  1. I want to say i am all ;D at seeing that cutter. the 40" looks like a gcc ja-101s(positive it is) and all i can say about that is that it CUTS!!The nice thing about them is that they make virtually NO NOISE. They cut super accurate. and track very well thumbs up to us cutter for selling these

well...if that is the case then its amazing how well they are for that price. I paid over 2k for my 40" and it cuts EVERY bit as good as my Roland sp300v. its also super quiet, blazingly fast, accurate, tracks well. I just have ZERO complaints about it right now. If i could get another for 500 like you say, id buy 3 right now. since you are the only person here who actually has the cutter, and is qualified to judge it... I,for one, appreciate your input. Nothing like first-hand experience. if you look around a lot of LARGE sign supply places sell them. look at their prices, if they were not truly worth the amount, no one would sell any imo. I have the ROland sp300v,the copam, a gx400 and the jaguar 40" and I think they are all good cutters. my rolands and the jaguar are GREAT cutters though!

It doesn't cut near as well as a regular Roland cutter. mine does. if yours doesnt you should call roland bc it cuts every bit as good as my roland gx series.*edit*I could have gotten lucky though.but if im not mistaken they are built from same cutting platform.

still dont see a GCC Jaguar there so, im thinking no way you can get one for under 1900 on a 40" with a account. i think the 40"'s are going right now for 2700-3000 each.

  11. Thanks Levi! Printed and cut a few small samples yesterday after loading new ink. really nice machine..need to do some more tweaking but im impressed already Merry Christmas everyone!
  12. well i didnt list everything but it was just under 12k for everything and about another 2k on trip expenses(we went crazy buying indian jewelry in new mex)..if it wasnt for the gifts id say about 1k in trip cost. thanks everyone for the well wishes!
  13. well my wife sure isnt envious. shes furious!!!! I sold some investments I had and am taking a chance on something I love.
  14. pretty much! was a long, fast, expensive trip. But I have faith i can learn and make this work out. everyone said jump in feet first, so I did. SCARY AS HECK but i have faith!
  15. Ok, so i bought a cleancut 45 and a cleancut 60. both obviously cut waaaaay better than stock but still dont do what i want. im still pulling up fine detail on some things..... soooooooooooo im wondering could it be my vinyl? not tacky enough to hold down? what else should i try. i have played with blade length and such but am not having the luck i want.im considering selling this machine and buying a roland now and i dont want to spend more money. is it possible that vinyl plays a more vital role than blade angle and offset? if so, what vinyl should i use for super fine detail? -Jesse
  16. well....take pics of the guts of a graphtec holder. im sure its the quality of bearing making all the difference..I will look into it and see what i can do..I will start looking for bearings today. Im assuming it is basically same concept? blade in bearings? OR if graphtec is larger or smaller...maybe we could take a graptec holder and turn it down to fit the copam...or add a shim if its already smaller. =)
  17. if i knew exactly what the issues were i would make parts for us all. I have a full cnc machine shop 4 cnc lathes, 6 cnc mills. The problem is, I dont know what my problem is.. is it blade holder? is it cutting strip? is it something else? sooo frustrating
  18. I'm thoroughly convinced that in my case, my cutting strip is the cause of my problems. It just looks to the naked eye to be sticking up too far and when I run my fingers across the length of it, I can feel the variations in height. If it weren't for the fact that my 30 days was up 5 days ago, I'd ask for an exchange or refund. WELL my cutting strip sticks up as well. is it supposed to be flush? 1/8" high? 1/4" high? wish we could get some solid answers. I want nothing more than for this machine to perform with precision and i would even buy the largest one they have.
  19. seems kst8catfan and I are having same issues.
  20. hey guys, This weekend I am picking up a Roland Sp-300V....could I get by with a BS for laminating graphics then contour cutting them? or would I need to get a actual lam machine? I have stretched my budget so incredibly far, that if I could use a BS for now or forever it would really make life easier! just wondering if it would work for this bc I think I read it is not to be used for lam graphics you intend to contour. any help?anyone who does this?
  21. I will order some and try it. Its about the only thing I can do now lol.I just put a deposit down on a roland sp-300v so i may end up selling the copam very soon. I wanted to keep it as a main vinyl cutter but if i cant get it to cut fine detail it does me no good =(. Ill try Fdc
  22. still no luck on fine detail =/ been talking to Levi@ support but i just cant get it to do what im wanting. if anyone has any tips, please let me know.
  23. forgot to add, i did successfully cut some detail designs and then the next day, no luck. just doesnt repeat. this is also what made me question the vinyl but im all =( now what about this holder? is it more precision? bearings? anyone know? http://www.uscutterdirect.com/Blade-Holder-For-COPAM-Vinyl-Cutter_p_19.html
  24. EXACTLY the same thing im thinking now. just went and spent freaking 10 dollars on a tiny piece of 651 they sell for cricuts at the craft store. tried a thin lined sparrow...pulled up his tail feathers. this is getting depressing. I saw a post on here from a lady who has a 2500 and she cuts detail designs the size of a dime it almost. I pm'd her but she never would pm me back on how she was able to do that. I guess thats top secret info? lol If Uscutter still has that 90day return offer on copams im just going to return it and send them $$ for a ce-5000 or roland. I would really rather find a solution though. I hate buying things twice.
  25. blade barely out cant really cut over 50g force 10cm cut speed<--i think thats right. whatever the slowest is. offset has been played with from .25-0 I dont think offset has anything to do with it. the cuts connect and are complete but if im doing fine lines or small text or even large text that has thin letters, it wants to pull up. I bought this cutter bc of the good reviews but now im questioning this. Im not saying it isnt a good cutter, its just not doing what i need it to do. graphtechs and rolands apprently have no issue doing what i want. so is it the blade holder and bearings? I would even order a precision holder and bearings if i knew it would solve it. I am at a loss right now with ideas...thats why i asked if the brand of vinyl had anything to do with it. I bought some briteline from grimco..id like to say it sucks and thats my issue but until i go buy some oracal i cant say that.
