Crap....... That sucks. -
OK I'm lost............................. What are you guys using the UV lights for?
-
That's funny you posted that auction. I don't know how this guy has so many used flexistarter but I just won an auction earlier today for flexistater (dongle version) from the same seller. Interesting.

So I have a customer that I completely rebuilt a poor quality raster image into a vector image that can be resized to anything he wants. I'm charging about 8 hours of design time. After I'm done who owns the rights to the image? Should I release the image in the vector format to him? Do I charge extra to release it? How much? I was discussing this with my GF last night and she compared it to a wedding photographer. You pay them to take the picture and can order your pictures from them but if you want the original images you have to pay extra. What's the common practice here?

Yea.... That place is rough!!!!

I think this is an interesting discussion. The customer hasn't asked me for it I'm just basing this on what if....... I'm still up in the air on how much to charge. Here's the image I'm referring too. If you scroll to the bottom you can see the before and after. http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php?/topic/42435-i-need-some-help-find-some-graphics/ 8 hours does seem like a lot (I agree) but the bulk of it was searching for images that will work. (See how long it takes you to look for a vector image of a corn growing on a stack. Looks easier then it is. LOL) And Honestly I have ALOT more time invested in it then that, I'm estimating 12+ hours. I actually tried to farm the design work out and I was turned down by one person and another wanted 4 hours as a down payment. I first had to search and find each image. Some of them I had to pay for. And then on top of that I had to modify most of them to get them to work. Some images had to be traced. 15 images all together. I'm open to hear thoughts on how many hours I should charge. I'm new at this so I want to be completely fair to the customer.

What's the deal with the cloud version? I've been looking at getting flexi starter but the I can find on eBay is a cloud version. Are those legit?

Just turned 33 yesterday. I don't have a cool story like you though. Just liven the dream.

Talk about some nonpaying customers. haha

I remember the anniversary every year because it's also my birthday. But since I'm only 33 I wasn't around when it happened.

$5 roll of paper in the paint section of Lowes or Home depot and the pin plotter. I can afford to test and play all day with this setup.

Any suggestions on humidifiers? -
On my MH I just push the reset button after each cut. So far it seems to work.

Don't do that.............. Research what kind of corporation you want to be. Research some more. And just alittle more....... Google all the terms they use so you have an understand of what they mean Then go to your State's web site you got from all your research. For Florida it's sunbiz.org Fill out the form and pay the state's fee and BAM you have a company. Don't pay a legal company to fill out the same exact form you can get for free and fill out yourself. The key here is to research and have a complete understanding of all your options.

Blade holder is off a few degrees
Go-C Graphics replied to Go-C Graphics's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Support Requests
Yea Everything was tight. It has something to do with the way it clamps down on the holder. that's when it turns alittle It's still not cutting great but it's better. Everything little tweak is helping. I have to go through every setting again and do some testing. -
Blade holder is off a few degrees
Go-C Graphics posted a topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Support Requests
I'm hoping someone has had this problem and has fixed it. I've been trying to fine tune my MH 871-MK2 and I noticed that the blade it's exactly perpendicular. It's turned maybe a degree or 2 counterclockwise. Is there any adjustment for this? I think it's affecting my cuts. I examined my holder and it's lost it's paint on 1 edge of it by it rubbing against the vinyl. You would think that it would wear evenly if it was perpendicular. Anybody had this problem and fixed it? -

I'll have to call US Cutter on Monday. For now I've managed to place little squares of vinyl to shim it straight. Now my circles are coming out perfect and I have ZERO tags holding in the corners. -
It's my first dollar Go-C Wraps made officially as a company on Tuesday 11/12/13. Hopefully the first of MANY! It's looking really good so far. Can you tell I'm excited!!!!!!!!!

Oh the bank teller asked me which one of the $600 I wanted back to hang on the wall. LOL It was for a Golf cart wrap but I'm done with those....... WAY to time consuming. I'm going to need to change the name to Go-C Signs and Graphics. Everything is looking up for me. I've got a dealership ordering $120-$200 worth of decals a week from me now.

I was bored................ So I plotted this on my MH, 26" wide I think it looks pretty cool. I never could draw. I think if I got some better paper and played around with some colors it could be something I hang on the wall. I also wanted to see if it would give the plotter any memory problems. I think it handled it. Thanks for the image Dawn

That's awesome. Looks pretty sturdy. You should market it!
