I really so no practical use for one other than saying I have one. For making one off things or prototypes, man, that's a lot of cash and really what do I need prototypes of things made for anyway? If I wanted little nick nacks everywhere I could go to any garage sale and buy them by the thousands. There is like 20 of these thing within blocks of me. I have no urge to join the bandwagon. If I want something made I will make it on a lathe or mill. Much faster, and will last a heck of a lot longer. Or just buy it on Amazon. haha

ya, solvent is by far the cheapest ink out there in terms of just the ink itself.

Graphtec 8000-130 Contour Cutting Vinyl with Masking tape
mopar691 replied to Shanx's topic in GraphTec Cutting Plotter Discussion
Never going to be able to perf cut the mask without a huge mess. Plus would have to reload and re register. Making things really complex. I perf cut almost daily but that workflow would just not work. Cut, perf cut, weed, mask and separate. To do it like your talking you are creating much more work and it would take alot longer than normal. In almost all instances it is faster to separate on the work table than it is to perf cut. -
where to start to look for this programing

Well then why did adobe just release Flash CC? Whats youtube going to do without flash? Dead? Not anytime soon. Flash allows you to write one piece of code and cross-compile it for the web, ios, android, windows and mac without the limitations other platforms currently have. HTML5 still has hoards of compatibility issues across browsers and devices. Java even more so from my understanding. -
From my local Distributor who delivers to the shop every week. I think shipping if I bought it alone would be 5 bucks.
-
Rapid Prep all the way, A gallon is less than 22 bucks, can not go wrong there.

ohhhhh ya, you can not cut on a full bleed like that right after printing. That would need to sit for overnight before it would cut correctly. The vinyl itself will be way to gummy to cut in them corners.
-
How big is this? 30 deg blade should not be used for something that is laminated and small like this appears to be. But the bigger problem might be how long after printing are you cutting? And is it laminated or just printed? If not laminated your going to need to wait a few hours if not overnight to let it gas before you cut it that that small.

Hi! Just purchased an Roland Versa Art re-640
mopar691 replied to jamiejones78's topic in Introductions
Solvent ink? Really need sublimation for what your after. You could try some canvas but will still have a small sheen to it without using a sublimation printer or dye inks. Solvent is really the wrong ink set for what you are after. -
Do not even consider a auto until you are in the thousands of shirts a day, every day. You and easily run 2 or three presses and still crank out 2000 plus shirts a day if you need. if doing small orders like your talking just get a small press like a 6 x 4. that will run almost everything you could need.

I cut phototex all the time, never had any problem with it, just slow it down adjust pressure/depth and away you go.

The kicker will be the back slit. These should be screen printed at them numbers. Call or email Stouse.

I cannot buy a Nike shirt and display it in my store and just resell it. My license does not allow that. I have to permanently embellish it and sell it that way as I am not a authorized retailer, but I am authorized to embellish them. Walmart I am sure is and they can purchase from many sources or have them made from many more as long as it meets the holders specs. There are hundreds of stores within mere miles of us who sell non authorized goods. Some know about it and some do not. Mainly most retail clothing shop owners do not care about any of that as long as they have the brands in stock that sell. All of this makes no difference to anyone like us as we are not selling brand logo clothing and accessories for them. We are in the advertising and marketing business and should do such for persons and businesses alike, not other brands just cause that is what one perceives as cool to wear and you want a share of the cash. A clothing sore is just that, A clothing store. I see people gripe on here weekly about they saw one guy selling this or one dude selling that. It is him taking the risk. If that is the road you want to go down have at it. The laws are pretty plain and simple, if you did not create it do not make it. And do not try to make it appear like someone else's work with some sly or smart little change. You might think your sly and smart and different cause you changed words or a circle but really all your doing is ripping off the original owner. Just cause people are doing it does not make it right. It is up to you and your ethics to make the right decision on how to handle your business. Simply said worry about you not everyone else. This is not directed at anyone just to everyone. Only you can steer your judgement to to what is right. There is much more to a business than just selling something. -
cutting to close to the corner and edge when starting. HPV is a little different than regular PSA vinyl and causes a but more drag on the knife. You need to either be closer to the roller or have a tad more pre fed out front.

SS Activewear has coolers for .60. Throw a couple in every order. I generally buy them 1000 plus at a time, They are less then .30 at that rate different vendors. I screen a lot of them in the summer and generally get a buck a piece for them. -
Is this an Offset Problem?
mopar691 replied to Topper's topic in Creation PCUT Cutting Plotter Support Requests
Wondering if it repeats exact? also what happens if you shift orientation (flip upside down) How fast are you cutting? I have seen things like this on cheaper machines where it is actually holding the blade to far away from the material. I had to shim a few of the actuators to allow the blade to drop less or more before it starts cutting. And what cutting speed and does speed affect this at all? -
Wow, maybe my first big order?! Need some advice

Hard to compete with Screen Printers in any quantity. I am higher than average and I would be at $9.70 each for them retail. -
Each has their good and bad points. Consider how much space you have to dedicate to all of the equipment. 3 large pcs take up a lot of room. Also consider loading and unloading, material storage and running space. Myself I have never had a print/cut machine. Now I do not think I could just cause of my workflow and I am to accustomed to them being separate. But might be different if I started with one from the beginning. I run a Mutoh and a FC8000. Also not to sound edgy but the laminator should come at the same time if you start out right.

I have all the goodies for them just have not had the time to set up and test them yet. soon hopefully I will have a few moments to get them done
