With x2 all I had to do was click on an eps file and it would automatically open up in SignCut, just like an mp3 uses iTunes or Media Player. I only used Illustrator if I needed to design or mod something. Now when I click on an eps file it goes to a "Open With" window box and SignCut isn't even listed as a useable application. If you click the browse button you can usually set a default program but it won't even let SignCut open up this way. Oh well, quite an inconvenience but I'll deal with it. Thanks for all your (and Therese) help, it's most appreciated!

Skeeter, going from Illustrator to Signcut is exactly what I'm trying to do. I don't have the "FILE> sent to SignCut" option though. That's what I'm trying to solve. EDIT; FOUND A FIX ON GOOGLE... PRO'S PLUGIN WAS NOT PLACED CORRECTLY, GOT IT WORKING! Another problem that has just come up from switching from x2 to Pro; My eps files do not recognize the new program as an application that works for cutting. I have to manually open the program then "FILE>Open>" and manually select. I can't just click on the eps files anymore.

Thank you both for your help! I have upgraded from x2 to Pro and downloaded the exe file from the link provided by Skeeter. However, when I open the file I get the "Open File" window with the "Run" button. Upon clicking "Run" I get another, smaller window that prompts "Unable to find Adobe Illustrator CS5 Installation". I tried it with the installation disc in the drive but that did nothing. Thank you again for your help and if you have any more advice that would be great!!

I just upgraded to CS5 and downloaded the "SignCut_CS5.api" file to export from AI to SignCut (I'm running x2, if it matters). I have the file set up like this: "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CS5.1\Plug-ins\Extensions\SignCut_CS5.api" It shows up in my "File" tab and as option Shift+Control+1. However, whenever I select either option it takes me to a "Save As" window and will not export. Is this because x2 and CS5 are not compatible? Or do I have the .api file in the wrong folder? I also tried it in the "Illustrator Formats" folder but got the same result. Thank you in advance for any advice!

Thanks Ben! I actually continued searching and sourced up some decently priced sign blanks from http://www.stonehousesigns.com/ . They were quickly-responsive to emails, helpful and very friendly. They can custom order so I had exact sizes made to my preferred specs. They also do bulk discounts so the more you buy the more you save!

Does anyone know a good source for plastic parking sign blanks? If not plastic, how about a good source for aluminum signs that already have rounded corners? I've found a few that want you to buy their $200+ corner-rounders... too much for my budget! Thanks in advance for any info given.

First off, sorry to bring up old threads but this one has been helpful to me! Billy, My wife wants to transfer some of her photography in black onto a stretched canvas. Will the Thermoflex (regular) adhere to it? It's not completely smooth, it's your typical painting canvas that comes from Michaels or Joannes. Also, will Thermoflex go on efficiently with an iron? Hey everyone, My first vinyl order consisted of six colors. Since I got my order and cutter I've used and applied all six colors. However, black does not want to leave it's backing. The application tape (EnduraMASK perfect tear) has no problems adhering to the other colors. The vinyl I'm currently using is Oracal 641 Economy. Did I get a "bad" roll of black or is this common?? Any advice on what to do, I've already wasted a few pieces and I don't want to waste any more! Thanks in advance!!

Thanks Tater. I followed tommyschloss advice from a similar post and was able to get my logos going. Also realized that the signcut program is in mm's rather than inches... Holy buckets, I got a lot to learn still though!!

Setting up the machine - no problem! Setting up the software - few problems, all worked out! Using the software - I have no clue what I'm doing. I've been trying to figure out signcut X2 for 4 hours and I cannot get anything accomplished. I got the refine MH721 primarily for my business (banners, marketing, signage) and I cannot even cut a jpg of my store logo. I cannot figure out how to adjust size. Reading all these posts about how new, first-time users are making stuff in 2 or 3 hours time makes me feel kinda stupid! Is there anywhere to go online for a really good how-to? I'm feeling pretty discouraged right about now.
