  1. MH721 28" Bought about 6 months ago Windows 8,7, and XP machines Latest drivers Sure Cuts a Lot Pro 3.053 USB (high quality cable) but I know, USB sucks. First month, machine was okay. It would close most cuts but sometimes would go on a fritz and start cutting all over my vinyl wasting 2-3 feet of vinyl. I stopped using the machine because of this but now recently I need to use it again. Settings are 50mm/s and 90 pressure. On standard Oracal Calandered white vinyl. Even when I use the machines "test" it will not close the cuts, at all. Leaving a good 1mm gap after each cut. Machine is grounded and I tried wiping down with one of those dryer cloths. Any ideas? I have been loosing my mind googling this.

    Im Such a Newb!!

Hey!! I'm completely new to this whole world of cutters, and I have a US Cutter Laserpoint II. I need some guidance with the SCAL Pro software (or if anyone can suggest other softwares to use with it). I've been trying to cut this "Paul Walker" quote, vinyl decal for my car, but every time i import an image and try to cut it, it's just a complete mess of overlapping cuts. Is there any way to make the image a solid image and not have all the little random cut pieces in it (if that makes any sense at all) PLEASE H E L P & Thanks!! -Reina
  3. I was thinking about buying a Silhouette Cameo, but before I did I thought I'd ask for some feedback and make sure I'm getting the right thing. I just saw that the USCutter store doesn't seem to sell Silhouette stuff but hopefully it's okay to ask this question anyway. I want to design, print out, and cut out a bunch of stickers - like a thousand. I'm not sure how many would be repeats, but let's say that there are no or very few repeats. I'd design them myself, and they'd be small - 1-2 inches long. And I'd stick them on the wall. And they'd require fairly intricate cutting. (I've heard Silhoutte's cutters are good for small, intricate work.) I'm not sure what I'd design the stickers - I made some prototypes in Adobe Illustrator, using a free trial. That worked well, but I don't know if I can afford illustrator. Maybe I could design them using Silhouette software. And then maybe I'd use Silhouette software to make the registration marks. I was thinking about printing them out on Phototex adhesive sheets, on a standard desktop printer. Anyway I'm new at all this, and don't really know what I'm doing, so I'm just looking for some feedback and advice. Thanks a lot!

    Vinyl Cutter

Hi everyone I am new here and have a few questions: 1. My rollers seem to be leaving marks on the vinyl. Is this normal or is there a way to adjust them and if so how? 2. How much vinyl is needed per cut? For example when the cutting starts the vinyl rolls in and out a few times and I can't seem to get it to cut at the ends so I am loosing a lot of vinyl. Any tips on this? 3. Where does everyone get their monogram fonts? 4. What settings should the cutter be on an dhow are those adjusted? I know the set-up guide said 500 and 100 but is this what the majority uses? Thanks so much to everyone reading this and hopefully I can help answer one of your questions one of these days!
  5. I have a USCutter MH1351 and am using Signblazer Elements. Machine worked fine for a few weeks but now the blade seems to cut the vinyl when moving from one letter to another, and it's the same issue with images. The first part of the text or image will cut just fine, but midway, about 10 letters in (no matter what the size of the image) the cutter doesn't seem to be lifting quick enough so it leaves a cut from one letter to another or through the image. I have tried a new blade, adjusted the blade, speed to the lowest setting, pressure, Baud Rate, paper guide tension, even tried using different software (WinPCSign) and still get the same issue no matter what I adjust. Any ideas what the problem could be?
  6. Hi, I was thinking on getting started my own sublimation business, but I'm new in all of this, I only know somethings about design; that's why I need your help and experience with the machines and materials to use. I really like this business packgae the price is what I can affort and I think have all the things to start (as I said I don't know a lot about it) http://www.uscutter.com/index/page/product/product_id/1980/category_id/2/product_name/USCutter+Decal+and+TShirt+Shop+Business+Package I found USCutter because a youtube videos, but if you have another companies names that I can use I would like to know. Also I want some help with the printer, the ink, and the paper I have to use, which brand of them are the best quality? Thanks a lot

    Newbie - Please Help

Hello. I have been researching different vinyl cutters for over a month now and still have no clue which one I should get. I have found that there are good and bad reviews on basically every company and every machine. Im trying to keep the price at $600 or less. I make (and sell) wreaths, signs, decorations, etc..As my business is growing I now have a higher need for a vinyl machine. I want a machine so that I can do my own customizing instead of having to get someone else to cut my stickers (Of names, quotes, etc) My husband is a sports coach, so I was hoping to also be able to make things such as magnets, decals, signs for his team Basically, I would mainly use the machine for smaller objects (20" or less), but I want to have the capability of making something larger (48" or so)if possible Another question I have is - (I hope this makes sense) Does a larger machine do just as well with smaller projects as the smaller machine. For example, would a 12" decal look the same if cut with a 54" cutter vs a 28" cutter? Would the lines/curves be as sharp? Any advice is welcomed! Thanks in advance!!
  9. I decided to buy a GraphTec ce5000-60 but just noticed today that there is a new cutter out there in the wild? The GraphTec ce6000! I checked the GraphTec site and couldn't find it. I did notice a small design change where the buttons and such are top, right vs to the side (right). Anyone have any specs or input on this. I'll hold off for a month or two before I'm buying. Hope it has better specs than 5000 because the price is about/is the same. I found the specs, plus I emailed GraphTec and they got to me with an email asking me where I lived so they can have the proper person contact me.
  10. I'm completely green to vinyl cutting. What I'm trying to do is create a template to be used to etch aluminum. What I am planning on doing is to stick the vinyl to the aluminum, then remove portions of the vinyl so that part of the aluminum will be exposed to the etching solution, while the rest of the aluminum will be protected by the vinyl. My question is which cutter would be best suited for making this type of cutting, and which software would I need/want? Just about everything I cut will be imported graphics. Thanks in advance!!!
  11. Just thought I would post this for all the people who were just like me.................dreaming, researching and trying to decide on a cutter to buy, the company to buy from, etc. I'm a newbie and just got started 2 days ago so I don't know much yet. The one thing I can attest to is that THIS company and the people in this forum have been GREAT so far. After reading, watching videos, etc I decided on the Graphtec CE5000 package deal $1695.00. I was amazed at all that I recieved with this package: Great plotter/cutter, 12 rolls of vinyl, Corel x3, clipart design software, x-acto knife, extra blades, 10 squeegees, application tape, application solution & spray bottle, weeding tool, another type of cutting tool. It is a sign shop in a box or 3 boxes! And....the FREE downloads from this site, Inkscape, Signblazer are amazing. As for support, I've had multiple people from this forum welcome me and offer help. Really made me feel great. And.....I called Customer Support at UScutter and actually got a human! Dave, I think was his name. He answered my question quickly and professionally. I may not get this dream off the ground but I do know I chose the right place to get started! Thank you UScutter and those that have helped me so far and those who will in the future. Jeff Bristol, Va.
  12. I am looking for a machine, manual or electric, that will assist me. I purchase bulk rolls of vinyl and cut them down into smaller rolls for resale, to be more cost effective for the smaller businesses. I am trying to find a machine that will allow me to transfer from the bulk roll to a smaller roll, and also be able to measure the smaller rolls. I carry approx 25" wide rolls and 15" wide rolls. The length is 25 meters, so they are not the huge rolls, and that is what I get when I search online. Searching for rolling machines gets me a lot of information about "cigarette" rolling machines... Thank you for any help..

    Hello from NC

I got my cutter a year ago, and finely just took it out of the box. Having a little trouble getting it going. I own an auto repair shop and plan to use the cutter for shop stickers and signs.
  15. Hey Guys I have been lurking for a while and doing research on cutters everywhere. I thought I had narrowed it down to a GCC 24 lx with contour cutting those are $700 with stand. But after reading this forum I know that I want a bigger cutter to do window tinting. My immediate goals are T shirts which I do now, small signs, window and vehicle lettering and decals/stickers. The SC and TC series have 50" cutters with manual contour for the same as GCC cutter. Should I just go as big as I can or go smaller but ARMS contour cutting and earn enough to upgrade to bigger with contour later?? I don't do a lot but I do want to be able to make full color decals and contour cut them if needed. Also watched the youtube vid of guy contour cutting with SC and TC models and his cuts were a good 1/4 to 1/2 inch away from the text using Flexi. Can you move the outline closer to image or text so there's not as much "outline"?? Matt

Change X and where to cut

I figured out how to make a few stickers and I am happy with how it comes out. I use inkscape and SB. Now when I got it to cut it is like 20" accross the screen and wants to pull it all the way back to cut. So I have to feed like 20" of vinyl through the cutter and it pulls it back to start. I am sure I just did something dumb and have a setting wrong. It did not do this before. I did cut something that was a little longer so that might have messed something up. This can be fun making customer stickers, but it does take some time pealing and pealing away. Now I think about that with my desings. Thanks for the help. Troy
  17. I am wondering what folks use as a backing material for cutting films that don't come from the manufacturer with backing materials? I am running a Graphtec FC8000-130 and I would like to cut a few specialty materials that are .0006" polycarbonate. These however don't have a backing material. What do I do if I want to run them through the plotter/cutter? Is there a material/adhesive film/transfer-tape-type-film that can be applied to substitute a "backing material"? TPD.
  18. I am pulling my hair out over this!!!!!!!!! I've been designing and cutting maybe a year now. I use CorelDraw x5 to design and export to SignBlazer for cutting. What's the problem you ask? When I import to SignBlazer there are nodes that are created that are not in the original and it takes me hours to delete them. I think that all my problems will be solved if I were able to cut directly from CorelDraw. I have an MH 721 (http://www.uscutter....es+Vinyl+Cutter) and a USB to Serial adapter cable (http://www.usbfirewi...rr-usb-017.html). How can I cut directly from CorelDraw. I have been trying to find drivers, install my MH 721 as a printer and I've got nothing accomplished. I've literally been trying to accomplish this for 3 weeks. I think I've read every forum here on the topic and have tried to follow them all to no avail. Can anyone explain to me from Step 0 to completion? I read responses here (http://forum.uscutte...ack-cut-direct/) and hope someone can help can help fix this My equipment: PC- Inspiron mini -http://www.dell.com/us/dfh/p/inspiron-mini10/pd Cutter - MH 721 - http://www.uscutter.com/index/page/product/product_id/1548/category_id/3/product_name/USCutter+MH-series+Vinyl+Cutter Null modem cable - http://www.usbfirewire.com/parts/rr-usb-017.html Scanner cable - http://www.amazon.com/Cables4PC-PRINTER-SCANNER-CABLE-CANON/dp/B000UWIGGS (not used when trying setup printing) Thanks
