    ACE HARDWARE

Another thing, Let him provide you with the actual file of his logo (and not from google- LOL), that along with the release should cover you. I know when my company (large WW corp) has anything printed, we always provide the artwork and 3D guidlines, to the printer as well as a release if needed. One more thing, If he is willing to sign a release try and get it for say 12 months so when he wants to do more items, you are covered for said period without having to keep signing releases

    USCutter's email about vinylmaster

Go figure, I just ordered the day before this update was sent. Lets see what they ship me in regards to software...
  4. My Copam 2500 is still going strong and cutting great (knock on wood). However it's loud and does not contour cut I mainly cut window decals (651) for local car groups and just started selling hood strut wraps and other items, mostly for car enthuisets so I'm making some money on these side projects and getting known around town. I really want to branch out to do more full color shirts and decals, thus the contour cutting is my next step. I need at least 24". I was looking at the roland GX24 and Graphtec but then started reading reviews of the Titan 3 (28") and that seems really nice for the money. I'm not a full blown professional. I started out and still do most of my cutting for myself and friends for free (other then material) to learn and gain exsperiance. I actuallyl like creating the artwork more then cutting. While I really like the roland, it does not come with a stand. I've checked my local craigslist however they are asking way too much for used Graphtec Am I foolish considering the Titan 3 over a Graphtech and Roland machine in my situation? I really hate spending money twice. I would also like to pickup a nice heat press for shirts so saving some money on the cutter is a win win for me. Thanks for the help
  5. Well after getting some very bad sales support via the US cutter online chat where I was basicly told tough, there was a mistake on the web site - deal with it. I order a Titan 3 and what do I find, the Roland back down to $1295... What is going on with UScutter lately, does anyone in sales/support have a clue? I just sent them a message, lets see how they handle this as I've received word my order has shipped already.
  6. Just got off a live chat with UScutter. 0 It seems that the BIG ROLAND GX-24 Forum ad for $1295, that's been up a while, is not honored anymore and the real price is $1495. I asked why that ad was stil up and they said they will let the admin know that it needs to come down. Lets see how long it takes UScutter to remove that ad. I don't think they want to mislead anyone on the correct price.
  7. Never thought of the 28inch vs actual material size. Regarding static. Never had any issues down here in Florida with my copam will call tomorrow for the actual price on the Roland. Thanks again
  8. few questions and overview so far - Titan 3 - with stand and RazorCut (PC) or SignCut (Mac) Servo 28" - $1095 - Roland - no stand comes with cutstudio (PC) servo - 24" $1495 or forum ad shows $1295 (confused on price) - Graphtec - stand ?? (does not say but shows it) Graphtec Studio Software (Included) Servo - 24" $1745 Software question, what is the best software that comes with the above? Currently using SCAL PRO 4 and like it alot. I can inport and vectorize JPG files I design in Photoshop. However I'm looking more for the contour cut part of the software and ease of use. Looks like I'm down to the Roland or Titan 3 right now as I don't want to spend $1700+. If I can get the Roland for 1295 I may jump on that. Need to call UScutter during the week. I may also be able to modify my Copam stand for the roland but I like the idea of 4 extra inches with the Titan 3... grrrrrrrr Thanks for all the feedback.
  9. Thanks everyone a local friend going to show me his graphtec
  10. Has anyone tried these vs the UScutter blade holders for our Copam's? I just ordered one for $9 (worth taking a chance I guess) to see how they fair against the factory one. Looking to pickup one as a 60 vs 45 so I don't have to change what works with one blade type.

    SCALP 4 Projects becoming Corrupt

Yes and close... :-) At first I thought it was static however I've been cutting (here in Florida) for the past year without any issue. I have a copan and have been cutting over a year with V2, then 3. Just updated to SCAL 4 pro (running V3 pro) . After upgradeing I did not think I had to reload my USB drivers but I did and it solved all my problems. (most of them. Still can't load old V2 or 3 projects... To reload USB drivers simply go into Help -> install USB drivers So far so good.

    SCALP 4 Projects becoming Corrupt

I'm having the same problem as well as issues opening all my older stuff ie: versions 2 and 3. Not to mention a host of other issues with not finishing a cut, not retracting the cutting head, cutting a solid line down the cutter past the guides(after setting my size via the cutter)

    Shipping to customers

I've read all the threads on troubleshooting, hardware, selling , pricing and software to name a few. But I have not seen many threads in regards to shipping your final product to customers. I know larger pieces you use a cardboard tube. I just had my first real sale with a piece that is just bigger then a standard and 8.5"x 11" envelope. Of course it's only 13" long but it does fit on a diagonal in the 8.5x11 with some cardboard protection. So how are people shipping their in between sized graphics? Did I use the correct media? I won't know the shipping charges until later this am when I stop by the post office. Then that brings up another question. Do any of you use a USB scale and a company like stamps.com? Is it worth signing up for this service if you're doing a lot of mailing? I can get a good discount code for stamps.com which includes a free scale. As always thanks in advance -Jim

    Shipping to customers

I sold it from my own site/car forum. Regarding size vs mailer - that is what I thought but it's my first time. I figured in about $2 for shipping sold a 13" x 2" sticker for $10 which included shipping. I really need to think about the shipping for these intermediate sized stickers. Thanks Jesse!

    Mavrick with SCAL Pro?

Anyone use this combo yet? Any issues? Looking to upgrade a few boxes around the house and don't want to chance messing up my cutting software. Thanks in advance -Jim

Power inverter instead of a generator

You will need something that outputs a sign wave. Most cheap inverters are step approximated sign waves (square) and are not recommended for anything other then switch mode power supplies (computers). When using a generator you should use a good "line regulator" to clean up the output. Also inverters are rated peak to peak and not real power just be careful on the power rating.

    Thanksgiving

Would like to thank all the help offered here in the forums and wish everyone a great Thanksgiving day. Don't eat too much!!
  22. The main reason I got my cutter was to produce large custom work for our local car group ( Central Florida Challenger Owners). I've designed the following, for a owner, who wanted her Black RT to stand apart for others around the area. I used the 2010 Mopar Drag pack as inspiration. Trying to reproduce the badges on the back of my PCP challenger with vinyl. Took 2 tries to get the correct dims but I really like this. We applied these to this 2009 White RT and the Black RT above, which now has a silver rear deck spoiler. I tried to do these so the body color would be part of the decal and look more custom. Here's our group stickers I do (not the scat pack decal). I do all these in the body color of the car, which separates our group from other white/black logo only groups and adds a custom flare like above. Dodge must have used the Oracal color book as their colors are spot on for most of the colors in our group see below. My custom logo for a web site I've run since 2001 (FPSadmin.com - PC gaming site working with the big 3 publishers) This was done with my old Cricuit and SCAL (what first got me started cutting vinyl. Funny I purchased the Cricuit for the wife to do scap booking and I basically took it over to do custom vinyl. I'm using our little car group (we push hard that we're not a club) as my test customers. I'm doing stuff for them for free while I learn more about what products to use, how to apply, how to market and what would sell. Which I hope will better prepare myself, to sell my work (my copyright only of course).
  23. thanks guys, yeah all the stuff I've done is just for fun nothing for sale. (which I know still does not make it right. these are all testing...)
