    Online vinyl lettering ordering?

im sure someone on here will cut what u need, we ship weekly. send me a message of what your wanting
  5. when I started shopping the us cutter reps were trying to talk me into starting with either an mh so I had the least amount invested in case I decided to get out or step up and buy a servo cutter. I needed a larger cutter so was out of budget at that time to buy a Graphtec the size of my sc I ended up with. im a 3 yr old newbie. so what ive learned is its pretty hard to use a stepper cutter or cutter that doesn't have features that a lot of the servo cutters have after using 1. now I don't know what your older cutter would have compared to the machines I have been using. I would say go with a used Graphtec ce model , I picked up a good cond, well kept ( knew the guy) ce-5000-60 . nice machine. I haven't used this new sc2, just my sc model. and can say doesn't hold a candle to the ce. a friend has and swears by the titan 2. new 800-$900 used ce 300-$600 is what ive seen. picked mine up in the middle of that.

    Setting Blade Holder Into Cutter

trying to pay it forward, I wouldnt know that info if I hadn't recently traded for a seiki and just set it up myself. almost every hobby I get in to I mess around buying/trading/ and selling. I always learn more doing that. my gcc the white marks the location where to put the pinch rollers.

    Setting Blade Holder Into Cutter

I can take a pic if needed, but this is how I square it up on this cutter and my sc cutter, because my seiki only has a ruler tape on the front of the machine, my SC isn't true going by the lines on the tape front and back. I guess it was built on a fri. old car biz joke. but who ever that put the tape on mine def didn't care about having it true. must be manufactured at 1 of the Chinese sweat shops . I take a little ruler and measure the vinyl from inside edge to the edge of vinyl on the cutter front and back of the cutter, then jog the vinyl back and fourth to make sure its running true.

    Setting Blade Holder Into Cutter

Maybe I can load and describe theses right. 1st pic - loaded vinyl machine off, pinch rollers go anywhere but in between the grit rollers where the white markings are at. pic 2 - power turned on, carriage moved to switch. pic 3 - current settings on screen. 4th Pic - pressing the leave button to move carriage manually to set origin on vinyl. '"ignore dirty hands, just finished putting on a set of brake pads" 5th - pressing button to move carriage to lest. 6th - carriage where I want to set origin. 7 th - screen showing carriage position. 8 th - pressing button to set origin position. I didn't have my comp with me to do a cut, but if not mistaken it was all set. all needed next was to hit cut in my software. im using scalps with all my other cutters, for some reason now my sc cutter doesn't like scalps anymore. if anyone knows anymore or better way than what I just posted, please feel free , I have no feelings to hurt, lol. like I stated in my other post, im not positive this is the correct way, its just the way I learned to do it. similar to my US Cutter SC model.. Ive only made 2 cuts with this cutter since I dn loaded the proper drivers and got it cutting. and again that was with the help of the great peeps on here. I think I would prob still be just cutting text if not for the help from everyone on here. now I can pretty much cut anything I want.

    Setting Blade Holder Into Cutter

no. you want to have slack in the vinyl, basically enough for the design your cutting versus pulling off the roll. yes, you set the origin to start on the corner of the vinyl you have loaded. like everyone has said it isn't supposed to dragging the side of the cutter. sorry I forgot to load a pic of mine with the cover off. I will go get some of mine loading vinyl and setting the origin, wrong or right its how I do it. lol

Trying to be a member of the family!!!

well im late to the game as usual. but yep, I wished I had went with those words. " buy as much cutter as your budget will allow" in my case being a comp and vinyl dummie I wanted a 53" to do my 1st sign in 1 pass. I didn't wanna try and tile . so I bought the sc model. the guys at U S tried to talk me n to buying an mh. what he was saying was to buy the cheapest budget cutter to get started, if I wanted to get deeper in cutting vinyl as most do, then I wouldn't be out much when I pushed the mh in the corner to collect dust. or if I decided it wasn't for me, wasn't a big loss selling on craigslist or letgo. whats funny is Ive noticed lately people selling used mh models for more than U S gets for a new 1, especially a refurb. but from what ive read on here from other users, the mh gives a lot of trouble. my sc somewhat hasn't. it came in damaged, either from shipping or when assembled. but since then other than minor things Ive cut a lot of vinyl since I bought it in 2016. the sc2 is supposed to a big improvement

    cutting mylar

"I do stencils in mylar on my xy-380 and have no problems. I'm sure it will cut on any machine. I get my mylar from michaels and use a 60 blade" I found where I read that, old post on here about mylar

    Setting Blade Holder Into Cutter

I def agree with darcshadow about the spring for the carriage since your saying its going back dn while on. gotta b an issue in there. I will take the cover off mine and post a pic. but since it was brought up, did u buy this used or new? if new how long u had it? us cutter had to send me a replacement carriage at the very beginning

    cutting mylar

Its been awhile since I read the info on which blade. im sure I prob have that incorrect too. I do good to rem what I did yest, which reminds me, what day is it? lol. when I started reading all the tips and tricks on here, plus getting 1 on 1 help from a couple of the members, I bought a tool holder for each degree blade. I will check the blade when I get home then do a test cut like I do setting 1 up to cut vinyl. just making sure it cuts all the way thru. thanx for all the help. this is why I didn't try to do a cut last night. I figured would get more info if I waited. I could just see it trying to do a cut and ripping the whole tool holder out of the carriage somehow.

    Setting Blade Holder Into Cutter

I thought so too. the reason why I mentioned it. I have the sc and the seiki at my house. so comparing the 2, 1 was dn and the other raised. the gcc is at the shop. so now im there and the gcc is sitting off with the blade raised.

    cutting mylar

yep, error on my part. 6 mil is what I have. should've had it in my hand while posting. just laid a piece of mylar on the mat and it really doesn't seem as thick as I expected. that was my next question, what pressure to start with. ive played around with setting my blade depth that I guess im at the very bare min sticking out for cutting vinyl. I had to move the pressure up quite bit from when I 1st setup my cutter. I prob have this 1 not set as shallow as that 1. so not sure if I should cut back on pressure or just let it ride and start a test cut

    Setting Blade Holder Into Cutter

I recently picked up a seiki, the guys/gals on here helped me get it setup to cut since it wasn't plug and play like all the other brands I have used. so they def have a lot more knowledge than me with this. 3rd yr cutting vinyl, I still consider myself a newbie. to get the seiki up and cutting I had to dn load the drivers for it. something I didn't have to do with US cutter, GCC, and Graphtec brands. they all connected auto to my cut software after selecting the brand. I will get a couple pics of my seiki carriage and post up. the carriage on my seiki stays up while off . I would. guess its the same height as all my other cutters. I use a ruler to square up the vinyl on the seiki and sc cutter. my seiki only has a measurement strip on the ft, the sc has 1 ft and back but they don't match. off about a lil less than a 1/4 in. the gcc has 2 strips on the ft. im going to set all the other cutters up this way. is the easiest for me. and I do the jog tip to make sure its running true.

did you get set up and cutting any mylar?

    cutting mylar

time to revive this 1. so I ordered cutting mats similar or maybe the same as a cricket/ hobby cutter uses, and some clear 5 or 6mm mylar. any tips of setting up to cut this? my concern is the thickness of a cutting mat + the mylar versus the thickness of vinyl. I can take a set of calipers and measure the difference if needed or do u just jump in and run it thru and hope for the best? lol I have an xtra tool holder I can put a different degree blade in. seems I read somewhere someone using a 60* blade for mylar and thicker vinyl

    Seike SK1350T 54"

I will what they are going for on there. I def understand that from starting out with a SC stepper. the higher end cutters def have features that are awesome, and would be even better for a beginner.#1 how I don't think with a Graphtec you can overcut off the vinyl onto the cutting strip. even the GCC cutter keeps from doing that . funny all the things you learn after starting out with a bottom end cutter.

    Seike SK1350T 54"

so whats this big stepper cutter worth? its in good cond, no real signs of wear & tear really looks like it hasn't been used. I know the guy I got it from never used it. he got it from a friend that was going to start doing signs but ended up having to sell out b4 even getting started. I got original full rolls of vinyl that he bought to start up. that's the story anyway. in my business I get a lot of stories. more stories than inventory

    Seike SK1350T 54"

never guess what happened after I finished the driver install...…… 1st cut with the seiki lol. so not sure which is louder, my SC or this T. Thanx to all for everything, after my last post I just realized I pretty much hi-jacked the OPs thread. I hope it helps anyone else trying to set up a seiki. ,

    Seike SK1350T 54"

all other cutters ive never had to add any drivers, just click on it on the list and start cutting. I will finish the dn load now. last night I started the dn load and fell asleep going on to step #3. lol 2. Run Open Device Manager 3. A Device Manager window will popup. 4. Expand the Ports (COM&LPT) node in the device tree if it has one; otherwise, continue.

    Seike SK1350T 54"

yes, on my version of scalps seiki is on the list of brands. when I click to add the seiki T series is the only model that comes up. the scarce owners/user manual that came with it has it as a 1350 T model
