    Lowest tack transfer tape.

Im cutting out aluminum foil and need an ultra low transfer tape. What I am currently doing is applying th aluminum foil to the transfer tape and leaving edges of the ransfer tape which I tack on to the back of the vinyl sticker backing. This seems to cut out great the problem is the transfer tape is a little to tacky and does not release the aluminum foil as nice as I would like it to.

Need some begineer help... What to Buy

It does have two settings one front one back I will try that. I will also get some light tack transfer paper. both should work well. I know some materials we cut will need the transfer paper.
  3. I just bought the new Pcut 24" machine and it gets here Thursday. We are using this to cut out thin polymers such as teflon, Kapton and sometimes aluminum foils with thicknesses ranging from .0005" to .020" with most being in the .001-.005" range. The samples will be 2" squares, crosses and larger 6" Pie wedges. What do I need to be able to cut these out. They are not tapes and do not have a backing. We need to avoid getting any adhesives on them as it changes the material and will ruin our measurements. We are hoping that this machine will make sample preperation not only faster but cleaner and better. Our old way is a razor blade. Any help in getting me up and running would be great.

    Cutting nonvinyl material

Perfect thanks, The only question I have is was/is the tin foil easy to take off the transfer tape, or does it rip??? It sounds like we will be getting one of these very shortly. The other materials we will be cutting is stuff like teflon, kapotn, PTFE. and other polymers which I dont envision us having a problem with. Thanks for your help.

    Cutting nonvinyl material

Hello I would like to ask you folks some questions about the MH365. The Surface physics group here at Utah State University is looking at purchasing this cutter for sample preparation. We are will be cutting samples that range from thickness of .0005" to .005". The first question I have is when cutting these polymers do I need some sort of backing, do I need to tape the material down to this backing before running it through the plotter. The second question is has anyone tried cutting aluminum foil with this. We do not plan on cutting a lot of aluminum foil but it would save us time and money if it could. I guess before purchasing this cutter, I would like to know if it would do the job we need it to do. Thanks Josh Hodges
