won't cut CURSIVE and makes STRAY diagonal cuts

Thank you, Mz Skeeter for the reply and suggestions. I've always used Inkscape because I've never had troubles. I am using WIndows as well. I've now downloaded Signblazer and working to figure it out. I'm looking for an adapter as well that is the right end to go into my cutter. I'm living in Germany now where not much is convenient. I'll probably end up ordering it. The fact that it cuts print just fine and is so random with where it goes crazy is what I can't figure out. I'll take all suggestions! Thank you!
  2. anyone... please HELP- I'm beyond frustrated! I'm unable to get my cutter to cut a cursive font. On the attached picture, things was the last word- it cut fine until the s. On other phrases, it won't even make it to the end. There is no consistency that I can figure out. It will get going, then randomly stop and cut a diagonal line through rest of the vinyl- wasting a ton. I can't pause my machine, or get it to stop without turning it off. I've read everything about using a USB cord (unfortunately I can't change to a serial but I have re-installed drivers, changed cords), static (pretty sure it's not this) and sunlight (it's not in the light). It cuts any and all block fonts just fine but will not cut any cursive font. I've even tried welding some, then not- makes no difference. I've tried more than 10 different cursive fonts (free and purchased), none will work. I've even tried cutting lettering without welding it to see if something was wrong there- didn't make a difference, still cut off and wigged out before finishing the letters. COPAM 2500 Signcut Productivity Pro (updated) Inkscape (updated to latest version) Any help would be greatly appreciated! Danke, Sheila

can't cut... not even a test cut

No, I haven't reinstalled it... I will now... thanks SO much for the reply... so frustrated!
  5. I've got a Refine MH 721, using the COM port... had my machine for 2 1/2 years and I've cut a TON on it... all of a sudden today, it won't cut. It goes through the motions, the blade just isn't dropping at all- not even a test cut. Looks like the communication between my computer and machine is definitely there... a cutter problem?! I did the 9V battery on the carriage and it did hop... not sure what to try next. Anyone with any help would be greatly appreciated!
  6. I have a Refine 721 and just started having problems with the blade skipping. It shows the outline where it was supposed to cut, but won't cut. It's only on the right side of the vinyl- just about the first two inches in. The carrier is on the track, blade is barely sticking out. I use Inkscape and have actually cut a lot of vinyl on this machine without problems. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I use a USB port and purchased my machine in August 2007. Thanks!!

    Cutting an outlined SQUARE

I know this has to be a simple thing... I just can't figure it out. I'm trying to create a simple square- just cutting out the outline, so I can put text inside of it. I haven't been able to do this with any shapes and am frustrated! Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!!

    New Version shutting down/going crazy

I really need help! I just installed the new update on SignCut and have struggled with it. I've been able to cut some things, then I'll try something and it shuts down. After reading forums and trying to troubleshoot I discovered it was set as "write to file", I changed it back to my COM1. I can cut bigger things, but especially smaller things are not cutting the right size. I tried to cut some lettering 1" x 2 1/2". One time, it worked fine. I tried again and it made it about 1/3 of the size. Some times, when I try to cut something it has me save it, then shuts down. I didn't change any other settings. I have the MH721. Any suggestions? I need to get it working... Thanks!!
  9. I posted a plea for help yesterday on the Plotter/Support site and haven't heard anything yet. I noticed that others have received responses--- any suggestions for getting some help quickly? My middle roller won't hold my vinyl- looks like it's broken off, but I've only had it about a month... don't think it should be causing problems already. I've struggled since Day 1 to get it going- now, it's wasting vinyl since it won't feed straight! Any help would be great!
  10. Maybe I should try this again- I really need help!! I have a Refine MH721 25", purchased on 4/30/07 I've used it for less than a month.... I have it connected to the COM1, and am using SignCut that came with it. I have had no communication or software problems. Just problems getting the cutting to work/vinyl to hold. Now, it looks like the center bearing support for the roller has sheared off causing the center pinch roller not to grab the vinyl. The vinyl slips since it won't hold it in the middle. I have been using 24" vinyl and think the end pinch rollers have held the vinyl relatively straight. Yesterday, I tried to use 15" vinyl and it wouldn't hold at all- because the middle roller won't hold. Is there a replacement/fix for this? I really need an answer-

    HELP!

I have a Refine MH721, purchased on 4/30/07, but I didn't even get it until a week later... had problems and didn't use it until May 10th, or so... so about a month of trying to use it... I have it connected to the COM1, and am using SignCut that came with it. I have had no communication or software problems. Just problems getting the cutting to work. Now, it looks like the center bearing support for the roller has sheared off causing the center pinch roller not to grab the vinyl. The vinyl slips since it won't hold it. Is there a replacement/fix for this? How do I make it work!? Thank you in advance...
