On Illustrator you can "ignore white" when using the live trace feature, fixes alot of the double cutting problems -
MH721 setting
pyrophire replied to superraff's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Support Requests
Make sure that there arent 2 designs on the same edge, the areas will register to the cutter and it will attempt to make multiple cuts. Also make sure that the Pass setting is set to 1, nothing higher. I use signcut and it has the option right when you open the cut dialog. -
Is that a moomoo? (homer simpson)

where's the "i wanna make a shirt for dummys thread?"
pyrophire replied to xpfguy's topic in T-Shirts and/ or Garments
I did a test shirt with siser easy weed, at 400* for 10 seconds w/o a teflon sheet and it worked great. My heatpress is an old one used for screen printing since the mid 80s so it takes a while to heat up, but it gets to the set temp and stays at that temp solidly since its all steel plates and cast iron. It says peel hot but I waited till it was cold and peeled it that way, worked great, no shrinkage or stretching. -
Contact paper is made to be removed though, so any outdoor use is out of the question. A bit of water or a solid wind will start to peel the contact paper right off of the surface, tried it on a couple of surfaces and even with extreme pressure, it comes off (J roller).

control click the text, this will create a selection that you can transfer between layers. click on the red layer and just press delete, this will remove the text area on the red but leave the rest of the object in tact, same for the black if you want to do that. apple click for OSx

Closest thing I have is called SF Square Head, the S is different but the rest of the letters are the same
-
You could just use a standard font in illustrator, create outlines and just put a brushed ink stroke on it, makes the letters a bit more unique instead of having the same strokes for the same letters throughout the deisgn.

I have this car club looking to get some tshirts done. They want black tshirts and I usually get them from a local distributor, but they are.... kinda rude when you go in there to give them your money. So I'm here asking for sources of where to get the cheapest 100% cotton black tshirts.

The house was built in 63 and everything has wood paneling on it.. and I mean everything.... I've already re-done the master bedroom though, just got to take it one room at a time when time and money allows I know what thats like, my parents house is from 1920, the walls are plaster/lathe. Its insane trying to hang stuff or repair stuff w/o having to replace the whole wall.

Nice setup but you gotta do something about the 70's wood paneling on the walls lol

Laserpoint cutting everything REALLY small?
pyrophire replied to mwdesigncreate's topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Support Requests
Make sure you press [ENTER] when you change the size in signcut so it adds the .000 after your 7 inches to confirm the size change. I had this problem when I first started using SCP -
Cutting twice
pyrophire replied to VendettaVinyl's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Discussion
Also reset your machine after each job, I dont know if you are sending multiple jobs out to the cutter and its just restarting at the origin. -
I just did 50 decals, 10x2 with a similar font for a death metal band here. Each one had about 40 little pieces to weed out, I should have charged him more. Those little extensions sure are a pain to weed arnt they.

You need to install the drivers for the cutter and have the cutter plugged in before running the app, it will see it as a "com." on the list and you will be able to select it.

MH-721 cutting issue
pyrophire replied to pyrophire's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Support Requests
I have the wire attached now as of an hour ago, and its connected via USB. I think I've figured out whats wrong though. The design that kept failing was vector text in illustrator that was just sent to signcut. The design that worked was a highres JPG that was made into vectors with LiveTrace and it worked. I saved the illustrator text design as a high res jpg, then reopened it, live trace and send to signcut. It cut perfectly. ill update this on my support ticket. -
I got my cutter last week and made a few cuts and it was working just fine for a couple of days. Today I put together 2 designs on one single file to cut them both. One cut just fine and the other cut all wrong. I'll attach what the wrong cuts look like, there are triangles all over the design. I made a large single letter, an R in Impact font and the corners of the R had the same triangle cut. The pictured design and R were two separate files. I have no idea whats going on, I hope the cutter isnt messed up within a week. Speed is 24, Pressure is 70g

MH-721 cutting issue
pyrophire replied to pyrophire's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Support Requests
What im wondering is why it cut half of the design right, then messed up the other half. Then cut a 2nd copy of the right design then mess up the 2nd half again... You would figure if the cutter isnt lifting that it would mess up the whole design, not just half of it. -

It does lift when I do the test cut. The 2 squares cut with no extra cuts along it but when its a design being sent to the cutter it has those triangles. I have just opened a support ticket. -

No, I just started having the problem today and tried figuring out whats wrong thinking it was the design or software. -
Hi there, Eli here. I just got my Refine MH series a couple of days ago and have been having fun with it. I'm from El Paso, Texas and hope to be doing work for some local bands as far as tour vans and merchandise. I already do printed litho paper stickers for them and have been wanting to expand the business to do vinyl decals. Here is a couple of test runs I did for my brother and myself's laptops. (i need to wipe down my macbook pro more often)
