    HELLO New to forum

Thank you for adding me. I am looking forward to learn from all of you since I am new to engraving but have been sublimating and using vinyl's for t-shirts and decals for 6 years. My biggest issue is finding out how I can either make an LED edge lit base or where I can purchase them at a good price.

    Vinyl Printer/Cutter

Hi guys im new here! I wanted to ask if anyone knows about any affordable printer/cutter machine to make quality stickers that comes with a easy to use vector program on the market I can look into. I plan on printing stickers for others but Im getting confused on what people use for actual smaller stickers with vibrant colors.

    Vinyl that Looks like paint?

I am working on some chalkboard signs and have noticed a number of people that sell them claim that their "decals" look like paint when they are adhered to wood or chalkboards. Does anyone know what that would be? Is it a vinyl or something else? I'm looking to create chalkboard signs without the chalk haha!
  4. hi, just got my titan2 today, and I was SO excited, and now im just frustrated. How do you get the vinyl to load STRAIGHT? i think its straight, I line it up with the front ruler, and the back ruler, but as it cuts, it starts to slide on over! the vinyl also keeps getting winked by the wheel/feet things.. whats that about?
  5. Hello! New to the vinyl works. We have the greenestar outdoor vinyl and are wondering if that will work on custom coffee mugs and glasses? Only for hand washing. Please help me out!
  6. I work at a college and have a SummaCut D120 vinyl cutter. It is mainly used for wall applications for student Senior shows in galleries and floor applications for directional purposes. I've been using the Oracle 631 for the walls and 651(I think) for floors and windows. Now our campus services has noticed that I have this vinyl cutter and they are asking about motor vehicle appliques. I have no idea where to begin... what type of vinyl is recommended? Is the application completely different? I'm wondering if this would be too much of a problem for my small office. Any suggestions you can give would be appreciated.

What's the trick to 6-panel caps

Hats have been causing us so many problems. Anyone have tips for pressing caps (esp 6 panel where you deal with a seam thru your vinyl) this looks horrible... (see photo) cap: flexfit 63% polyester, 34% cotton, 3% spandex vinyl: siser easyweed htv
  8. Hi All- new here. I've been using (learning) on a Cricut Explore. It's been fine so far, but now I need to get greater precision on my cuts. Most of my shapes are 1-4 inches (imported as JPEGs from Adobe Illustrator) and have intricate curves and circles. I find the Cricut to be choppy and not as smooth on the shapes and curves as I'd like. The cuts are very consistent from one cut to the next - each time I cut, they are choppy in the same way- but I need smooth and precise cuts. Based upon reading, I think I may need a different machine. I'd appreciate any recommendations on the most precise cutters I should be considering (preferably 12" width, but not necessary.) Many thanks in advance!
  9. Is anyone aware of a decent wordpress or jooomla plugin that could be used for decal design? specifically looking for something similar to what the boat name websites use to design / order custom boat names? just something that allows you to pick from some fonts, and basic colors/outline etc and show a preview and then purchase it based on size. i've been looking with no luck and am surprised not to find several things. the only one i did find so far is almost too complicated and has too many features for different products.. need something simple!!!!!!! hoping maybe someone here can point me in the right direction. thanks!

    Favorite Chrome Vinyl

Hi Everyone, I have had a couple of customers express their interest in chrome decals. One in particular was looking into possibly getting couple of 3"x14" decals cut in chrome. I have worked with Avery Conform Chrome in the past but only with wrapping. Could I cut the decals out of that? If not, what Chrome vinyl recommendations do you all have? Thanks in advance!
  11. Hi all Long time lurker, first time poster. Looking at the possibility of a vinyl decal on a standard PVC card (like an ID card). I want to be able to protect the vinyl from getting nicked or peeling off as this would need to be a relatively durable outdoor use- basically disc golf league membership cards that hang on members golf bags. Am I wrong in thinking a couple layers of a decent clear coat would do a sufficient job for this application? And if this is an OK route to go, what are your recommendations for types/ brands of clear coats?
  12. Hello everyone I would like to organize my jobs easier now and I would like to do it by job number in vinyl spooler is there a way to rest the job numbers? thank you
  13. Enjoy-- I know the original excel spreadsheet is out there, but i learned how to break it up to add htv and so i added a htv section using the same formula.Just in case someone new hasn't seen or heard of it before im posting it for everyone to take at the bottom of the post. For those who dont know how to use it here you go .. First-What this does is tells you all the info about your rolls you buy,It tells you how many sq feet, inches, yards may be in the material you bought and Cost per sq in,foot,yd and then the calculator side tells you how much it actually costs BEFORE LABOR to make a decal or design using vinyl and transtape if needed. I added a partial screen shot to what it will look like,The lower section( Out of sight) is the same but used for HTV vinyl. ----Any questions just ask and enjoy--- For those who dont know how to use it here you go .. PART 1 -Material info LINE A----Click on the box Name of Vinyl Roll and put as needed. LINE B- put the brand and size and width for reference Line C -where you bought it from. LINE D - Width of roll Line E- Length Of Roll Line F - Cost you paid for roll- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After adding the info above, the following Lines (G thru L )next will break the material into how much area in the vinyl there is- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Part 2 - Calculator Line M- Put in the length of your design Line N- Put in the Width of the design Line O- How many of the designs are you making, If its only 1 design you can leave blank or add a 1.either will work ,If more than 2, then add as needed. FINAL PART -LINE P - TOTAL COST- Once all info has been added- this final line will give you the cost to make the design. Vinyl Calculator Pippin Decals.xlsx

    Printing window decals.

Hi. First of, forgive by bad english as it is not my 1st language. Im completely new to printing, well, except for A4 paper I am an engineering student with an eye for design, at least thats what people tell me. I like designing things for some reason I design webpages, gift cards, manuals, ads, brochures, signs, billboards, posters etc and I love it. Now I want to take it one step further and start to make som money but I have no idea how to start. I dont know what machines are used If anyone could help me out I would really appreciate it. I tried googling it and came over huge machines, bigger than my apartment that costs 200K+ and lost all hope but then I found something called: Epson Stylus Pro 9450. Its quite affordable, I can get a used one for about 1K. Is this the right printer for me? My main priority is to print store window decals/logo. Will this machine print on transparent adhesive paper? Do I need some special ink to counter rain and UV damage? Thanks

    Back Side Cutting

I find it necessary to cut the paper backing in order to more readily apply the vinyl once section at a time. Has anyone ever done this? Or similar to this? I can cut the paper backing but the vinyl itself on the bottom for the last cut stretches and tears. Are there any remedies someone can recommend?

    3D Text

I searched for this in Vinyl Master Users on Facebook, but there's not enough people there to be a good support team. And VM's tech support is non existent. So maybe someone here can help. I have VM Cut(US Cutter) at this time. What I want to do is maybe manipulate an outline or just make my font 3 dimensional. Similar to pics. Thanks in advance. 3CkPeJy5
  17. Help! I can not get the vinyl to come off of the transfer paper. I am using cricut transfer paper. It is doing it with glitter vinyl and normal. With the glitter I am using the transfer paper that came with it. I just mailed 20 decals to go on wine glasses any tips of how they can get them off?
  18. Completely new to the vinyl world. ive had my cutter for about a month and I am absolutely loving it. ive ventured into the heat transfer vinyl a little and made a couple shirts for me and my daughter. I just used an iron and it has worked fine. I'm starting to get interest from my baseball team and my daughters softball team for shirt orders. im not mass producing shirts with an iron. lol. so ive started looking at presses. im completely clueless on them. what are some things to look for/have to have/stay away from, etc? this wont be a full time business type deal. more of a side hobby for me and make a few shirts for friends and family type deal so I obviously just need a low budget one. I searched ebay and amazon tonight and checked out several different ones, but im not even sure what I am looking for. I saw several that were less than $100. seems like a no brainer, but didn't want to get one that cheap and it not have something I need or wrong size, etc. any help is appreciated, as I know there will be. this forum is a great asset, especially to a newbie. lol. another thing, what does everyone use for shirts? my first couple I did I just ran to the local fabric/craft store and paid astronomical prices just to try it out and was pretty happy with it. nice to have something local if I was ever in a pinch. ordered some siser easyweed and am in the process of making some work shirts for my dad with that. just didn't know if there was something else out there that was a little cheaper and still worked good or not. we all know even if its not a business, the more profit the better . so what does everyone else use or stay away from? just trying to get a little background on this stuff so I can at least pretend I know what im doing thanks again everyone!
  19. Hey y'all, It's Sarah again. Right now I'm cutting with the MH871-MK2, and it's done well for what I was doing. Now I'm getting into contour cutting (I have a designjet z6100 for printing) and need something with laser/optic eye for contouring... I found a greeeat deal for a USC LaserPoint2 that somes WITH VinylMaster.. It's 379.00. Now, I have a huge order coming due where I'm going to need contour cutting in small letters. Will that machine work and work well? I want to get a Graphtec, but until I get this order DONE, the money isn't available... so should I go for the good deal and get the LP2? I've read a little about the Titan 2 and 3 and honestly wasn't impressed... Also, is the LP2 stepper or servo?? Thanks! Sarah
  20. Question for anyone doing banners, only place I can find to order banner blanks that are already made to size is uscutter is there any other companies out there selling pre sized and finished blanks?

    Need help...

Hey y'all, My name is Sarah, and I've been cutting with the MH871-MK2 for about 1.5 years now. I love it, I really do, and it's done awesome work for me. I do vinyl decals, etc., for business and personal use, and it's never let me down once I figured it out! Until recently... I added heat transfer vinyl to my business for t-shirts and things of that ilk. I did a couple large designs, and my cutter did as expected, but when I try to do smaller things, especially letters, it literally chews them up. Edges don't meet, shapes are skewed, and the letters end up looking terrible. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm using Jet Pro Soft Stretch, so I know the vinyl is not a poor or low quality... And I've tried every combination of force, overcut, velocity, everything that I can think of. I would really appreciate ANY help at all, and suggestions, anything!! I'm at a loss for what to do... Thanks in advance, Sarah
  22. Question for everyone, looking to order new vinyl cutter. I like the titan 3 was torn between the 28" and 68" like the 28" price but don't want to be limited in the future on design sizes. anyways I saw on ebay they have a 54" cutter for sale for a really good price and that would be a good size for the me. question is was there anything wrong with the 54s and should I purchase a cutter that has no warranty like the one on ebay. Thanks for the help. http://www.ebay.com/itm/162057826790
  23. Hello everyone! I am not sure if this is the right place to post this, I was trying to find the correct subcategory for the MH871. I need some help. My cutter will not cut anything small and detailed. I am trying to print two sugar skulls, around 2.5-"3" wide and 3-3.5" in length but the pics below is what it's doing. I am also trying to cut text that's around 4" wide and 2.5" long and it messes up every time. The cut speed is 330, press is 150. I've tried on cut press 130 up to 170 and it won't work either. I've also tried slowing down the speed, down to 120. AND also tried it on two different brands of vinyl. Please help me!
  24. Hi All, I was going to take a crack at cutting some signage for my truck, are there any particular do's and don'ts? Something like: no goofy comic sans fonts only easy to read fonts only 'opposite colors' at least 3 forms of contact Telephone Number Email Address Website at least 2" high letters If my truck is ' Red Rock Metallic ' what would be a good 'opposing color' to make the lettering stand out? Last question Is matte or shiny preferred for vehicle signage? Thanks
