  1. Hey guys, I recently purchased an 53" SC2 cutter and have been running into a frustrating issue. When attempting to align registration marks for contour cutting, the cutter will let me align the first mark like normal, and then when it asks to align point no.2 it advances way too far and my vinyl ends up on the ground. The sheet of vinyl im trying to cut is 35"x25", I tried printing it with much more excess on a 55" sheet of vinyl and it advances till its barely on the roller. After marking all 4 points the carriage slid all the way to the right / started making an ugly noise. Test sheet works just fine, cutting mat is the same size as artwork. Let me know if you have any thoughts, Thanks!!

  3. I have been cutting tackle twill lettering with my GCC I-Craft for a few years now and it works great, but every now and then I get an order for a vinyl cut piece. When that happens I switch back to my normal blade, adjust the settings, and do my cutting. The 1st cut always turns out perfect! Then I weed my vinyl and put fresh vinyl on to do a 2nd cut. Then it doesn't cut through the vinyl at all. I just see a very faint impression of where the cut should be. Even if I adjust the pressure to the fullest amount and do a multi-cut, nothing. I have no idea why this happens. I usually have to wait a day or 2 to try again and then the 1st cut is perfect, but the problem persists. Am I missing something? I have tried restarting the machine and the program. Reseting the blade in the holder. Changing blade holders... nothing work. Anyone else having this issue?

    Vinyl peeling, HELP!

I have seen some similar topics but nothing that is exactly my issue, so hopefully someone can help. I am having issues with Siser easyweed stretch adhering to sweatshirts. The Shirts are Gildan G185 ( I washed them first with a mild detergent, NO fabric softener, to eliminate the shrink factor). I pressed the easyweed stretch using firm pressure in my clamshell press at 305 (which I triple verified using an infrared heat gun) for 15 seconds. I let the vinyl cure for over 24 hours, and after washing inside out according to the instructions, I get wrinkling and peeling. I’m at a loss, and don’t know what is going wrong. Is it possibly that I shouldn’t use easyweed stretch on cotton blend shirts? I used the same vinyl on a polyester moisture wicking shirt and had absolutely no issues.

    Glitter Vinyl VS. the SUN

Hey all. Been awhile. Having an old issue that I am trying to solve again but thought I would post about it this time. Hopefully not to get bias answers again. I am in need of help for finding glitter vinyl to make glittery stickers (sparkly, etc however you want to name it) that will last outside in the sun longer than 2 months. LIving in Az, everything that is rated for the sun is cut in half however, I notice there are others with decals that have glitter in it that have lasted a few years on my friends cars that sit outside as well. The companies they have bought the stickers wont reply with the material used and so I am asking on here if there is a company or place to get glitter vinyl that will last in the sun? Currently using oracle glitter and have tried a few others but still it burns/fades to black each time after a few months outside :/ Hopefully someone can let me know of vinyl that works

    Need help re: stencil vinyl

First time using the Oracal 813 Paint Mask Stencil. Is it best to: weed and tape just like regular vinyl, then apply to the wall OR apply to the wall without mask tape THEN weed?
  7. I’m having trouble deciding which reusable stencil material I should purchase. I’m airbrushing stainless steel tumblers. I have a Brother Design N Cut cutting machine. I have tried low tack 4mil vinyl but it’s only good for single use. I’m looking for a stronger material that I can peel and stick, remove and RE-USE!! In other words, be able to return the stencil to it’s backing and use it again, later! Also, what teansfer material would be ideal:teansfer PAPER, or transfer TAPE? Or, something different? Your advice is greatly aporeciated!!

Small pieces pulling up! Help please!

Hi I'm still fairly new to this , originally I was using a 45 degree blade and I watched some videos and got everything good and have been cutting good for quite awhile but now I felt the blade should be changed ( not sure) so I put in a new 45 degree blade and ran a test which I thought was good . It cut the vinyl and didn't cut the wax paper but now it's starting to pull small pieces up here and there , I have had this happen like maybe 1 spot here in there no biggie but now I just got like 7-8 spots on my last 12x12 cut . Any ideas what I'm doing wrong n how to fix it.
  9. I have the MH cutter and it started cutting in one spot. It will not cut a whole word, it just cuts letter over letter in one spot. Everything looks visibly ok. When I turn it on the carriage moves the length of bed. Can anyone help?
  10. I have a laserpoint 1 that I bought used about a year ago. I've been able to find parts, as scarce as they are, but I am unable to track down the pen holder. I've reached out to USCutter directly for other options and was told no such luck on their side. Anyone have one they are willing to part with or know where I might order one?

    Printable vinyl sticker?

I bought a package of Cricut Printable Vinyl which I am planning to use to create a sticker for a mug that will be used to drink tea. I read online a design on printable vinyl can smudge or wear off if it gets wet. I am wondering if there is a way to protect my vinyl sticker, once on the tea mug, so the design does not come off? The design will not come in contact with the recipient's mouth in any way. I read online that you can use modge podge to seal/protect a vinyl sticker. Should I use that or is there something else that is better?
  12. Hello! I unfortunately don't have a Pantone Solid Coated color book right now, as I rarely need to color match to Pantone colors. However, I'm having some bad color translations from screen to screen, so I am looking to see if anyone could possibly color match 3M's Dark Red 483 (Mine is in my Commercial Solutions Swatch card, under Scotchcal 50) with a Pantone color from the Solid Coated Color book for me, please? I got in touch with 3M's tech support as they typically help me with my Pantone Color matches, but they said they don't have a code for that color. Thank you!
  13. I want to cut this for a friend of mine. How do I make the dog look similar to this instead of just one solid color?
  14. open some files and this messge shows up how do I fix it?
  15. Hello! I just bought some Easy Weed from Siser. I need to cut it using my Cricut. What is considered the front and the back of the Easy Weed material? The vinyl seems to have a brighter, shine side, and another which is more dull and matt/flat. I need to know which is the front so when I cut it I put it in the right way Any tips? Thank you! Arturo

    Vinyl not Cutting

*** Figured it out, Its the new software, not the vinyl*** Curious if anyone has encountered striations across the width of rolled Oracal 631 that don't cut properly? I suppose it could always be my machine or a software issue? But i suspect its the material. Issue: The striations are across the width, not down the yardage. It is also across the width of the cutter - not down the length of the cut (like might happen with an old cut strip or obstruction in the machine) The ghost of a cut is visible, but at weeding, I need to use the edge of a blade to get the cut to lift. I've been increasing my blade, but i'm cutting into the backing across the vinyl, except in these bald areas The striation is in a different place if i cut the file a second time. Seems to be happening at an interval of 4", 12", 4", 12"... but that's measured after the fact. Before cutting, i don't notice any issue. Little sketch is what I'm thinking is happening. Other Details: I'm using a Silhouette Cameo & Sil Business software newest V4. New Blade, Replaced Cut strip & Mat - still happening older vinyl. Purchased extra in Dec 2015, and didn't break into until now. Vinyl is used for a resist process since I'm using the negative and discard the "object" I use painters tape for speedy weeding, and a blade for tough spots or areas where the resist scrim are broken up. Ive been using this material & method for years over 100s of projects. Thank so much for your time and thoughts. I appreciate any feedback. Kgi

    HELLO New to forum

Thank you for adding me. I am looking forward to learn from all of you since I am new to engraving but have been sublimating and using vinyl's for t-shirts and decals for 6 years. My biggest issue is finding out how I can either make an LED edge lit base or where I can purchase them at a good price.

    Vinyl Printer/Cutter

Hi guys im new here! I wanted to ask if anyone knows about any affordable printer/cutter machine to make quality stickers that comes with a easy to use vector program on the market I can look into. I plan on printing stickers for others but Im getting confused on what people use for actual smaller stickers with vibrant colors.

    Vinyl that Looks like paint?

I am working on some chalkboard signs and have noticed a number of people that sell them claim that their "decals" look like paint when they are adhered to wood or chalkboards. Does anyone know what that would be? Is it a vinyl or something else? I'm looking to create chalkboard signs without the chalk haha!
  20. hi, just got my titan2 today, and I was SO excited, and now im just frustrated. How do you get the vinyl to load STRAIGHT? i think its straight, I line it up with the front ruler, and the back ruler, but as it cuts, it starts to slide on over! the vinyl also keeps getting winked by the wheel/feet things.. whats that about?
  21. Hello! New to the vinyl works. We have the greenestar outdoor vinyl and are wondering if that will work on custom coffee mugs and glasses? Only for hand washing. Please help me out!
  22. I work at a college and have a SummaCut D120 vinyl cutter. It is mainly used for wall applications for student Senior shows in galleries and floor applications for directional purposes. I've been using the Oracle 631 for the walls and 651(I think) for floors and windows. Now our campus services has noticed that I have this vinyl cutter and they are asking about motor vehicle appliques. I have no idea where to begin... what type of vinyl is recommended? Is the application completely different? I'm wondering if this would be too much of a problem for my small office. Any suggestions you can give would be appreciated.

  24. Hi All- new here. I've been using (learning) on a Cricut Explore. It's been fine so far, but now I need to get greater precision on my cuts. Most of my shapes are 1-4 inches (imported as JPEGs from Adobe Illustrator) and have intricate curves and circles. I find the Cricut to be choppy and not as smooth on the shapes and curves as I'd like. The cuts are very consistent from one cut to the next - each time I cut, they are choppy in the same way- but I need smooth and precise cuts. Based upon reading, I think I may need a different machine. I'd appreciate any recommendations on the most precise cutters I should be considering (preferably 12" width, but not necessary.) Many thanks in advance!
  25. Is anyone aware of a decent wordpress or jooomla plugin that could be used for decal design? specifically looking for something similar to what the boat name websites use to design / order custom boat names? just something that allows you to pick from some fonts, and basic colors/outline etc and show a preview and then purchase it based on size. i've been looking with no luck and am surprised not to find several things. the only one i did find so far is almost too complicated and has too many features for different products.. need something simple!!!!!!! hoping maybe someone here can point me in the right direction. thanks!
