    lay vinyl stencil on paint,

I use Oramask 810S or 813 stencil vinyl. I like the 813 better, but that is just me. Depends on the vinyl, thickness of paint and are you air drying or force drying? What paint? Acrylic enamel, Urethane or laquer? Is it a single stage paint or base coat/clear coat paint? Assuming you are air drying and you are using acrylic enamel, depending on what reducer you are using (fast/medium/slow) you are probably looking at 4-8 hours to be safe to use low tack mask vinyl. I usually paint and then let cure overnight if air curing. Force drying, I can start in an hour. If you are using flakes or pearls, add a little more time to it. You don't want any tacky feel to the paint. If you apply vinyl to paint that still feels tacky, you will make a mess when pulling the mask vinyl.
  2. Interesting, but I tried it with an image that I had difficulties in Paint.net's magic wand cut tool and I ended up with pretty much the same results.

    Looking to get into Sublimation..

As far as I understand, the R is Ricoh printers. I've been using the Image Right for Epson and it's been working great. I've used it on T-shirts, key chain blanks and mouse pads and only had one issue, but it was my color profile that was the problem. Oh man, I looked. And it's dangerously affordable. The problem isn't so much the money on this one, as it is the space. I'd have to do some heavy rearranging. LOL!

    Looking to get into Sublimation..

I didn't even know about sublimation. I came here checking out vinyl info and looking for info on Illustrator. Then someone posted about cups. Then I got curious about the cups. It was all downhill from there. Wait. What is hydro graphics?? Nevermind. I don't wanna know.

    trailer hitch covers?

I've been looking at these (because I live in the land of loggers and commercial fishermen and almost every other house has a pickup) and correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I understand, you heat press the image to a plate and then glue the plate to the hitch cover assembly? Correct? I've been trying to figure out if I go with these, what is the best glue to use? It seems every place I checked, there are several different answers.

Under Armors Band of Ballers shirt..

Unfortunately, it's not taught. They spend more time on preparing for state tests, than being taught real information. Most kids couldn't tell you what that is from or where it was. The thing to remember with creativity, is that it is open to interpretation. While one will see one thing, another will see something entirely different. I would suspect that a younger person who had no understanding of its meaning may have made that image and had no idea it would create any controversy. It's interesting that it has caused an uproar. And only because the internet spreads things like wildfire. If you found it offensive, then here is a list of other "parodies" of that image that you might find offensive. Were the companies that produced those boycotted or blasted because the images were offensive? No. And then there is the question.......As someone who produces products with images, has there never been one that you didn't look at and ask yourself, "is this one pushing it?" We've become a nation so bent on being politically correct, that we will sacrifice any creativity because someone might find it offensive.

    design placement ?

Yes, you need to wet it to see if the image is going to hold without washing it out. Am I right?

    Whiskey or rock glasses?

Some of the guys are asking about whiskey glasses for imprinting. I looked around and can't seem to find any. I'm guessing they are 8 oz or 10 oz. Anyone have a source?

    Go-C Graphics

Slice and dice? I'm thinking the heat will be too concentrated to pop the kernel, that it will just cut through it.

    can you vectorize this?????

Check Pixabay. A lot of usable images under the search of "roadster" or "classic car" Maybe you can find something you can use there.

    Whiskey or rock glasses?

Yeah, it's looking like I need to get that Dyepress pack and do my own whiskey glasses. Sometimes you gotta do what folks are asking for. These guys want the "rock glasses" or whiskey glasses. They aren't into shot glasses, they want something they can put ice and Johnnie Walker in. Cause I know these guys, they won't let up until I get them what they want. I had one guy pester me for a year about painting a polar bear on his Harley split tanks. I tried getting him to take it somewhere else, because I was swamped. He waited. And it looks like the glasses I'm looking for are about $6 each. And once I get the Dyepress, then I gotta figure out a wrap for them. Might have to custom make something.

    Go-C Graphics

So awesome! But now you're just being mean. Question though. How long did it take the laser to do the graphics on the acrylic?

    Vector help please

Can you upload the file you are cutting from? Clarify, cause I may be missing something on how sure cuts a lot works, but are you cutting one color, then cutting another color or do you have a cutter with print capabilities? The others more familiar with sure cuts a lot may know something I don't.

    Reverse reverse reverse

ROFL!! I get some mouse pads and was all excited to get one done. So I print it out, carefully get it all lined up and press it. When I pull the paper off, it's beautiful!! And backwards. ROFL!

    First sublimation. Be gentle.

So in checking my black on a few of my images (specifically my BAT logo), it is clear that it wasn't really black. Replaced the ugly black with RGB 000 and it's way crisper (is that a word?). Thanks! I'd have been blaming the printer, ink, paper and everything else I was doing wrong way before I'd have given any consideration that it was the color on the image, but it's very clear that it was the black in the image.

So here is the first cup. The Black isn't as vibrant as I'd like, so it looks like I need to get the profile right. 2nd cup. A little better on the colors. I changed some things and the black is coming through better. Phone isn't too well on the pictures though.

How do you keep up stock?

I bought a case of mugs from Conde and just realized today that it doesn't take long to run out of cups. I'll blow through those mugs in no time at all. So now I have to think about another order and since I can't very well make an order for less than $100 (well, trying to convince the wife that), so I'll have to add stuff to get to that $100. LOL! And it's amazing how when I have to talk to my wife about this, I become "The Negotiator". LOL! Well, I'll make this much and buying enough mugs is this much. And oh yeah, I should probably get some mousepads and did you see the pet tags? They aren't that much. Why does she always give me that look like I'm in trouble? The good thing is, she can't resist my charm. ROFL!

How do you keep up stock?

Oh I'm sure they'll let me order less than $100. The question is, am I capable of ordering less than $100? ROFL! Too many sparkly things. When the boss lady let's me buy things and says, you have $100 to spend. Then when I get done, she asks how much did you spend. $100 Right. How much did you really spend. Uhm......$120? "Mhmm. You're a dork." ROFL!

How do you keep up stock?

Yeah, but I didn't start this for an income. It's a "hobby". LOL! I showed some of the guys I do tanks for and each one of them is like, "Make us some." I haven't even got this down yet. "I don't care. Make us some." Ok, but I gotta charge you. "Which part of make us some didn't you get?" $25 each. "Ok, now you're pushing your luck." ROFL! Well, I tried.
  22. dirtrocker

    paper size for cup paper?

For those of you using precut paper for the mugs, what size options on your printers are you using? Are you choosing a custom size each time or using something like letter size?

    First sublimation. Be gentle.

Thanks guys! I also had the wrong profile set up and went and watched the video on Cobra and corrected it. Hopefully, I'll get a chance to get a couple more mugs done tonight to see how it comes out. One thing about it, if I'm gonna learn, might as well make the mistakes now. ROFL! Edit: So if I have svg/eps images from Inkscape, will I have to re-do them in Corel to correct the black or will changing the default black setting correct it? And is that in all version of Corel Draw? I have Corel Draw 11.
