Interesting. I always wondered why they didn't make everything go lower. Though I think this must be location only because I didn't lose a call or have any signal issue other than the normal low quality service I normally get. And I have Verizon.

Will do. Living in AZ, definitely a good way to test how long they last when the temp is almost always 100 degrees and never any clouds.

I have seen this but again, no color options. Only silver and gold available. The time waiting isnt an issue because it is for my own use. Thanks though!

I am having some difficulty understanding the difficulty. Are you trying to find an easier way to align the two together or just the cutting itself? Sorry for my misunderstanding.

It is that but that is the silver rainbow which I have been able to find along with gold rainbow but I cannot find it with red, blue, purple, etc colors. This is it and even in the purple color too which is perfect. Odd sizes but works perfect for me. I have searched rainbow vinyl on ebay but it would always come back with gold or silver rainbow instead of colored. Thank you tons! Thanks everyone !!!!

Some computers have just enough power to make it work like mine. I have an 18ft USB extension cable and my computer can make it print but if its more than one sticker or something, itll stop. What you have to do is get a USB.... (Name just left my head... one sec...) USB Hub. there we go. That has an external power supply so the information can make it. Hope this helps.

Hello again all. I seem to be having a bit of a difficulty applying large decals on more round surfaces. Most hoods and door panels I have worked on were rounded but only vertically rather than horizontally. Recently I was working on a car that is more ball rounded instead of one direction. When applying the decal, it would crease from trying to bend it against another bend. Was wonder how you all get past this. The decal ended up folding in on itself and I scrapped it. Normally when applying a decal that is large, I tape opposite sides down and peel off one section to make sure it stays where I want it. Then when the one side is done, I will do the other side of the decal. (Works great for doing wall decals too). As for applying long decals, does anyone get many bubbles when applying the decal even though when the transfer tape is still over it, doesnt exactly show the bubbles? Not sure how I keep getting them when doing bottom sides of cars. Gets quite annoying really. Thanks in advance! I apologize as well. - Taunt

Issue with applying large decals on round surfaces
TauntDevil replied to TauntDevil's topic in General discussion
I will try 751 next time. I have a ton of 651 because normally I just doo 6-12" automotive decals but everyonce in awhile, someone wants something big. What about keeping the transfer tape from having a hard time and forming? Going to try Rtape next since I am running out of the tape I have (cant remember brand etc since it was free). Tried Rapidtac before but out here, it evaperates very quickly. The dish soap stays wet a little longer so far. Works pretty good. Takes a little bit to dry but when dry, sticks great. Definitely dont want alcohol. When first making this stuff, did that and same issue with Rapidtac, evaporated quickly. Thanks for the help everyone. Now just need to find some holograph colored vinyl and purchase some 751, should be good to go! -
Issue with applying large decals on round surfaces

651 and water with dishwashing soap. Have to spray a lot down in order for it to last long enough. I have tried this before but living in AZ, its about 101 currently. The heat usually makes it more difficult to peal the backing paper off so I have noticed. If I remember correctly... Heat = stick more, water/colder = stick less right? -
So if I am correct, you are trying to get the outline to be inside and outside evenly? Correct? Like outline inner and outline outer? If so, for doing decals, would be better to just space out the letters and shrink them, then do a outer expand of the outlines since doing it in the center will keep a center line from the below layer unless you merge by removing front or back.
-
Go to Object>Path>Offset Path (Or Outline Path). Thats after the font is changed to paths themselves which if you dont remember that. Click that layer and its Type>Create Outlines

This makes me wonder. Does the 651 colors even last the full 5 years outside in direct sun and heat? I know the glitter vinyl says 3 - 5 years but only lasts a few months

Looks awesome. Though the space between the nine and the dash in the second image bothers me that the spacing is not the same spacing as the dash and the one before it. But thats a nit pick. Looks like awesome work! -
Mind sharing the file you are trying to import as well as maybe a jpg of the design to get an idea of how it looks and what the outlines look like, etc? I think it would help us best to help you with those. Otherwise, I would say in Illustrator to check your lines (Ctrl + Y) to see what is being used for cutting. Hope that helps a bit.

I'm glad I don't live near enough to have to compete with this guy...

I watched some of them. Many I was amazed on and some I already knew but the turn out was awesome. I am amazed that in this video itself, not using any special tools that he was able to bend the metal straight without a lot of angle to repair. Also love the idea of the christmas lights. Good cheap way to light up a "Sign" when its temporary. Smart. I'm going to have to try this one of these days. -

Wow. Mind blown on that. -
Wow, thats pretty awesome and pretty good price as well. Kind of makes me want to buy it and modify one to hold a plasma cutter to make a cheaply made plasma table since ours at the shop costed around $11k to make.

Interesting. I have an old craftsman airbrush that came with a mini compressor and all. Was quite expensive. Been sitting in storage for a long time.

I believe he is looking for the graphics that are on the car itself.

Not to thread jack or anything but to relate to "performance" shirts. What material is used for the shirts that you cant really feel the graphic on? Or are the shirts made from the beginning with the designs?

4050 won't turn on(-ish)
TauntDevil replied to JasonAlan's topic in Copam Cutting Plotter Support Requests
Have you tried turning it off and then back on? Nah i'm kidding, +2 for calling support. Sounds like maybe the powersupply is dead. Usually they have a fuse in them but would call support before taking apart anything -
You could of also stretched the text Vertically from the center of the circle then masked off the circle to get rid of the extra. Basically deleting everything outside of the circle.

For what it is and cost, it doesn't seem really like it does enough. For the price and size, I would expect it to also vinyl cut, and in the end, lay transfer tape over it so the user just has to cut the sections and that is it. My guess is it uses vacuum suction to grab the vinyl and pulls up on it. It also seems risky where you dont know if maybe the vinyl might peel up with it or not. Doesn't exactly have a way to know if it needs to stop or not so sharp edges, etc may be more of an issue. Just my $0.02

Was curious what you meant by "Small". Thought you meant size wise. Good job!

If it already has the hole things on the side (sorry, tired and cant remember correct names for the banner holes), then using string and two bags of water, tie the string on one corner of the banner, go through the handle of one of the bags and back to the other corner of the banner and tie it there. Then have the bag hang off the side of the table to basically pull the banner flat. Can do the same to the other side or have something holding it onto the table. Hope this helps somehow.
