  1. Hi all, is anyone using an online artwork proof service like proofhq or conceptshare? These are the two that I come across searching google. I used the sample on proofhq, although it just seems to busy. I'd like something a little simpler. I have made to many simple (costly) errors lately due to my poor workflow (email, text messages, voicemails, text pics, facebook post and messages...) I have subbed some print jobs to Fastsigns and they usually send me an online artwork proof with choices to reject, approve, approve with changes (which are notes that I leave) I don't mind paying a small monthly for a clean, simple, easy to use for the customer. Thanks, Jason
  2. all of the answers above are normally the reason, although there is an option to vary cut "passes" on some cutter software. I use it when cutting rhinestone material because it is very thick and I get a better result. When I forget to turn it off.. it will normally cut all the way through the backing paper of standard materials so pay attention for that.

I have another image of this font from the customer that leads me to believe that this one has been stretched vertically. Any ideas, sort of a western style. thanks jason

    Nothing but problems so far

i also bought a dedicated pc to use with my cutter, although i still do 90% of my art work on my MacBook Pro lounging on the couch..... using Illustrator CS5. try the trial version. I used inkscape for all of about 5 minutes then uninstalled it. good luck!
  6. I want a spade with just a simple, clean look. some of the spades i have found on the internet look like a nightmare to weed and just to "fancy". something old school. thanks jason

    need font help please.

I'll help anyway I can, although I started using a PC to run my cutter do to I wanted to use i-DesignR. It's not bad software, I use after I design in AI. I also use the rhinestone pattern making part quite often.

  10. Simple example: If I type "Coach Jason" in illy Send to cutter. cutmaster 2 / graphtec ce5000-60 Tell cutmaster 2 to cut artwork 2" tall. The text always comes out shorter. It seems like it cuts the invisible text/edit box at 2" and not the actual text. Any advice? Thanks
  11. Well the pics pretty much explain what I did. It's black reflective 3M vinyl on a black jeep. When light shines on it at night... WOW. I don't know who loves it more, me or the customer.

  16. I just purchased iDesignR. I watched the videos on Graphtecs website and really liked what I saw. I see very little post regarding iDesignR. So far I am very impressed and for only $350 for CE and they only charge the difference to upgrade to PRO another $350. I bought it with the Rhinestone starter kit cause the wife has been begging me to do Rhinestone apparel. I'll keep you posted if I continue to like it. Jason
  17. Hint, if you have never ordered samples direct from 3M it's worth checking into. The 3M vinyl I used on this Jeep I actually got free!! 3 rolls 48" x 5y or 10y?? I don't remember. I estimate it worth about $1,100. I had to cut it in half so it would fit my 24" cutter but I'm not complaining. If you don't have a licensed or registered business they may not send you samples like this, but good luck! I'll take cash tips for the tip

    Accepting Credit Cards

I've used Intuit Go Payment on my iPad for over a year now. extremely convenient and reliable. Did not have the swipe device when i first got it, but they sent me one later at no charge. All my sales on normally being collect on location or by emailing a cc auth form. If I had a retail store I might look for something different, but... i doubt it.

  20. any advice on how to prevent the glazed look where the press platen contacts shirt? example: Fibron material, 340 deg, 20 seconds, firm pressure, teflon sheet between heat platen and the graphic. Transfer express #'s at 375 deg for 4 sec does the same thing. using the 15/15 digital from usc is the result normal when pressing on poly (under armour) type shirts? i will try and post a pic when i find one.
