    Text Help

Hello, I am having issues with text saved as an EPS and cutting with SignCut. I have the text in the workspace but it doesn't seem to have any paths (indicating it's not vectored). Am I missing a step to give it paths?? Thanks, Paul

    Mavericks / SCP

Upgraded to Mavericks and had to install new drivers. I used the driver package from this link: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm I cut one thing successfully and now everything is haywire. SCP sees the device on the output port but it doesn't play well. Last cut attempt was cutting something absolutely random really large. Anyone experience this or working with Mavericks? A better driver package out there possibly? -Paul

    OSX 10.8.2 XQuartz/Inkscape

I'm trying to get Inkscape to work on 10.8.2. From what I've found you need to install XQuartz (X11 replacement). I'm having issues with this for some reason. I can't find anything on the Xquartz wiki so I'm asking here: does anyone know where this installs to? I can't find it in my applications. When I try to launch Inkscape it asks to be directed to X11 or something related (Xquartz), but I can't find where it lives. Any help is appreciated, -Paul

    OSX 10.8.2 XQuartz/Inkscape

Found it in Utilties, but it just opens a terminal window and sits. Any idea how to get this to run with Xquartz? Edit: It works. Carry on

Saving as .DXF - having issues

When trying to save as a .DXF file i get this error: The fantastic lxml wrapper for libxml2 is required by inkex.py and therefore this extension. Please download and install the latest version from http://cheeseshop.python.org/pypi/lxml/, or install it through your package manager by a command like: sudo apt-get install python-lxml Does anyone know where to put the file?

    Roll Advance

Hello, I just moved SignCut over to a mac, everything cuts fine, but when the cutter moves to the home position it also advances the roll backwards off the center roller - so basically I have to re-load the sheet after ever job. Any idea on where this setting is? This doesn't happen when using my windows machine and I don't remember changing a setting for this. I've looked around in all the settings in SignCut and only found "Rewind after advance." I set this to 0 with no change. Is advance after cut what i should be changing? Thanks, Paul

    Looking for Mata Regular

Hi all, I am looking for a particular font called Mata Regular - I've found all the paid versions under the sun and was hoping someone either has it and can share, or knows of a source to obtain it. I have downloaded a replica called 1979 and it I don't think it's going to work. Here is what Mata Regular looks like: http://new.myfonts.com/fonts/t26/mata/regular/ Thanks!

    Is there any...

Alternative to sign cut? It runs like absolute crap 90% of the time. Freezes, crashes, have to restart my entire machine then it might cut one tile then it happens again.... What else is out there to interface with the cutter? -Thanks

    Snowmobile Reg Stickers

Hello! I used Oracle 651 for some registration stickers for my sled and they aren't holding up very well. I cleaned the surface well and applied them in a heated garage. Is there something that ya'll know of that will hold up a bit better? -thanks

I will try the serial cable, thanks!

    Is there any...

I'm not sure what else it would be. USB is the connection type, COM2, always use the same USB port, have tried others in the past with the same results, different cord etc. I LOVE the software and it's ease of use but honestly for as much work is it is to get it to actually cut consistently is not worth the time.

    Dynamic Offset

Hello! I am trying to do some outlines on text and both dynamic offset and outset are both not working. I'm thinking I'm not selecting something correctly. I am following this tutorial: http://www.doublezdecals.com/images/forumposts/lesson4/lesson4.html But I don't get the single node like in the video. Any ideas? -thanks

    Dynamic Offset

I thought the same thing! I did zoom in and still no node. I will try your suggestion. Thanks!
  25. Currently working with two layers, I'll select the bottom layer and click the button to move it to the top (even tried through the pull down menu) and it wont move - neither layer will move. When I right click the layer, it has the "undo: lower to bottom" so the software sees the command but it doesnt move... any ideas?
