Yea I think that would work. They actually make some spraycans of automotive clear coat for like touchups, that stuff is super strong and not that expensive. I think that would be something to consider. You think If I take some clear and spray it before I unmask that it would be good enough to reseal it?

You dont want to sand blast the anodized layer off of aluminum, leaves it open for corrosion. The anodizing keeps the aluminum protected against the elements. Also people can have allergic reactions to the bare aluminum, which is why they anodize it lol.

I use pigment ink for my sticker business, I used to run put laser systems but have switched over to all pigment ink on vinyl over paper.

You could use low tack vinyl which is easily removable once the event ends. The coroplast could be attached using double sided tape and have the design have a border to point out the edge of the coroplast instead of hide it.

Aqueous printing is limited and Dye ink is limited even more so. Dye ink is not recommended for vinyl printing though, it does not last long unlike pigment ink. If you still want to go ahead and use it, i believe mactac makes a roll of vinyl that takes dye ink. The price is higher than the pigment ink so you should shop around, you dont want to spend 90% of your income on materials.

Try sealing your printouts with a laminate, spray or cold-lam would work good before cutting.

I prefer the 3988, they carry about 4 different types of printable vinyl for aqua, but they come in 65 foot rolls I think.

Like Dakota and LDS said, the texture that gets pressed into the vinyl will go away after application for vinyl and after being heatpressed on to shirts for transfer material. Nothing to worry about, just something to deal with meanwhile you weed.

pyrophire replied to myjdmspace's topic in Mac Users Board
use the plug-in for illy, sends it straight to signcut ready to cut. even works for the color overlays -
new to vinyl, and photo-editing, but i need to learn for my glass work!
pyrophire replied to scarecrowglass's topic in Introductions
If you are going to use signcut to cut, you will need to have internet access as it checks to make sure the license is still valid when it cuts -
Almost got towed, might get some business from it?
pyrophire posted a topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
Had my truck almost towed today but ended up paying the guys and giving them my card for business, they asked if I could do magnets. I told them I could, since i have magnetic material on hand to put vinyl on. They said they would call in a couple of days. Question is, what would you all charge for a 24x12 inch magnet, white material with 3 colors of vinyl on them. Would be either 2, 4, 6 or 8 magnets total. -
That is what credit cards are for. I made the money i spent on the printer back within a week.

If you feel like trashing it, ill pay shipping my way and see what I can do with it -
Hwelp if u can? I keep getting this message when in signcut!

Hmm my text stays as text and not curves, maybe thats the issue with it cutting those triangles on every corner... -
The mactac was too hard to get my hands on, so now im using the thicker Sihl 3988, easier to load up and not as "curly" off the roll and I can get it locally, tax free

The cutter is not going to show up like a hard drive on your computer, it doesnt work like a printer either where you can use a utility to access it. It needs to be set to a proper com port with proper communication settings. -
I just started working at our news paper doing graphic ads, we get in pdfs and files that are not vectors. When they come in, we drop them in this processing folder called Asura and they come out as vector eps files. I'm just wondering if anyone has heard about it before, I'm going to take some personal files to work to see what it exactly does to them. If this works the way it does, it could be very useful for those of you who need vector images from non-vector files w/o having to manual process everything.
-
The PDF's we process at work have jpg's in them, as well as tiff, gif and other non vector files

Also post this in the right section, you might get help there.

Another Matte Finish removable besides Oracal 631
pyrophire replied to digitalgraffiti's topic in Vinyl
From what I've seen with 3M, avery and offbrands, Oracal seems to be the one with most color options and consistent colors. Saw a supplier with offbrand vinyl and same color rolls varied slightly. Probably not enough for the customer to notice, but enough for me to know. -
