    Lost File Previews in SB

Have been using SB for awhile now but last week when I went to open some saved SB files in SB there were no previews of the files and SB hung up. What happened? Anyone else have this problem? Do I need to re-install SB? Have I lost the preview thumbs forever?? Sue2

    Lost File Previews in SB

You may be onto something there...that computer is XP and I think I had to install Service Pack 3 a few weeks ago for a new printer. I'll have to look. Sue2

    Lost File Previews in SB

Of course I tried the Universal Computer Fix...restart. Just plain strange....I guess I'll have to re-install and hope. It's not unworkable, files from the file manager will open...but it's nice to see what's in the file before opening. I worry that I'll have to replace SB because it won't be able to deal with newer software. Like the newer eps files....the program will have more and more problems as time goes by unless it is upgraded. Sue2

    Lost File Previews in SB

My version has a "No Preview" check box but that is not checked. When I select open only about 8 files have a preview and the rest have "No Preview", "File Size" and file name....but no thumbnail of the file.

    Need help with image

Re-typing IS the "easier, quicker way!" You don't want to clean-up all the nodes on a trace like that. OCR probably wouldn't work on something that big with those colors. Sue2

If you google "old time barber shop" images, there are a bunch of outside building shots that may give you some more ideas. Sue2

    Help understanding

In Corel, ungroup your graphic then go to the VIEW drop down menu and click on Wireframe. Now all you will see are outlines of the objects on your page...no fills. These outlines are the cut lines for your cutter. If your object has both line and fill, you will see this in wireframe view and you can eliminate those extra cut lines. If the extra layers are exactly on top of one another you won't see them until you delete one. If you select one object, hit delete and the outline remains...you have hidden layers. Delete until you get to only one. If you remember that what you see in wireframe is EXACTLY where your cutter blade is going you can correct many things before ruining good vinyl. Sue2
  12. Oh yeah...my Hotronics is on a nice heavy duty wheeled cart.... BUT, it's the closing the top that gets harder and harder every year! Is there a fix for that??? Sue2
  13. You probably have outlines around your object and unless you eliminate them that info will be sent to the cutter and the cutter will cut them. Delete the outlines and you will be fine. WIREFRAME view is great for showing you cut lines. Always check WIREFRAME before cutting. In Corel, go to the VIEW drop down menu and select wireframe. The colors and fills will dissapear and all you will see are the CUT lines. Delete what you don't want to cut. Sue2

    Headboard vector images?

Make it yourself. You only have to make half then mirror/weld. If you look at it closely, there are are a bunch of "S" scrolls and "C" scrolls piled on top of each other. The base too is a repeat pattern. Sue2

    Help cutter just stops!!!!

I have problems with my LP24 cutter stopping when my computer monitor goes to sleep mode. I am using SignBlazer and the screen shows cut info still being sent to the cutter but the cutter does nothing. I'm using a USB connection. Sue2

    Clean Cut Blades = AWESOME!

I switched to a CC blade on my LP 24 and it made a big difference in cutting the fine details and small stuff. My pressure setting went down about 25%. Well worth the few extra $$. Sue2

    Need Help making vector cutable

Help us...What is it supposed to look like in the end? "U" one color, circle another (or is there a fill and a circle?) are the feathers a third color? It sure isn't cut ready! First, delete the white background. Most of your objects have a stroke (outline) around them...they need to be deleted. If you view your art in outline or wireframe you will see that your feathers are in several pieces they need to be combined if they are all one color. Probably easiest to trace the feathers and delete the original mess of fills, strokes and pieces. Sue2

    Graphtec or Roland gx-24?

Ordway is offering it on Ebay with Mfg. 3 year warranty. That is a good deal on the refurbished Graphtec on US Cutter. If you need CorelDraw X3 and the vinyl starter kit. Sue2

    Graphtec or Roland gx-24?

Thanks Skeeter...I saw that one....but, for $1400...by the time you replace the missing parts, I could have a NEW one for a couple of hundred more and have the 3 year warranty. Right now a new CE 5000-60 with stand is $1700 which includes a 3 year warranty, stand and a bunch of goodies thrown in. Sue2

    Graphtec or Roland gx-24?

I guess I should have said I'm looking for something similar to what the OP was considering. Something along the lines of 24" Graphtec CE 5000. Don't need/want bigger or the smaller 15" Craft Robo Pro and those seem to be all that is around. I'll probably just hang in there and save a bit more to buy new. Sue2

    Graphtec or Roland gx-24?

You probably can't go wrong with either...of course there IS a significant price difference between the two new. That said, I have noticed there are quite a few used Rolands for sale but very few Graphtecs. Is this because more Rolands are sold or that people hang on to their Graphtecs? I have been watching for a nice used Graphtec for many months and haven't seen one...but many Rolands.
