hey guys so thanks very much for your help on this - I finally had chance to test out the siser iron vinyl for a tshirt for myslf and it worked like a charm! couple of questions though - how do you align your designs? I couldnt tell if i was putting on the text at an angle and also how long do you leave your tshirt to cure before you can wear it out?

glad to see this thread helped some healthy recycling take place!!

thanks guys so siserna vinyl is what I should use - and i can iron it on with a regular iron? - im only doing 5 so its hardly mass production, but want to make sure I can use my iron - i dont have access to a heat press.
-
thanks - so i just load it in the cutter and iron it on - simple as that? what about transfer tape - do i need any?

Does anyone do this here? I am looking to get a little silkscreen rig to create stickers using my vinyl cutter but unsure of what vinyl to use, and what inks to use with that vinyl. Anyone have any insight to this? Thanks

hopefully someone will be along shortly to help us out

Thanks Bob I was just looking on there website actually, is there a specific ink I should be looking at? I have a lot of oracal 651 so wondering what is acceptable to use. Still deciding if I should go UV inks or solvent, UV would be ideal (longer lasting correct?) but then id have to purchase a curer also instead of air drying.

I have a customer who wants some oracal 651 cut - but in some colors that arnt very popular for me so looking at getting 24" wide but much less than 10 yards, maybe like a 10 foot piece would be perfect. So curious where do you get your offcuts from - im looking on ebay but thought maybe theres a better option. Andy edit - im located in nyc if this helps

A client has a jeep wrangler, similar to those used in the film Jurassic Park and is looking to deck it out as zombie hunting vehicle. He wanted to keep the films logo but have it relevant to zombies so developed the artwork seen. He originally wanted them just as decals but his wife killed the project. I convinced him to use magnets so he can remove them when they visit the in-laws, or when she wants to drive around town Its my first multi-layered vinyl and my first magnet too. I think it came out pretty nice though.

Ive been asked to cut a decal for a friend, he wants an anti-glare hood decal, also known as a hood blackout decal for his jeep. Anyone had any experiance in this? I presume the hood would get fairly warm so is there a specific type of vinyl that I should use for the job? here is an example http://www.rockitwest.com/store/images/uploads/FJ_Cruiser_Hood_Blackout.jpg thanks Andy

i only have a 24" cutter :/ I found one place they do samples or cut offs, but not sure if its all odd sized cuts or a proper roll - from the description it sounded like its just floor cuttings lol

thanks guys - i will look into the 970RA1

since the holidays are here i dusted off the gold and silver vinyl and designed a custom holiday greeting for a clients front door - turns out the measurements were wrong so had to improvise the snowflake locations but it came out nice! - oh and it is centered on the glass just looks off center due to the camera angle

So just curious as Im located in NYC if anyone could reccomened a place where I can physically go and buy a roll of vinyl, or somewhere that will ship quickly - would be very handy to know if Im ever in a pinch again. Thanks
