  1. Here is the page alignment in inkscape it is at the zero margin and clearly has space? What gives.. Thanks guys
  2. This is suppose to be 4 rows of the letter " E "
  3. Somehow I dont have the page set up correctly... my cutter says page width is 23.2" I set this same size in inkscape. I am trying to run 4 rows of 5" letters so 22" plus some spacing. It fits within the page I have set up in inkscape, with room to spare but the outer most lines do not cut. They have a little space between them and the page outline in inkscape. I dont understand, what the hell am I doing wrong? To cut from inkscape I just go to print, select my graphtec and it pull up the control page just like in the robo master software, and I hit cut... By the way if I use the Robo master cut2 software it seems to do the same thing not cut any where near the edges?
  4. Thanks I found it now. I can cut directly from inkscape, even Though I didnt add any drivers or anything I just decided to give it a try and it works. Guess I wont question it ... Is it normal if I align my image at the Zero margin in the center of the page in inkscape it starts cutting in the middle of my vinyl... so is the Zero actually the center?
  5. WEll I'm confused on my inkscape page how do I set my cutting size, and how do I change over from mm? How do I know the size my cutter is allowing? I know it is 24" material. But it cant cut all the way correct? Thanks
  6. Ok, but can I cut from signblazer? I found this on the tshirt forum, anyone know if inkscape is compatible with cutmaster2, it only mentions adobe from what I see? " Signblazer is a little quirky, You also have the option of a free download for Cutting Master 2 from Graphtec's site. It's a cut program plug in. It can be used with Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, and Inkscape (shareware) Cutting Master 2 can be downloaded here Graphtec America: Cutting Plotters, Vinyl Cutters, InkJet Printers, Wide Format Image Scanners, Data Loggers, Acquisition platforms, Electronic Testing Instruments, Craft Robo and Inkscape here Inkscape. Draw Freely." Thanks
  7. Thanks, I'm still a little confused. I'm starting off fresh, I have no software. I dont own Adobe. I just watched the videos on inkscape. The Cut Master 2 is a plug in for adobe it says. I just wanted to download some software and play with it while the cutter is on its way in shipping. I would really rather not spend $200 on the adobe right now. What do you guys think
  8. Well I started out looking at a $300 cutter, now the Graphtec is on its way. Thanks for all the help. Now to software I watched the many inkscape videos but can I cut from inkscape? do you use signblazer? I am doing our vehicle lettering, so nothing intricate or difficult... Thanks Any driver or installation tips for me I can look into? plan on using my desk top it has windows XP Media Edition on it
  9. It seems to be the same company without the forum? I saw where someone mentioned it was in TN, Is there any reason to use one or the other??
  10. Why did you upgrade to the graphtec? What was the short fall of the Copam?
  11. On the uscutter Website it doesn't Show a stand option , or mention it for the Copam , but it is pictured. The Stand is included with the Copam right? I'm looking at the 24"model CP-2500 for $750, it also has the 2 Year warranty listed on the website. It comes with sign blazer permanent trial, and cutpro 1 year license. With the Zen Green the stand is a $100 option, making it $1100 and only comes with the signcut 1 year license... On both of them you can add CorelDRAW Essentials 4 for $30 is that a good option? If you do that option do you also get the signblazer trial version? By the way I am at least going with the Copam, the MH series is no longer a option.
  12. Yep tried Craigslist there was a "bridge" for 250, unless I missed something... Hello by the way, I'm in Indiana also. Central Indiana, but no worries about me, I am not trying to start up a sign biz. I was just floored when I was Quoted over $2000 (by 2 different company's) to have some very basic vinyl cut. This is for our 2 trailers and 2 trucks, not including other promo stuff I need (another $600-1000). The bad thing is over the years I have had a couple of different construction company's, and have had a fair amount of vinyl work done before. But usually one truck or piece of equipment at a time. So it didn't seem too bad as far as pricing. But now I am going into a more specific area and have 2 new trailers 24' and 16', and our full size trucks, and a new company logo and name, So all at once is a big bill... I know there will be some growing pains in the beginning with getting a cutter, I have done this stuff before many years ago, and still applied our vinyl when I purchased it cut from someone else. I have figured it is about ~$200 worth of good vinyl and app tape, and one guy bragged he could get it to me in 2 days including design set up... So with what I want done right now the $750 Copam and vinyl will more than pay for its self and I can later do what ever signs and banner I want, when I want.
  13. I did look at the Zen green. There wasn't much activity on that forum, and it seemed like there was some issues. Maybe because its new? the machine wasn't too big of a $ jump, but the $100 stand makes it $1100. Wouldn't I be better to get the Copam for $750 now and a back up MH if I get deep into it as a back up? And that's a big if... Correct Me if I'm wrong but aren't there people running busy sign shops off a Copam? Tell me the main reason to go to a Zen Green? Someone did say the had deals on them at one point, to get more units out there... Guess not now.
  14. Man I'm on the fence. I'm not looking to open up a sign shop, I am looking to my own personal company vehicle lettering and promo signs, Maybe pick up a few small jobs... I know it list metal parts (instead of plastic) and a few other features. Is the copam worth the extra $? Why? Give me specifics... Also Someone suggested in the MH section of the forum to Ground the machine & table due to static electricity damage to the mother boards.. Is this a problem with the copam also?
