  1. The one advantage of getting a Graphtec, is the software that Graphtec will bundle with it. It's dual platform, and has an Illustrator plug-in that's supposed to let you cut directly from AI. Admittedly, I just import my vector files into SignBlazer if I'm in Windows, or the Graphic Studio if I'm in Mac, and just use those two for cutting, rather than designing. I have a friend who has a Titan 2, and they love it. I have an original LaserPoint, still going strong, as well as a Graphtec CE6000 (just wish that I got that a lot sooner ), whatever you decide, I don't think you can go wrong with upgrading to a different cutter with a larger cutting width. Good luck, and let us know what you decide!

    A New Venture

Y-W. We certainly hope you get over the 'rona, that disease is brutal, I know (had it twice already). If you haven't done so, make out your will and leave the cutter to your best friend (kidding, but not kidding). I set my cutter at full blast 800mm, never had a problem. To me, it's a turtle's pace, as I have seen those higher-quality servo cutters running at 1485mm/s. I can't complain, however, because my work flow is not so jam-packed that I suffer because of the extra time these stepper units take to complete jobs. But, in general, time is money, that's a truism, and explains why many people feel it's worthwhile to spend considerably more on Graphtecs, Mimakis, Rolands, Titan 2 & 3, etc. and let 'er rip !!! By the way, since you're stuck doing basically nothing at home, here's a little (early) Christmas gift from me to you that you can mess around with using SignBlazer ---- https://www.fontspace.com/category/christmas,dingbats

Does Signblazer work with the new Titan 3 cutter?

Using SignBlazer...hate to change programs because I love it. Will it work with the new Titan3 cutter?

    Signblazer on Table Titan

Has anyone had any luck using SB on a Table Titan? I searched the forum and found a post about how to for a Titan 2 and I tried that and it seems like SB sent the "command" but my cutter didn't do anything I have done a test cut through inkscape so I know the cutter works , just really love SB and would hate to move on to SureCutsalot
  5. Ok, so I've read through all the threads about connecting a Titan cutter with SBE (I'm another die hard). I had it up and running using everyone's great advice and was thrilled. I went to bed after a long night's work and when I came back the next morning to get started, it showed the Titan as being "offline" in Devices and Printers window. Nothing I did seemed to revive it (unplug, replug, remove USB, plug back in USB, reboot machine, turn cutter on and off, etc.). So I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers. Whammo - seemed to get it back up and going again. Sweet. Fast forward a couple of days and I had the same problem this morning. So I go through all the same process again and now when I send a cut from SBE, I get a Windows error stating "Error Printing on TITAN-720i - US CUTTER Titan 24 The printer couldn't print SignBlazer". I am at my wit's end as I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, using a different computer, etc. etc. Any ideas from anyone would be a lifesaver as I have also spent a chunk of my morning trying to move a couple of my designs in to the Vinyl Master software that came with the Titan only to have HORRIBLE quality cuts from the vectorized images. Have orders that need to go out today so looking forward to your feedback. ALSO - would be totally willing to go back to another MH721 if that's all I can get to work with SBE. That's how much I want to keep using this program. I honestly wouldn't have even switch to a Titan from my MH if it hadn't totally died on me. ONE MORE THING - just to be clear, I am using a 28" Titan, I have my baud rate set at 38400 (same as the cutter), I am using USB port 1, and I have installed the drivers for the Titan from the USCutter website and installed as administrator. All of that worked before - none of it is working for me now.

TCP/IP and PORT for 15" TITAN?

There are other cutting softwares that actually do cutting path direction. Even the old Signblazer has cutting path direction. Or am I way off on your thinking? People were using the Copam driver for the Titan vinyl cutter in Signblazer.
  7. When you got your Ce6000-60, didn't you get a license for Graphtec Pro Studio? Hands down the best software for your Graphtec, Over a $1000 software. Then also try your Titan on different software. Can be used on the old Signblazer for free under the Copam driver. Take the Scalp software out of the equation. Also maybe make sure your blade depth is set correctly. With detailed jobs, you didn't state your speed, but you may want to to slow the speed down. I never cut fast. To start with, you should set your blade depth correctly, by taking the blade holder out of the machine, and firmly cut across a piece of scrap vinyl, you will be cutting. You should only be cutting the vinyl and barely a mark on wax paper backing, Adjust blade to get there, Then put the blade holder back in machine, and use the force of the machine to get there, same results, only cutting the vinyl and barely a mark in wax paper backing. You should barely see and feel the blade out of the blade holder. Regular sign vinyl is only 2-3 mil thick. You only cut with the very tip of the blade.

    Design Options

Is there a question, or is your question what design options there are for your Titan? You can pretty much design in anything that will either draw in vector, or can vectorize. Cutters will only cut vector images. What you design in could be a different software than what you cut with (CorelDraw, Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape, etc.), and then there are design and cutting programs (Flexi, VinylMaster, SignCut, SignBlazer, etc.) Every user here uses whatever they are most comfortable and proficient at.

    Cutting in sections

I have demos of each version of Vinyl Master. The tiling feature which you are referring to, is available in Vinyl Master LTR on up. You can also download the demos and check different features. Higher versions have more features. What do you mean that you can't transfer Flexi over? Why can't you run the Titan on the Flexi computer? Many were using the Copam 2500 driver to run Titan vinyl cutters. (at least they were doing that with the Signblazer software)
  10. Looking to step up to a shop series or professional cutter from an entry level/value cutter. I've got a 7 year old 24" PCUT that has gotten me by until now. I need a cutter with better cut quality, faster inches per minute without compromising cut quality and less noise is a plus. I currently struggle with precision, production time and limitations to jobs. I'd like to be able to do more precise images, produce more quantities and take on the larger jobs. I've exhausted fine tuning the PCUT many many times to still get disappointed with the cut quality with clean cut blades, pressure, blade exposure, offsets, speeds and so on. My budget is about $2K, lower the better. I've looked at the Titan series 1-3, Graphtec CE-6000 and the Mimaki in that price point. My main needs are to stay in the 24" cutter range, precision cuts, faster speeds, less noise and no need for contour cutting. I mainly use 651, and I'm the type to keep usable scraps for small jobs. I would like to be able to move the pinch rollers for that reason. From what I've seen in pictures, the roller positions are limited on the Titan series? Most jobs are small quantities and sizes but about once a month or so, I will have a bulk order request of 400+, detailed cuts and or large cut requests. Correct me if I'm wrong, I see that the Titan series uses VinlyMaster, Graphtech uses SignCut and the Mimaki uses Simple/Fine Cut. My question is, how is the transition and learning curve from using Inkscape & SignBlazer for 7 years? Are the programs easy to transition to and learn? SignBlazer files to the new programs? I'd like to hear some pros and cons and comparisons if you've had experiences with the cutters. If I missed anything, please chime in. Please let me know your thoughts to which cutter and why. Thanks!

    Why does this happen?

Many same drivers work for many different vinyl cutters. Some people use the Graphtec 50 for the newer Graphtecs in Signblazer. Redsail for the Refine. and many others. Roland PNC 1000 is a universal driver that can work for many different cutters. The Saga /TItan vinyl cutter runs on a Copam driver in Signblazer.

    Graphtec CE7000 improvements worth it?

You can download the Graphtec software right now, from the Graphtec site. No serial number required. Graphtec software runs on GP-GL language. Graphtec language, But you can use any other type of software, on the HP-GL language. I use Flexi software to cut with. You can even use the old Signblazer software. Many are still using it on their newer Graphtecs, because they didn't want to learn a new software when they bought them. I have never needed to replace any parts in 12 years and I cut almost everyday. Why pinch rollers? Your supposed to leave the pinch rollers up when not in use. On Graphtecs blade offset is ZERO. No need to change it. The biggest problems with people getting vinyl cutters, is they don't set the blade depth correctly. Too many are using this credit card or post it notes for blade depth. It is 10 times too much blade depth and just plain wrong. The correct instructions have been posted on this forum hundreds of times. And listed under the BLADE depth category. You may even have your blade depth wrong. FC8000 on up also have a dual blade holder position, so you can cut all the way thru, or perf cut the vinyl with out a carrier sheet. It also has a cross cutter blade to cut your vinyl off after cutting your design. Graphtecs are made with good quality parts, not like a Titan or a value cutter. Night and day difference. My cutter weighs around 86 pounds with the stand, which is also very well built. The FC cutters are on castor wheels.

    The Vevor

A while back, I helped a friend to set up a cutting studio of their own. The machine we went with is a Vevor 34" and since I'm just sitting around here with a few minutes of free time (aren't we all?!!) I figured it might be interesting to make a post that relates our experiences with that unit. Let's start with the original advertisment of the cutter --- it shows a configuration of grit rollers similar to the LP3 and Titan models. In other words, there are specific locations of the rollers, at spaced intervals across the lower plate. That arrangement is clearly visible in the pictures accompanying the eBay listing. (This type of setup helps to improve long-length tracking of the vinyl). The actual cutter that arrived has grit rollers all across the machine, similar to the MH and SC2. OK, next --- The LED illumination. This is an impressive blue light that has a separate on-off switch, if you don't want the light lit. The advertisement didn't show this feature in the photos and it came as a surprise (in fact, I didn't know there was such a light, until I wondered about a little button on the back and pressed it). Another thing was the media basket, included with the stand. Now, when you look at the picture, the first thing you realize is the vinyl holder (2 steel rollers) is mounted to the front. We did not assemble the stand like that, and put the rollers to the rear, as I'm used to. Onwards --- getting our first cuts. I did not install the supplied SignMaster (a version of VinylMaster) at first, and opted to just go with SignBlazer, figuring I could get this thing running with that. Well, it did operate (RedSail driver) but the cuts were off, leaving distinct 'tabs' on the circles (end of cut on circles not coming to the same point as the beginning point. Using other drivers (Roland, LiYu, Copam) produced the same results. I messed around with the overcut and offset settings, but couldn't get it right. So, SignMaster was implemented with the machine-specific driver that is included (There's a big yellow sticker right on the front of the unit that says use the D870 model when installing the software). Yeah, that resolved the problem, and the cuts were fine using it. Of course, that meant my friend had to re-learn the design software (she had been familiar with the workings of SBE and liked it). As a workaround for her, I showed how to do designs in SBE, export as .eps and Import to the S-M program for cutting. A bit cumbersome with a few extra mouse clicks and keyboard keystrokes, and she's getting used to SignMaster as she goes along. What else? The cutter is quieter than the SC2 I own. Still, it's a stepper motor, and as such, produces a bit of 'chatter' as it goes around. Overall, for $320 (including 'fast&free' shipping) this Chinese cutter serves the purpose (and is already paid for itself several times over). In my humble opinion, the US Cutter LP3 34" at $650 is a superior value overall. But, I guess that's comparing apples to oranges. Thanks for listening. Stay safe, stay home, and stay busy!

    summa D60 - any good?

I found the T140 user manual and it had a copyright on it of 1999. Many cutters can be ran on the same driver for many years. Did you try it? Many years of Graphtecs CE and FC are running on the same drivers. There are also some Roland generic drivers. In todays use, many people wanted to stay with Signblazer software, but they bought a Titan vinyl cutter. They are using the Copam 2500 in Signblazer.
  15. I have been using SignBlazer for a several hundred years (it seems like). It sucks I cannot get my Titan 3 to work on it so I am forced to upgrade this new program "Vinyl Master" to do everything SignBlazer can do free. I realize I can continue doing everything in SB and just import it into this VM Program. which is what I will have to do anyways since my files are saved in SBE rather then eps. (what a headache) hopefully someone has came up with an easy solution to this. right? anyway my main question is what upgrade do I have to purchase to get it to work like SignBlazer? I use almost all the features on SB ---F.Y.I If anyone says I have to purchase the DSR version I am totally punching the first person I see in the face I will really miss the workspace feature on SB as well as my customizable right click menu. Ps. Hello to all the "O.G." members on here, much respect for those of you who have continued to help everyone with becoming successful and answering tedious questions. Hats off to you, you have a big heart! -Much respect.
  16. ok first let me explain what I am doing,I am trying to get my titan 2 to work with signblazer and I know on my copam the baud setting on the cutter had to match with signblazer and I could adjust it on the cutter and on the signblazer set up page.It was always 9600 on the copam but on the titan 2 it is 38600 I think I matched that and still no ability to cut.I got everything set like on the thread I seen the setup of someone else who is using signblazer with the titan 2.I will keep playing aroumd I am sure I am just missing something

Hello guys, and a warm hello from Puerto Rico!!

Design software is really more about personal preference than anything else. Yep, that's why I stick with SignBlazer. Cartoon interface, but I like it. By the way, you can try calling USCUTTER and speak with a sales rep to work out a discount pricing deal on the equipment & supplies you'll need. Right now, free shipping on material orders (not machine) over $99.00 (vinyl, HTV, weeding & cutting tools, app tape, banners, magnets, coroplast sign blanks, etc.) You can also save over a hundred and fifty dollars by getting one of the REFURBISHED units they have available. https://www.uscutter.com/Refurbished-28-inch-TITAN-2-Vinyl-Cutter

    So much out there.

Your first order of business is to redo the graphics on the window and reapply them correctly, with improvements YOU create. Fonts are a world unto themselves. I've managed over the years with the standard set installed by SignBlazer (about 200 styles). Many people (including I) have used the MH profitably and successfully and US CUTTER brings vector plotting to the masses with their VM software partnership and offering the line-up from Mh to SC2 to LPIII. Upgrade to Titan? There's an old saying, don't try to fix what ain't broke.

    Titan 3 Cutting Issue

I have read that many times on here, where people didn't want to relearn a new software, with the Titan cutter and they were using the Copam on Signblazer. I have even told people that before, because that is what they stated they used.
  21. I am trying to cut a file in VM Ltr. where the letters are positioned to cut conserving space(less vinyl waste). What I'm doing is, cutting the DROP SHADOW portion of a file with 15" letters which I want at apply, then place drop shadow pieces separately. Will take longer but, can't figure out how to do this. Can this be done in Ltr. version (or Signblazer) with Titan 2 cutter. Any help greatly appreciated.
  22. Very disappointing though. Of course the 12th is Friday so that means I won't see it till probably the end of the following week... Yeah I've been wondering about the application tape (masking?). Do I need some kind of dispenser? Is that necessary? I'm sure my husband can build me one easily w a big dowel. And I need my work surface / table. I already downloaded signblazer and VM cut. I plan on buying VM Pro at that discount price of $299. But I can play with the other options first. Already read the Titan manual. There wasn't much to it. But I'll keep it on hand. Anything else you can think of?

    SB with Titan 2

My laptop fried last week, bought a new laptop and trying to get my Titan 2 to cut with Signblazer, seems I can't find right ports to cut with. Has anyone successfully made this switch? Otherwise, any tips how to transfer my files over to VM? I am not having luck there as well. Thanks for any help
