Roland Color Camm Pro PC-60

thanx, anything else I should look for? I can tell u every area to look at when purchasing a used jeep. lol I usually never buy used equipment. I just figure this prob sold for a whole lot more new. and if its a decent machine maybe would worth the investment for me to get started into printing. still guess would need to find the best source for ink seeing most say thats what the exspense is in running this machine. -
I found this used cutter for sell. I see its a cutter and printer. did a lil online research, saw most complaint was for the cost of using it for printing and heads going bad. can anyone school me on this machine? ins and outs and what would be a decent price if its a decent cond and working machine. owner told me he never used the printing feature

so back on this subject with another newb. I went to the link dafont and dn loaded a few. how do I get these to vinyl master cut program for me to use

I may still have a comp that has windows xp on it.if not, guess that would def be a deal breaker. the guy stopped by my shop, when he saw my cutter told me had this 1, and that he had only used it as a cutter. he said he would take 800. I tried to do some research on it and most I found was about the cost of ink and use. was thinking it might be a decent piece for me to get started in the printing side of this -

new sc cutter carriage not moving the cutter blade dn to cut
cardudenc posted a topic in SC Series Vinyl Cutter Discussions
I posted on a few old threads, thought maybe would be better to start my own. just as I have now read on several threads on here my cutter came out of the box not working. 1st issue was the carriage was off track, after researching and fixing that issue and trying a test cut ended up with nothing. now after several hours of reading on here and google searches . checked and the carriage isn't moving the cutter blade up or down. just don't see any fixes anywhere. this is truly frustrating for a newbie. you don't know if its you not getting things set up correctly or the equipment. what a 1st experience. I now see why everyone says stay clear of these lower end units. -
new sc cutter carriage not moving the cutter blade dn to cut

I read on here for hrs. dn loaded the manual and any other useful info. the sign job promised is for the wife. worst cust. ever. lol. guess I should rephrase that, the signs are for our business together, we have 3 or 4 maybe 12 things going on at 1 location. I'm not going into this truly blind. its just been a long, I mean long time since I messed with something like this. so I figure its just best getting back into it to start green. I figure almost everything has changed and gotten better since me and a friend was making bumper stickers. also hve a background in cnc machining. but being older and rusty, it has def made for some trying times, especially with a faulty machine and a wife wanting the stuff done 2 weeks ago. I had made up my mind to start off with a laserpoint, a guy in cust. serv or sales talked me out of it. said start off with a mh then after I feel its something going to stick with step up to a titan 2 or if really getting into it something like a roland. I started to tell him my summer job after I graduated in 85 as a Mercedes, Porsche, and what my boss then called poor mans Porsche the vw tech. I still have the pocket screwdriver and pocket protector the snap on guy gave when I bought my 1st set of snap on screw drivers. lol still have those too, and they came with a cool snap on mirror. and yes, its in the man cave anyway, I cant ever go for the bottom, I always hit the middle if I cant afford higher up. now if I would've stumbled across the titan someone posted in this thread, that's prob the 1 I would've went with versus the SC in my jeep biz I have customers tell me all the time that " I know everything about a jeep" I'm the jeep "guru" and all kinds of things like that. my response is ... once u feel u know it all about something u just became the dumbest person on whatever it is. I learn something new everyday with all I mess with, which is about everything. " Jack of All Trades...... Master of None" -
new sc cutter carriage not moving the cutter blade dn to cut

Vinylmaster cut 4.0 came with it. I think that is my only option. call support tom. sure doesn't help with what I needed to cut this weekend. Just subbed out my work, from the price quote this guy dont believe in the "i scratch your back you scratch mine" business etiquette.lol I was looking at the laserpoint , now thinking that's def where I should've invested my $ I was wanting to spend on this education. was thinking I could get my feet wet with this sc then upgrade to either a more commercial model ( roland) or maybe something that was printer/cutter. wanted to get in and learning all the ins and outs before making a decision on that much of machine. -
yep, that's whats happening. 3 times in a row

Issues out of the box...
cardudenc replied to AlwyzMisUndrstd's topic in SC Series Vinyl Cutter Discussions
ok, I fixed that. now it seems the cutter isn't moving up or dn. I'm not getting a cut. tried putting the pen in, still nothing -
so after some google searching, the carriage was off track. dam, looks like could find a way to secure it for shipping. now it doesn't seem its moving the blade up or dn. of course I wouldn't plug this in until the weekend with no support available

Issues out of the box...
cardudenc replied to AlwyzMisUndrstd's topic in SC Series Vinyl Cutter Discussions
no answers for this? mine is just out of the box and the head or whatever you call it that holds the cutter is just vibrating -
I'm just now hooking power to the cutter. when turned on the head that holds the cutter just bounces
-
I finally found time to dn load the software that came with it. vinyl master 4.0 any recommendations? upgrades? add ons? hopefully tom will have some time to play around with the program and maybe even turn on the cutter and try and cut some vinyl
-
the titan 3 that is on sale. what wouldn't I be able to do with that cutter? the SC came in yest. expected it no later than sat. guess that's the way it usually goes. screws for the stand were missing and the software wouldn't load, I was too tired to do a whole lot, so I just put it in the corner for now.
-
I found 1 that they say was used very little. on paper it looked like a deal. may just wait to buy something better in quality
-
what you guys think about this cutter? pros? cons? uscutter/Copam 3050 42" not sure whats up with my comp, wouldn't let me paste the link hopefully sometime in the future will be looking into a printer/cutter combo. I just want to get my feet wet and learn what I can before dropping some big funds into this venture. I'm still dropping endless $$$ into the jeep biz. it only goes so far. lol
-
I didn't see that titan listed. being a newb, what can or cant I do with that machine? Is it worth me buying it or just wait and buy a lil more hi end cutter? Ive started shopping for a beginner heat press. some recommend the swing arm, others like the clam, which is best? I see everyone says stay clear of the cheap Chinese brands. ive been skimming nd not sure what I have been looking at as far as that. range was under $300. I haven't set a budget on a press yet still "just looking"

I didn't want to jump in too far until I get this figured out. I'm also moving my jeep shop to the area. I used to just build trailer queens, crawlers that weren't street legal had to be hauled to the trail. after my mom passed I had to make this hobby my job. so now I build whatever kind of jeep the customer wants. if its just bumpers or whatever. I called in to us cutter thinking about buying the laser point seeing it was the upper in their beginner cutters. I was trying to stay around 1k. the sales person told me I should start with the mh series. I kept researching until I felt like I made my self even dumber about this. I kept looking for a starter bundle that included a heat press ( thought I may do a few shirts for the 4wd club) but also needed a cutter to this 3ft sign. saw a 50" lp. only a cutter. I really wanted to start with a titan, but a 50" isn't offered. I found a bundle with 53" sc model . a heat press wasn't included. now after reading some on them I guess I'm better off , I think I'm better off buying a better quality press. so that's what will be here either tom. or mon. then I guess new stickers for the jeeps. lol

on the topic of a bad jeep. we are getting our 3rd this yr. 1st was a 2015 altitude edition wrangler. hard top had paint issues. Instead of sending me a new top they bought back the jeep along with all my mods. over 10k worth. then they gave me a nice disc. for my new jeep. so we ordered a 2016 Hard Rock Rubicon edition, the top is worse. they gave me more of run around this time, but in the end replaced it. The new 1 just hit the lot. will be picking it up next week. I just ordered my 1st cutter. guess I will get broken in on it next week.
