I would love any ideas or feedback because I am sitting on a whole project that won't cut because my Titan Cutter can't read the registration marks through the glitter I had printed everything with the ARM registration marks.

  9. Hi all. We are new to vinyl cutters and having what seems to be a simple issue but can't fix it. We've searched this forum and other sites, have tried several things including adjusting speed and pressure. The problem is nothing cuts "clean". We can't get straight or curved lines or letters. Sometimes we will get a straight letter within a word or a single line in an image but have never been able to cut an image/wording where the entire thing is perfect (or close enough). As "newbies" I hope some of you more experienced people will have some advice. Thank you in advance! I have posted an image below which pretty much combines some of our issues into a single image.

Help With Wrapping a Tricky Part

Dear USCutter forums, Way too recently, I heard about vinyl car wraps for the first time. I'm not sure how I missed out for such a long time; but better late than never I guess. Anyhow, when I first found out about the idea of wrapping a car (or parts of a car) I was obsessed with the idea and knew that I had to try it myself. Being the cheap person that I am, I went and found the cheapest carbon fiber wrap material on eBay that I could. I knew that this was probably a foolish decision, but I decided to try it anyway. I also decided to wrap the side-view mirrors of my car before anything else. I knew this was also probably a foolish decision; but my logic was that if I could figure out how to wrap the mirrors, I should be able to wrap basically any other piece of the car. So here I am, a few weeks later. I've wrapped each mirror a few times and don't quite have the hang of it yet. I'm convinced it's not a material issue, but rather user error. I'll explain why in a second; but let be first show you what I'm trying to wrap. This is a side view mirror on a '97 Taurus, and it's turned out to be even harder than I though it was going to be. Below are a couple pictures of the mirror itself: I know the mirror is already (partially) wrapped in those photos; but now you know what I'm dealing with. A borderline nightmarish amount of curves. Here's the problem though: I know what you're supposed to do is pre-stretch the material, then shrink it back down to fit the mirror. I'm running into some issues with this. First, it doesn't shrink back enough, even if I stretch it lots initially (like 2x the original size, which would be considered "overstretching.") Also, as I try to shrink it; the vinyl start to crease in multiple places and starts to look like this: Although it can crease far worse than what is pictured above. Also, the reason I know that it's not a material issue, is because I recently ordered some 3M stuff thinking that it would solve all the world's problems. It didn't. It certainly did work slightly better than the eBay stuff, but I still ended up running into the same issues. If I try to stretch the vinyl around the curves while it's on the mirror, I just end up overstretching it. I've even stretched it so far sometimes that it's even ripped, but it still wasn't enough to get it around the curves. So basically, I'm having trouble getting the vinyl around the curves of the mirror. Pre-stretching isn't working, and stretching it around the curves isn't working either. What should I try? I feel like I'm missing something. If you guys have any ideas on how to wrap this particular mirror, they would be greatly appreciated. Maybe I just need to wrap it in multiple parts, but I'm not a huge fan of doing that if I can avoid it. Thanks again!

  21. Hey guys! My names Axyl and I run a small vinyl sticker business in Western Australia. Refine Pro-24 & Signcut Pro Last weekend my cutter started malfunctioning mid-cut. The screen is stuck on "Thank you for cutting!" And the actual cutting module keeps repeatedly bashing up against the side of the machine as soon as I flick the power on. I'm stressing out like crazy because I have a lot of people relying on me for business stickers and car vinyls etc. If anyone has any idea on how to fix this error, or perhaps anyone in WA, or even Australia can fix it. Even Refines contact details would be greatly appreciated. Thanks heaps guys! Axyl

  23. Hi there! I'm Christa, and I'm working with USCutter here in Redmond to revise the documentation for the LP2. I'd like to reach out to the community and ask: What do you wish had been in the manual but isn't? What do you think should be added to the manual? What's your #1 tip for using the LP2? Any other feedback on the manual? Thanks SO much!! -Christa

    Issues with Titan 2

I have an email in with us cutters right now, just waiting on a reply. While I wait I would like to find out if anyone else has been experiencing the same issues. I am not new to vinyl cutters, I have been using them the last few years so this isn't my first set up. I followed all the directions on start pdf too, just to be on the safe side. Up until last week I have been using a laser point 2, with SCAL3 e Now on with the problem. the machine is set up. I have vinyl master installed. correct driver is installed. I open an SVG saved from AI, try to cut and it does not cut correctly, it is 2'x2' and instead of cutting across the cutter it is making small cuts at the origin then spooling 2' of material and making a few small cuts and bouncing back and fourth. I cancel the cut try and rotate the image a few different times and nothing is working. I then say screw it and let it go. after about 8-10 minutes in the cutter starts to overlap the image and I have to cancel the cut. I try tracing the image in vinyl master and I get the same effect. keep in mind this is the same file I've used in SCAL over the past year on the laser point. I try all the calibration options in vinylmaster multiple times. I give up with vinylmaster and open SCAL 3. I load the Titan 2 into "my cutter" and bring up a SCAL file that I always use and know it to work on the laser point. The cut order is much better and it seems like it is cutting smoothly. The issue is when I go to weed my project there are gaps in some areas and overlap in others. I cut a second sheet before I picked the first, the second has the same issues however the gaps and overlaps are not in the same place. they are located in different areas. I am beginning to think it is the offset of the cutter or possibly the cutter is a lemon... I'm not sure, hopefully USC will fix me up and I can get back to business. If anyone else has any tips Please help me out. Being without my vinyl cutter feels very weird, and I have orders coming in that I have to refuse or have an extremely log wait time.
