Bill was a great friend and help to everyone on this forum. I miss driving across state and spending the day with him talking vinyl, sublimation, and helpful tips. Most of all, the hours spent just plain BS'ing. RIP my friend.

I started to use my old IPhone 4 cases for other proje cts. I picked up a disc punch and started making logo pins for club members. Just another venture.

When you overlap the transfer, try to keep the overlap over a blank area of the decal.

When I did my first banner years ago it was on my kitchen floor. Thank goodness I had knee pads. -
Graphtec cutter making random line cuts...
arty-rc replied to Dirt Fisherman's topic in GraphTec Cutting Plotter Support Requests
Mz Skeeter, Moderators, Please close this nonsense. -
Looking at your first picture, I believe you are cutting too deep and cutting into the backing paper. Reset your blade length as per MZ SKEETER'S instructions and reduce your pressure settings. You should barely be making an indentation on the backing paper with your blade.

Sawgrass inks are expensive. Finding deals on them is rare but they are out there. I am not doing too much sublimation with my SG3110dn printer but I know that anytime I need to do some sublimation it will work like new. There have been times when I have not used it for 6-7 months and the nozzle check shows no clogged heads. I have never set it to do any automatic cycles.

Don't worry about the roller marks. They will disappear after its applied. Do not mess with the roller pressure. You'll be looking for more trouble.

I have a chance to get a MH-721 cutter very cheap. I treid to test it out but my computer would not reconize it. I have all the drivers in my computer from my first two cutters(MH-365 and MH-721) and my MH-365 portable cutter works fine. I did notice that the usb port is very loose, therefore, I believe it broke away from the circuit board. Has anyone replaced the borken usb port on this type cutter? If so, Where can I pick one up? Thanks

As the New Year starts, this might be a good time to backup your files and computers. You would be surprised how time flies and we tend to let things slide. I am guilty as charged!! I checked my computers for backups and found that it has been almost a year since I backed them up. As soon as my computers finish backing up I will be setting up automatic backups. A Happy New Year To Everyone.

Have you checked to see if the carriage wheels are in their track????? -
Working with an MH cutter will give you a very good learning experience. When I got mine I learned how to tweak it to cut smaller detailed work. I made enough to upgrade to a Graphtec cutter. I also used it for portable cutting for a few years after I got my Graphtec

A little side note. If you're making the boards for gifts for people, do what I do for various things. I ask the person that I am making the gift for if they have a favorite saying, picture, their children's drawing, favorite scene, etc. and use that on the project. You'll have a friend for life.

What I have done, in SBE, on long cuts is uncheck the weed box and set the machine to limit the movement of the vinyl for the cut. This way it will cut each graphic one by one down the line.

A few weeks ago my wife's old desktop quit working. Thankfully, I keep up with our backups. After many tests I determined that the mother board was bad. I spent the next weeks shopping around for another unit with what she wanted for the right price. Today, during our weekly travels, we stopped by a local Thrift Store. They were having a huge sale so we started looking around. The first room I went in had a computer in it's original box, with a keypad and mouse. When I asked them if it worked I was told that if it was in a box, it was not tested. I took a gamble and bought it. Long story short, when I got home I hooked it up and it worked. It was not even password protected. It's an HP, Quad-core, 1TB hard drive, 6GB Ram, Light scribe DVD, and Windows 7 that was upgraded to Windows 10. Here's the kicker. The price sticker was $10.00. With the sale discount, they told me it would cost, with sales tax, $2.68. Yes, two dollars and sixty eight cents. Gotta love those Thrift Stores
