl (both for car decals and shirt applications). I have a Roland PC-60 that belonged to my brother that I have been unable to get to work with either of my laptops or my software programs; therefore, I am using the Silhouette SD. I currently own: Silhouette Portrait Cutter Roland PC-60 Silhouette Studio (SD) Designer Software WinPC 2012 Software Flexi Pro 6 Software Laptop (Running XP) Laptop (Running 7) Looking at the MH & SC smaller refurbs on site - they are within my price range. Will either or both of them work with the current software I have. I have only been able to design, import and cut on the Portrait out of SD. I am playing with the WINPC software but my Portrait will not cut from it. However, it is my understanding that WINPC will cut on the Cameo. That has been the main reason I was wanting to upgrade. I would much rather have the larger cutter for my price range - but need to make sure that I am able to continue to cut my templates on it with my current software. Also are rhinestones available in the included software (SCAL)?? Thanks so much for anyone's input. I want to make this purchase ASAP - but it needs to be the right one! Donna Redd
  5. So I just purchased a US Cutter MH365 14" cutter. I was aware of the limited 10" rough width of cutting area and was aware that you have to keep the jobs small do to lack of memory. This is not me complaining what so ever. I love the product for an entry level cutter. What I am doing is cutting 5" diameter decals for cars, etc. at this point and it's working perfectly. I was trying to stretch my use and go bigger, assuming I still needed to stay within 8-9" to stay within a small memory to work safely. I have been browsing the forum looking for an answer and didn't see any, so I ask- What kind of size jobs are people getting out of this machine?? Example. I was trying to cut a 8"X6" logo and it started to cut in an oppisite drection half way through and even cut a mirror image at one time too. I am using Sure Cuts for those that may ask. I am seeing a lot of users say to watch the static and don't use the USB (which I currently am still). I am early in this process and just curious to what this cutter is truly capable of so I have something to work towards.
  6. I am just getting into the vinyl business. I am getting my feet wet with a new MH Series cutter. I primarily wanted to do small vinyl decals (some non-intricate 2-color decals), and one to two color heat press vinyl designs for one-off t-shirts. I have had my share of troubles that others have had installing drivers, getting it setup etc. I've never been able to use the SignCutPro, it just won't cut right. I use SignBlazer, which seems very old-school/barebones, but at least my cutter works properly for the most part when I use it. MY PROBLEM: I recently tried to do a 3' long non-intricate design (basically a stripe for a window sign) and haven't been able to get a "square cut". The vinyl in my machine moves a lot and even though I tightened the springs on the clamps, I still find it moving from left to right as it cuts the lines. This happens too on smaller stuff where there is a lot of movement in the vinyl back and forth. I get the marks on the vinyl from the little wheels on the clamps, so I try to not use the center one when I don't have to, but it seems like whether I use all three clamps or just one on each end of the vinyl, I still get this movement issue. Additionally, I tried to do house numbers the other day and though everything was properly registered in my art file, when trying to place the one color set of cut vinyl numbers on top of the other color, they did not place exactly where they were supposed to (meaning the vinyl must have shifted a bit). Anyone have any suggestions here? I know I got an inexpensive cutter, but it seemed sufficient for my needs and it just feels like even though it is low end, that the vinyl movement shouldn't be such a huge issue and reason to buy a different/higher end cutter. Sidebar additional question, anyone have good tips/tricks for registering or placing registered designs on top of one another for installation? Thanks for the help/suggestions.
  7. The comparison guide says th MH series can only do a maximum cut length of 8 inches? I did a quick search and didn't find anything on the subject except one guy saying he was having problems with long cuts over 24 inches, which seems to contradict the comparison sheet...
