  1. looked in vinyl, heat press, and t-shirt categories and can't find a simple heat/time instructions list (if there is one). I have Siser easyweed t-shirt material and the 15"x15" digital swingarm from usc. I think the heat press is Celsius? I have a temp gun I plan to shoot the plate and see what it reads. My first attempt I set it at 180 for 30 seconds and when I lifted the press, the entire transfer sheet was half stuck and hanging from the top of the press. I tried again at 280 for 40 seconds and this time the transfer did stick to the shirt but I doesn't look to be applied very well, almost like you could peel the vinyl off the shirt although it is stuck there. It was a white vinyl for a black t-shirt. Please advise. Thanks, Jason
  2. Hi all, my first post was on the Mac user section anyway here I am. Can't wait to get started cutting and making some shirts. Got a question thought, is there a list of definition somewhere for the cutter world lingo. Reading the forums is like jibberish to me. pcut, keyspan, node, odd words for a noob. Excited to be here, can't wait for my equipment/supplies to arrive. Jason
  3. are you both referring to Far. or Cel. ? My press is: It doesn't have a name on it. Mine is red, the one here is black? http://www.uscutterdirect.com/15-x-15-Digital-Swing-arm-Heat-Press_p_983.html 15 x 15 Digital Swing-arm Heat Press Item Id: FLHP3805B
  4. Looking for the baseball player swinging bat or fielding ball. See on back of cars all the time. I'm a noob, but I promise I searched. The closest match I found was the baseball hitting and broken bat.

What is uni-convertor and do i need it? I just hooked up my first cutter, the Graphtec ce500-60 and I can't get it to work. mac mini with snow leopard. What seems odd (remember I don't know anything about any of this) is the Cutting Master 2 1.60 that came with the cutter won't open any files; .ps or .esp or .pov ect.. I don't know what to do. They are not highlighted/selectable When I try to do the test cut, the cutter says "HP-GL Error 1" Help, I want to cut something....

I downloaded Illustrator cs4 trial. I managed to send a file through the plug in to cutting master. the plotter just goes, rrrrruuuummmm. ok that was dumb but it just sounds like a fan fires up for about 2 seconds, then nothing.

    Hey all!

    hello from a noob FL
  10. Nice to meet everyone... I updated my profile Jacksonville, FL for me.
  11. Hi all, I just ordered a Graphtec 5000 ce-60, a heat press, some vinyl and a clipart disc. It's going to be a long 5 days waiting for shipping. I'm another pc user just fed up with problems. I have a MacBook Pro and a Mac mini that I will plan to run the cutter and would like some feedback about software. I spent all my money so I plan to start out using the free vector software that Les from USCutter recommended until I can afford to purchase Illustrator. Anyone using inkscape? Any problems with Snow Leapord? The next questions probably don't belong in this section but I trust some mac users to donate some feedback. 1. Where do I get the vector art (clip art, not sure what to call it, don't know the lingo) to make the "stick people" family thing for the back glass? 2. What are the possible issues for using copyright logos, college football for example? 3. Do I need special vinyl to print on to make sticker, what about heat transfer vinyl? 4. Thanks for any input in advance? Jason...
  12. I thought the salesman from usc said that Corel was not available for mac?
  13. ok ok no copyright stuff, thank you. anyway the main reason for the email is im a noob and my order should show up any day now and i want to play with it right away. what is all the talk about keyspan and serial... will i just use a usb cable to connect my mac mini or macbook pro to the graftech 5000 ce 60? what would you tell a noob other than read the manuals as far as out of the box to cutting... should i just search the forum or you tube for instruction? please comment on what software you guys use and the pro/cons associated with the software choices. I am a little worried about where i plan to put the equipment. what is worse... humidity.. tempature...? i have a personal logo for my photography business that is an .eps file. is that what i need to cut or does it have to be converted. what software will cut it? Jason
  14. thanks, I did also buy some heat transfer vinyl, a clip art collection, and the "app/install starter kit" not sure what all is in there, but I know it has transfer tape, xacto knife, squeegy ect . Thanks for your blountness about the copyright , I don't plan on mass selling anything but I would like to make a decal for my own car of my favorite team... was my real intentions. Still wrong, I know. Searching the web, I have seen "100,000 logo collection, $29.99" type stuff. If I buy that, do I have the rights to sale the decals?? I purchase this to be use 80% personal and 20% business... meaning I sale something to friends but I'm not running a sign shop. Maybe... in the future As for printing, I have a friend with an Pro 24" Epson, I was hoping that would work. On a smaller scale I have an HP color laser printer, will that work on any type of vinyl for stickers or shirts?
