    MagiCut

Does anybody use this software? I've got a Graphtec Ce5000-60 and this software supplied, but it doesn't seem to ready any vector formats although I know it should. It'll only let me import jpegs and the conversion to vector within the software itself isn't great. I have signblazer for my Pcut but I can't get that to work with the Graphtec. So is there someway I can get the MagiCut software to read vector files, or is there another free program I could use with the graphtec?

    Not cutting evenly

Are you sure your blade isn't extending and retracting on its own, when the carriage moves from side to side?
  3. Daddy-O What blade were you using? Original Pcut? 45 or 60? etc
  4. Thanks for the help Howard. Works perfect with the pen at offset 0, its absoloutely gorgeous. My belt seems fine, but can't actually open the left side (as you face the cutter, facing the CP), as one of the screws just will not open- think I've eroded the head now. You think I should try a different blade Holder? Can I buy one form China/Germany on ebay?
  5. baby oil. No difference though. And its definately at the end of the cut where it seems to veer off and wreck the cut. Looking at it you essentially get what other people have posted pictures of. As the cutter start from the bottom right of the square and goes left, then up, then right, then back down it veers off before it completes the cut.
  6. The carriage is on the track. Thanks for the link Dakotagrafx- I will check that now. But I'm pretty sure the miscut comes at the end when trying to close a cut, and the blade veers off in a different direction. Whereas if it just went straight it would close the cut fine.
  7. Yes. Replace the unit with a Graphtec or Roland. USCutter worked out a reasonable deal on a Roland GX-24. Couldn't be happier with the Roland. Cut like butter right out of the box and with Cutstudio, I'm sending work straight out of AI - streamlining workflow and saving gobs of time to boot. I'm sure its not the answer you were looking for, but sometimes money does equal higher quality. Daddy-o Frickin A. Unfortunately paying 5 times more for a cutter isn't an option for me at the moment. No doubt it would be worth it though. Seems strange the boys at USCutter haven't worked out the problem yet. Do you know whether they actually investigated the faulty machine you sent back?
  8. With all due respect it doesn't seem like the professionals know jack. That said, I'm in the UK and didn't buy my cutter from yourselves even if I did think a support ticket would help.
  9. Its not an offset problem. Like everybody else with this problem I've tried every offset between 0 and 0.9 with no real improvement. It seems as if the blade just skews away from where its meant to go. (Is there an overcut setting in Sign Blazer?) I'd like to open up my cutter and see if tightening anything up will help- but I need to know exactly which part I should open up and what I should try tightening.
  10. "Can somebody elaborate a lil bit more and how to adjust the head to cut clean corners and also how do you tighten the rollers, thanks so much needless to say im haveing the same problems as squelch and paranoid" Anybody?
  11. So did anybody get a definitive solution to this problem?
  12. AHAHAHA... Brilliant- I feel a right tool now. I had no idea the brass part moved on its own- it was very tight up against the top and I assumed it was just joined. Now- If I could just get the cutter to close my cuts properly I'll be set.
  13. I've not got a great camera but here you go:
