Please help- spliting and joining paths
bbekbekk replied to AmericanWarriorDecals's topic in Adobe Illustrator
Hey did you get this solved? I can make you a tutorial using snapshots with your own image if you'd like. It's an easy fix but it seems as though you want to know HOW to fix it yourself for any future instances that come up, instead of just having it fixed, right? I'll PM you my email address if you want to send the .ai file. -

I don't have coreldraw but thank you for the link I wasn't completely happy with how it turned out but he was lol. Here's what I ended up with -

Newb here, but won't be a one-hit-wonder lol... What's a .sbd file? I've never seen/used one before.
-
That's exactly what I was thinking as well... buuuuut figured it doesn't hurt to ask about this kind of thing thanks lol.

In my quest to always do the right thing, I have a question. First, the situation. I purchased a SignWarehouse branded graphtec (yea yea I understand this isn't their forum, but that's another topic). With my purchase was quite a few clipart CDs for "cutting". Upon further investigation, looking at the CDs some of them have this copyright disclaimer (image attached). I understand we don't print, but what does this mean? Why provide this disc with vectors to cut from if you can't sell the cut designs? Am I reading this wrong? Can you even legally advertise these designs to cut with a copyright such as this? Thanks for any input

Appreciate the help all! Primal - might be hitting you up then in the near future, I don't get too many requests for specific fonts but if I start to get more then I definitely will be looking into that subscription and will prob need your help .

Haha that's awesome, love it. Well I'm a gun toting hick-chick amateur bowhunter from WA so we'd get along just fine Anyway it's better to ask forgiveness than permission.. so when your daughter is munching on the amazing homemade beef jerky and asks where it came from, well... lol. Yea that's for sure! Definitely didn't want to start off on the wrong foot. I've been reading as much topics as I can since I joined but ya never know. Oh man that little summary is awesome! Thank you so much for taking the time to show what you did for the different effects.

I figured out the user error lol, didn't realize there was multiple .SVG formats and just saved it as the first one (inkscape SVG).
-
That's super funny! and yep I want to make a decal of the photo he requested, just might be adjusting a lil something something now.

I downloaded inkscape to play with, man the auto trace is pretty dang nice! I'm liking that so far.. but how do I save an editable image? I saved the .svg and wanted to open it up in illustrator (since I'm more familiar with node editing in that) but it doesn't show up.

Yea I just haven't been around long enough to know if hunting photos upset people here or not (mod can please delete if so). That's all I meant, but here's the current picture I was given. It's cut off on the bottom that kind of makes it look funny on a decal but it's a pretty clear photo aside from the face
