  1. Like Skeet said !!! I suggest searching " Ken Imes " posts . He was USCutter in 2007 when I bought 2 Copams ( still doing GREAT ) . He suggested using around 200 grams of pressure which is way more than most suggest on this forum . BannerJohn also uses alot of pressure as do I . The bottom of my blade holder is polished and leaves marks on white vinyl sometimes, but the cuts are perfect .

    Outlining font?

Like Monkee said , make an outline the thickness of what you want the offset to be and weed that part .

    Outlining font?

Naa , almost everybody has done that . I click " view new content " and only read what section it was posted in when it starts to matter in the thread ...and when new members multi post the same stuff in many sections

    Outlining font?

Naa , usually posting a subject in the SCALPro section lets people know that . I have done the same thing as Joker before , but look at the stuff above the thread's title now ( USCutter Forum →Software Discussion & Support →Sure Cuts A Lot Pro ) BTW , I am a HUGE SB fan but I like the SCALPro outlining alot as it gives you the view right on that screens and I can experiement with multiple outlines/shawdows easier than SB ( offset and thickness ) . With SB , you have to redo alot while experiementing

Would like feedback on this job.

REALLY nice job and great business sense to give a cut-rate price for a regular customer . Any business person would know you did that in appreciation of the work sent your way . I dont do stuff that intricate or especially apply stuff like that , so I can't give a price reference .

    Cutting thru the image

Ahhh , I understand now . I knew what necro meant , but when you said " just happened " I didn't understand . It seems more like a ressurection . There has been many threads that had been dead for years and when a new influx of members join .. some reread much of the forum and comment on old threads . It is all good . Heck some subjects are so good .. they will be good to talk about decades later .. Just ask John ... He has declared several threads " The Thread that Won't Die "

    Web sites

I have been using Go Danica for 2 years now and am happy ( no phone calls ever ) . I started my website with Vista , but Chuck ( Ash Computers ) set me up where it only costs me around $30 a year combined . Reading this thread , i am going to check out the other sites . I would like an easier software to edit . I am using DreamWeaver now and never got up to speed editing after a problem that stumped me . I don't have much patience The question about website links in the signature ... seems to me there was a problem years ago and that was not allowed after the problem ( LONG story ) . It is allowed in your profile to the best of my knowledge and many members post it there .

    Gallery pictures ???

While I enjoyed looking at the boobie picture , it is strange for all those personal pictures to be posted in the gallery . Any other signifigance to anybody else ?? edit; the best picture was removed .... guess a change of mind ??

    Gallery pictures ???

Hey K-Licious ( starting to rethink my thoughts about you not being shy ) ... It was fun for me also ( killing you means fun ... right ? ) . I don't remember the pic i was talking about that disappeared , but it more " interesting " . Maybe a Mod took it down ( probably saved it for themselves ?? ) .

    Most hated Font --

It is in SignBlazer . I see Slice posted a link , but did not open it . When I used Vista Print for my website , they had a font called Comic Pro ... i like that also , but can not find it elsewhere . For personal stuff ... I switch back and forth with fonts in some words because of not preferring some letters .
  12. I bought a V Rod last summer . It was a 2003 100th year anniversary , special paint edition ( red with gold flames ) with 750 miles on it . It had forward pegs and my legs were not quite long enough . I was going to keep it until I got a $2K profit offer ( paid $8K ) . Sorta wish I had kept it . I bought a 04 FZ-1 for $2K and it rings the bell for me . I have a R1 , but it's riding position is too aggressive to ride casually , but what a blast to ride . I would look for a computer with a serial port . That way any serial to serial cable will work .

    Banner blank help needed

Hey Roxy , Nice to see you posting again and back . I have missed the fun . Sorta boring around here with many of the old gang either missing or inactive .
  14. What kind of bike ? I mainly ride a FZ-1 now and like it better than anything I ever have had . I started out with 2 24" Copams . There were no reserves on the e-bay auctions then and I won the last 2 without reserve . $406 and $412 . $100 shipping and $100 extended warranty each . I know they middle of the run cutters, but I can't justify buying anything better ( I have tried to convince myself , but had to be realistic ) . Radio Shack sells serial to serial cables for $15 .
  15. If you have/can find a computer with a serial port , that is the way to go . I suggest having a back-up for everything . You know the funniest part of " Murphy's Law " ? It starts out saying Murphy is an optimist

Slice, that news is so old , even cavemen knew that . It used to me my fav font until I found Cole Casual in the SignBlazer and it has been love ever since . Depends on if you want to " conform " to what is cool as viewed by others or decide for yourself ....

    Seaworthy vinyl

I made decals for a sailboat several years ago ( Blow Me ) with Oracal 651 for a friend . They roam around in the Severn River and the Chesapeake Bay . The water is considered brackish in the rivers . They are still in good condition . I give people the choice price-wise of what vinyl , hence longevity . Around here , the high end boats always get names painted . The other stuff use vinyl and get sold enough that the names change , so no need for the longer lasting vinyl imho .
  19. I think most customers take it too far .. especially when you have had about as much trivial crap as you want to stand . I have a friend who gave me this advice when i was having a bad time . he said " Rodger , don't worry ... things will go along like this for just a little while .. THEN get just a little worse " . I hate that he told me , but can't resist sharing it

    I need help vectorizing...

Everybody did help you ( well maybe not post #5 ) . You got everybodies experience . Might not be what you wanted . Requests get much more help when the member asking tries / Sure Cuts A Lot is not free , but VERY easy to vertorize ( they call it Trace ) . So E-Z a caveman or Bear can do it ...
  21. I was told by a VERY successful business man that if you find something you would do for free because you enjoy it that much and if you can make money with some aspect of it , you will succeed greatly . I understand the aggravation of futile conversations and job quotes , but I would rather spend time/money doing that than spending money advertising . Advertising would attrack those people/jobs anyway . I would much rather spend time catering to people than posting about it on a forum . It really depends on if 1 enjoys dealing with the public . I am sure everybody gets a belly full of the public at regular intervals , but it is part of this business . Sometimes doing cheap or freebies turns into a niche and that is what everybody needs imo .

    bad cut

Does it seem like the cutter is moving as if cutting the test cut correctly ? If it is , read up on blade depth and make sure the blade holder is it's holder all the way .

    Very Disappointed With USCutter

Atta Gal Skeeter !!! You are 100% correct and humorous at the same time . I also have a problem when people do not accept things as an adult . What is irksome to me is when they come on a forum owned and supplied bu USCutter to complain about an adult decision they made by buying from USCutter .

    Oracal 651 Question

How it was stored probably had more effect than it's age imo ( too hot and dry ) . I still have some 651 I bought right after buying my 1rst cutter 6 years ago . I use it for my personal projects with no trouble . I have a couple rolls that got flooded about 1' high amd cuts/weeds good . Like what was said , not enough money to worry about and easily tossed out . I would not use anything I think inferior for a customer , but I don't like to waste anything .
