Graphtec Studio Won't Import on New Mac

When you import a raster image, you can use the image trace option to turn it into a vector. Doesn't always come out perfect, especially with text, but gives a good place to start.

Graphtec Studio Won't Import on New Mac

I've tried to look for import, no luck. It's the same program I've been using for years and I've always been able to file>open. I'm thinking it's a program bug with the new MacOs. Oh well, I can continue the drag and drop method. No biggie. Thanks for your input.

Graphtec Studio Won't Import on New Mac

Interesting! I did purchase it new and I'm a Windows girl myself, but my partner gets a new Macbook Air every few years through work that includes the full Adobe CC Suite, so was hard to justify the purchase of another computer. Something to think about though!

No, same Graphtec CE6000 that I've had for about five years now.

Graphtec Studio Won't Import on New Mac

Hi Mz Skeeter... Thanks for your reply. I have since found a work around solution. I can drag and drop any images into Graphtec Studio to make it work. Just find it very odd I can't File>Open them the same way I did on my last Mac. Didn't know if it was something simple I was overlooking. I appreciate your input.
  7. Hi all - Got a new mac (Big Sur 11.6.1) and downloaded Graphtec Studio 3.0.35. It will not let me open/import basically any files, JPG, PNG, etc... When I go to file>open, all files are grayed out. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling... no luck. Any help will be greatly appreciated... especially at this time of year! Thank you

    Geo Knight DC16

Hello all, I just purchased a used Geo Knight DC16. I noticed that it has a wire that seems to be duct taped in the front. Do any of you know the purpose of this wire? Also, it seems that the bottom platen is wobbly, I've tried to tighten it, but no luck. Is it supposed to be like this? The looseness seems to stem from the two silver rods. Thanks in advance!

    Torn up HTV

Thanks for your reply. I have a HPN Black Series 15x15 swing-arm press. I've checked the temps with a temp gun and they seem to be accurate. This is from an order of 28 softball shirts, all other 27 shirts are fine without any issues, so it seems strange that only one would have had a problem. I pressed at 310 for 10 seconds with medium pressure... then peeled.. and pressed for an additional 3 seconds.

    Torn up HTV

Hi - I recently had a customer return a shirt because she said that it was ruined in a washing machine. I have a hard time believing that, but just wanted to see if any of you have had similar problems. I attached a photo of the damaged vinyl on the shirt - it had only been worn I think a couple of times and washed once. It was made with Siser Easyweed. Have any of you had a problem that looked like this before? If so, do you know how it happens? Thanks in advance!

    HTV unrolling...

I was having this same problem. I have since discovered that if I roll the vinyl around the card board tube that it ships in, that helps it sit better on the rollers and keeps it there. I also throw some random things in the cardboard tube to weigh it down just a tad. It's a pain to roll it all onto the tube, but worth it when you're not picking it up from the floor.

    Htv vinyl on can koozies

I was wondering if any of you have tried strip flock on koozies? If so, does it hold up ok? Fairly inexperienced with HTV on koozies, curious to see how the vinyl will hold up on them.

    Cutter doesn't complete cut

Thank you so much for your help! I was able to dig deep in these forums and I found that the driver that I needed to install is not actually listed on the us cutter website, as it has not been updated. Once I installed the correct driver for Mac OS X Yosemite, everything is running great! For anyone with the same issue, the updated driver for Mac OS X 10.9 and higher can be found here: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm Again, I appreciate everyone for the help and advice. What a great forum!

    Cutter doesn't complete cut

Hi, thank you so much for all the replies! I am using SCAL Pro on a Mac Book that runs Mac OS X Yosemite. I have added an unnecessary line at the end of jobs, where it still leaves about a half inch uncut, just so I don't have to deal with finishing the cut by hand. That seems to work well enough for now, but just a pain having to add that and to reset the machine once the cut is finished and it continues to say "Now is cutting". I will have to check out the SignCut Pro software. thanks for the info! The designs are fairly simple. Mostly names and numbers for the backs of shirts. I have tried running one name to just one number and it does it no matter what. Yes, I am using a USB connection as I have the cutter connected to a Mac book. I'm not sure that I know what a KEYSPAN TRIPP LITE is, can you explain this further? THanks!
