The new SCALP 4 is ready for Ai .. If you just bought the scalp 3 recently, you can get 4 for free with serial, just send craftedge an email explaining you just got it and they should send you a link to download the new Scalp4 and include the serial.Thats what i did and i got it for nothing.

I just upgraded my SCALP 3 to SCALP 4 for free and what a difference .I just got my new cutter titan 2 and the Scalp 3 about a month ago so i wrote them and told them i was not aware of the new version coming out and wasnt happy how SCALP 3 was so laggy sometimes and the next thing you know i get an email with my new serial for SCALP 4 Pro fully activated.. I was excited and the new features are amazing ,even the ARCH text feature is 100% better and so much easier to use and many many added features that just rock.....But beyond that, i, having a issue now even before i did the upgrade. So im hoping some one can help,I can no longer import my svg into my Scalps when its created in Ai.This started happening after my scalp 3 was upgraded last week before i knew of the SCALP 4. ive tried reinstalling the plugins etc but i cant send to scalp thru script or import svgs now..So im hoping a smart brainer has a clue for me .. But the SCALP 4 is just awesome...SSOOOOOOO much EASIER AND BETTER TO WORK IN AND AROUND INSIDE THE PROGRAM..

Ok, I got it going so far..Knock on Wood ,,,Is there a way to reset Ai To Complete Default ? just in case there is a mess up somewhere?

Sorry if i missed the info in another thread or post, but trying to find an exact answer isnt easy when there is so many questions being asked differently etc.I tried searching other posts for what i need help with and made comments in other posts and im not getting anywhere cause either someone doesn't use Ai Or Scalps together and i cant find anyone who is using these 2 programs as 1.... For some reason i lost my way of creating a text with and without an arch (Half Moon ) in Ai and saving or exporting it correctly to scalp. The last few tries when i save it as a SVG and bring it into scalp, i have nodes overlapping each other which will cause cuts to over lap instead of being a merged text image,When i worked in Ai before and saved for a svg to bring into scalps i had no problems, but now i am... , So im hoping a Ai and Scalps pro will please explain the retarded steps for me . I just seem to lost my mind for a second. If someone would be able to create a video on this ,I would be willing to offer a 5.00 Donation to your paypal lol ..

I use Ai CS6 Easy. And Goose that might be what im doing wrong is using the merge but i thought i was using it before with no problems, but maybe cause i go from scalp and back to Ai all the time i might be confusing them up.But i would rather keep using Ai for all my work cause it is easier than scalp alone..Is there a chance i could have also changed a setting in Ai to help screw things up? Also when i create a new document in ai ,the screen asks me if its For Print,Web,Basic, or RGB, What should it be ? And the next thing it asks is color mode CMYK Or RGB? Then Raster effects for ppi, 72,150 or 300? . . Do i need to worry about the ppi at all or doest it matter on the PPI ....I know That im burying myself in a hole here with my problems to everyone, but not knowing what or where to go for accurate help gets me overwhelmed since i was doing perfect until the other day and its eating at me bad inside . I will recheck on the union goose and cross my fingers, i just need to get back to where i was doing ok with this without having to bug others cause we all have lives instead of dealing with people like me on here,,,You have no idea how much any help means to me .Thank you EVERYONE.. I will let you know what happens good or bad ..Dwayne Oh Goose, i forgot ,, when i create my text , its a filled color for example pink for a girl,, For example -for a front windshield--> ROCK WARRIOR ,will be solid using the font callie hand,I can change view to outline and thats when i see the nodes overlapping and the cuts will cut over each other .....And i dont see anything that says unite, just group and join, i do have Ai in the ESSENTIALS selection if that matters.

I understand what you guys are saying, And ive tried scalps text on path lol. Like Eazy said it sucks. I know im still learning But i know im making a simple mistake somewhere when it comes to saving the text as a svg for scalp Or doing the script option, the Nodes in the letters are overlapping and will cause a multi cut over each other, I just need to know what im doing wrong when i save etc So my letters are all merged etc when brought into SCALP..

Is it possible to select a group of nodes and move them or copy them to reposition them to a different part of a graphic? what im trying to do is i have a svg rose that has a leaf that is to low on the rose. i want to move that to a higher point on the rose to make it look better is it possible and how.. Im using scalp and i also have inkscape but im still learning both in this part of editing now..Thank you to all

HEEELLLLLPPPPPPP !!!Hey Eazy or 30-284 ,im hoping you guys or someone can help and for some reason im brain cramping on this ,Im still new to this whole thing of vectors and svg. but i created a txt in Ai and i saved it as a svg, but when i open it in SCALP it shows where my letters all over lap nodes to the next letter instead having them all connected as one. I tried to figure out how to put my image in here for someone to see but havent figured it out yet. I tried looking for a post about nodes in ai and scalp in the forums but no one has started one to explain how to save,or convert from ai to scalp so im really lost now. I wish someone would take the time to have a post on this for others to explain what to do in Ai and how to save etc to get it to SCALP the correct way ...

So i created a decal in Ai that consisted of standard text and an image (A rose)that was an SVG brought in to make my design.When i saved my work as a svg for scalp and imported that image from my saved folder, The text and the image was there to see but when i went to the cut portion in scalp , the image would not be there.not sure what happened ..So in order to get this to work for now, i had to import the file into inkscape and re-save the file as an svg and then i could use it in scalp.Can anyone tell me what went possibly wrong? I know when i goto save as An SVG in Ai, it asks me in the next window svg options ( svg 1.1) is pre selected.There is other options to choose like svg 1.0, svg tiny,svg basic and so on and other options below to mess with but I have left this alone so i dont screw anything up.But i think im missing something somewhere when i designed this decal. Please help if you can.I hope i provided enough info.if not let me know and ill do my best

Nice work Moody,...Ive been given a chance to attempt a bumper wrap on a 2006 dodge ram 4x4.Im not sure what the install process is or is this a difficult thing to get into,And what is knifeless tape?Any ideas would be great from anyone as well..Thank you all

Well here is the before and after for my first job.This was just a replacement fix for the top business name only,Had to remove the old decals and add the new.The customer was very pleased with the different style i came up with..I created a larger white shadow (which resembled the actual new text) to cover up old cuts in paint and for some reason the clear coat was put on after the decals were applied but taped off to protect the decal but left one hell of an edge around it so the shadow i made was needed bad.And the 2nd decal was a red over black..Tell me what you think please for my first time... I was just given a possible task of doing a simple wrap on a 2006 dodge ram bumber only in black.What vinyl is best for this ? i will have to do some research on how to install this , but im willing to learn it all when it comes to vinyl if needed..Thanks for your responses..

Ive been working on a logo design name for a carpet cleaning company and and in my design i was going to make another shadow layer under an existing one cause i need it for a repair job ive been given to do for covering up a bad decal job from some other decal company they messed up bad ,(long story) anyway when i goto make this 2nd shadow layer, it just bogs down the software and starts a " not responding " when i goto make my adjustment on how much shadow i want and it closes down or just freezes... Not sure whats going on but i need this job done for the weekend.Im running a fast windows 8, 64 bit,750hd (with a 1tb 2ndary hard drive, 16gb ram and fast graphics on a laptop.I know this computer can handle this cause i run lightroom,photoshop cs6,Ai cs6 and vegas pro like crazy and i have no lag ever till this issue with shadow in scalp.. Any ideas ? thanks everyone..

I wouldnt mind just building in "Ai" Goose,But for some reason i havent figured out how to save my arcs or archs lol( ive seen people call them both )...when i want my text to have a slight curve for like front windshields, i tried once but it didnt bring over so i gave up.Unless im saving my work wrong,,, IF you know how PLEASE tell me how to save etc for i am still trying to learn Ai the best i can.
