  1. Here is a good tutorial that I gave a friend when he was trying to do the same. It is exactly the same way I do mine but I also include a bump layer as well for the waves. This is using photoshop. Link to the tutorial here Hope this helps!

ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR AND CUTTING MASTER 3 HELP

CS6 if it is the most recent Creative Cloud. Creative cloud is just a package of applications just like the master collection is.
  3. You are pulling fast. You need to slow down where the vinyl gets thin as the adhesive cant hold it as good as larger parts. Slow down and use your other hand to try and hold down the parts that come up as you pull. I have to do this often as many times the decals I cut are detailed and thin lines. Just pulling will normally pull the whole decal with it.

    Laser point

When connected via USB and the cutter is on >> Go into the start menu and right click "Computer" then go to manage. Then click on "Device Manager". It should populate with computer components that are categorized with expansion arrows to the left of the category names. Look for "Ports (Com & LPT)". If you see it, click the expanding arrow and state the USB port and COM number for the program to use. If you do not see it then the correct drivers have either not been installed or your computer does not see the USB device. Also you can disconnect the USB connector from your computer, look into the "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" category int he device manager, then plug in the USB and see if a new option appears or one of the options populate. That will inform you that the drivers ARE there but you have not setup the port connection yet. (usually done in the program you are using. ) Hope this helps.

    Transfer paper

As far as paper transfer tape. I have Main tape GXP 775 however it has the same issue of pealing at the edges without use even when you make sure to squeegee it out well. Noticed there is not a difference between high tack and low tack.. At least from what I have experienced. Seems they are the same.

    Vector help please

Spent a minute or two on it. Nothing crazy but basically, next time, what you will need to do is when you trace one part, you will need to make a new layer (Ctrl + 1 in SCAL) and then make the next part. Before cutting, click the eye of the layers you dont want seen so they are no longer visible and only what you want cut, to be visible. Hope this helps. I traced the images quickly so probably not as accurate as you would like but if you open in SCAL and look at the layers, you can remove pink or white parts before cutting. Hope this helps. dingydobopdohop.svg

Looking at buying an enclosed cargo trailer..

Hate to quote an older post and one that is kind of unrelated but I have been looking for a this exact trailer. 24 - 26 ft x 8 - 8.5ft wide, and enclosed but never ever have I found one less than $5,000 that is enclosed and never anywhere near the size that I want. You got one heck of a deal!

    Convert

I believe you can convert a Roland aaaand... a.. err... name left my mind on the other brand, printer for sublimation correct? Although you can use those cheap printable sticker papers from like staples or somewhere possibly local, they are not great quality (compared to an actual sticker printer/ laminator ). Unless I am wrong? Just what I have read when looking into it myself.
  21. Hello all! Sorry to bother again but was unable to find the answers I was looking for when searching. I have glitter vinyl that I bought online. Same seller that my friend buys from and uses. The machine I have is a US Cutters Laserpoint 2 24" (i think). 45 degree blade at 112pressure and 400 speed (some intricate stuff in the designs). 1.So my first question is does anyone notice glitter vinyl being more difficult to weed than normal calendar vinyl or is it just me being new? 2. When weeding, some of the decals are easy to weed while others seem like the blade didnt cut all the way through. Is this caused by maybe too much pressure, causing friction heat on the blade holder and making the vinyl thin out instead of cutting correctly? 3. The clear transfer tape I have is Greenstar High tack but the issue I am running into is that it is not grabbing the vinyl, even the small stuff. Its about a 75% chance it wont grab at all and 25% chance that it will grab some of it. Is there a difference of types of clear high tack transfer tapes that I need to use? Sorry if this are nooby questions but I do happy to be new and am using stuff that I got with the machine (except for glitter vinyl, thats new.). I did search but did not find the answers I was looking for. As far as blade depth etc, I always ALWAYS cut a square piece of the vinyl that I am about to cut and adjust the blade depth as tutorials have suggested. The first few decals pull easily but as I get to the ones that were later cut in the process, it seems to get more and more difficult. Maybe just me? Thank you in advance!

    Glitter Vinyl Questions & Issues

So as far as #2 issue goes. I believe it is true about the pressure causing the vinyl to heat up from friction of the blade holder and causing it to be impossible to weed when it gets to that point. Messing with the pressure settings now to try and find a sweet spot where I can cut the amount wanted where it is still able to be weeded but where further into the process, it wont be impossible. Too bad there isnt a pause command option in SCAL that can be entered instead of manually doing it. Another issue I am running into is people wanting a glitter sticker to wrap around something. I cannot find a glitter style vinyl that is able to wrap around something or stretch... Any ideas where I can get some. I know there is silver rainbow for cars but the two colors that were recently asked for were purple, pink, and green... Only stuff I can find is the 3mm thick which, when I tried installing it on the part, as expected, it bunched, bubbled, and creased. Not sure what to do for this. Even if to tell them to leave and what not, even I myself for personal stuff would be interested in this...

    Pinch Roller Confusion

Hello all... yet... again.. With another dumb question that I actually found the answer too this time but does not make sense or in other words, is incorrect I guess you can say. So my question is... where to place the pinch rollers so the vinyl wont shift as much. Its not really an issue when doing smaller vinyls about 24" or so wide but more of the long wise where the vinyl moves a lot, the vinyl seems to shift a little. I knew about pinch rollers when I got the cutter from reading on the manual but they didn't work or at least, the instructions are not very detailed and seems to be missing a bit of information on how to place them correctly. This is from the Manual PDF So this is not how I have had it all this time. My rollers have been on the errr... kernal rollers (under the white marks) I think they are called (bottom, controlled rollers) and it works great but when following the instructions, the vinyl cant move. Just doesnt grab and if you put the pinch rollers too close to the kernal rollers (The name of them for this post) then it will just bind and basically ruin the vinyl. A guy on another forum that posted before said that you have two pinch rollers on the kernal rollers and one pinch roller offset but that also wrinkled and binded the vinyl whether I put it on the open plane or near a kernal roller... So my question is... where do you place them correctly? Again, this is something that only becomes an issue when doing long decals or close to the edge decals. Otherwise, not an issue. As always, thank you in advance and again, sorry for these dumb questions!

    MH-871 MK2

How long do you let the printer sit on before sending it another job? My cutter, if I leave it on when I got back to my computer and work on something, it will do the same. Kind of like a sleep mode maybe. Usually happens if I leave it on about 20-25 minutes or so. Not an issue for me but not sure if your cutter is doing the same? As an IT guy and in simple form. Did you try turning it off and back on and attempt to have it cut something then?

    Pinch Roller Confusion

Perfect. I appreciate it! Glad I have been doing it correctly. ^ I apologize if I typed it wrong in a previous post but you would be correct. Laserpoint ii 24". Btw, (regarding previous post) working on a stand currently. Dont think I ignored you. Interesting info. The Laserpoint has each knurled roller every 8" except for all the way to the right where is has two about an inch apart from each other. Though not a high end machine. The instructions were in the Laserpoint ii support section so I assumed it was for that specific cutter. little did I think it was universal. I apologize. Thank you everyone for the help!
