Can anyone get Inkscape to open this .eps file

I couldn't open the file either....good job Dr 12! Yup...people seem to think just stuffing that jpg into an eps file makes it right. Can't count how many I've gotten that way. In fact, when someone comes up with an eps file, I suspect right away that it's NOT. In a turn-around, last week I got a file that was obviously a poor trace that someone saved as a jpeg. I asked and finally got the original trace file to fix. Sue2

Your graphic isn't very good....but here is a trace of the two letters. Sue2 18BR.eps
  4. With heat press vinyl it is sometimes near impossible to see the cuts. I find ThermoFlex harder to weed than Sisser. Take your piece of vinyl and hold it up against a bright light source... a light table would be nice but even a flashlight will work to show the cuts. It can drive you crazy just trying to SEE the cut lines. I've seen suggestions to put the vinyl piece in the refrigerator or freezer for a bit to show the cut lines...never tried that. Sue2

Cutter peeling up vinyl while cutting

Yes...I have had that happen when there are duplicate cut lines. Check your graphic and be sure you don't have double image or outlines. Sue2 Darn Scott......that makes me want that Graphtec NOW!!!

    A office wall I did .

Nice job.... the glazing is perfect to warm the overall design. The only thing I would change is the windows look empty. In my mind I need a garden or something to be out there beyond the window panes. Sue2

    Need a HOT DOG vector

Yeah them weenies are nice as far as vector art goes... BUT, S&D is right. That's a lot of cutting & weeding for $12. PLUS, the FULL COLOR decals will sell more hotdogs! Tell them to pick the most mouth watering looking hotdog pix. Hmmm, now I'm hungry. Sue2

How to make Wall Decal from a picture?

You can do it yourself.....a lot depends on the photo. If you have Photoshop here is a good tutorial... but it takes practice and a photo with decent contrast. http://www.howtogeek...l-in-photoshop/ Sue2

    eBay purchase of CorelDRAW X6

To begin with, I won't buy from any eBay seller with PRIVATE feedback even if it's 100% like this sellers. Second, if he has been selling the same keycode for months, I would ask eBay why his feedback is 100%. Has no one registered a complaint? Has he found a way around the eBay system? Something more is fishy here. You should be covered by eBay Buyer Protection and if you paid with PayPal you can enter a dispute. Hope you get him! Let us know how it all comes out. Sue2

    1st cuts for my truck...

Yes, S&D was right on the money with all points. The first thing I noticed was the tilt on the back side windows. It's hard to "do" straight on most vehicles.... they aren't created with straight lines. The coffee cup logo could be bolder....it seems too lightweight... play with the nodes and see if you can make the outlines thicker which will make it stand out better. Plus, just a thought, I seldom see anyone using a cup & saucer except at a restaurant... most people use mugs now. BUT, it may not work using a mug ..... you could try it and see. The cup & saucer is kind of universal...so just making it more substantial may be what is needed. The mix of fonts doesn't blend well together....use fewer fonts.... and again, stay away from narrow-fine fonts. Remember, you want people to READ this from maybe 30-50 feet away and while you are moving. Make it easy to read. Drop the "www" for the most part it is unnecessary now and the website is easier to read-recognize-remember without it. Don't feel bad...feel lucky to have all these FREE advisors! Sue2

    Vectorize size help please

More thoughts on this........ Your customer may have a vector file already and just doesn't know it. Ask them who created the file, and if there were other sizes or files provided they couldn't open (eps, ai, cdr, svg). If they say wife or kid or niece or friend....you are probably out of luck and will have to recreate it. I have good luck asking them if they ever had a sign or banner made for their company...often whoever made that has a vector. Explain to your customer that your estimate did not include recreating their logo. but,you can recreate it as close as possible for an additional fee. It is amazing how many "find" those files "they couldn't open" when more money enters the picture. Sue2

    Vectorize size help please

With such a small low resolution file you are not going to get detail. It's not there. You need to ask your customer to provide a larger logo in order to recreate the trees and bushes. The type, the boxes and oval should be remade not traced. Sue2

EPS Files Showing Up As Black Box

Unfortunately there have been no upgrades to SignBlazer for many years because the original developer/programer died. Unless someone comes along and updates SB, it will become obsolete. Not being able to open the newer eps files is a real problem. Why spend time learning a program that will be more and more difficult to use as time goes by? For an inexpensive entry level program you might look into "Sure Cuts A Lot" that US Cutter sells. It has had good reviews. Or bite the bullet, spend a little more and get an older copy of CorelDraw (X3 or X4) and learn how to use that...you won't regret it. Sue2

    Vectorize size help please

You know...looking at this logo, it is two boxes, an oval, some type and some trees & bushes. So, really the only things you need to vector are the trees and bushes. BUT, the good news is the trees & bushes look like clipart pieces. So, you can easily recreate most of the logo and go searching for some trees and bushes or just trace those. Sue2

    What would you charge?

It's hard for anyone to give you an answer here... you don't mention if your designs are one color or several, or what brand/quality shirt you will want. When deciding on whether to oursource or DIY, you have to consider your costs, the time-frame you are dealing with and what other jobs you have inhouse. Cutting, weeding and pressing two sides per shirt is time consuming. Add up the cost of the shirts, the vinyls, electricity, design time & your labor to get your base cost per shirt. You can search online retailers to find the bottom line price for oursourcing the shirts and then decide if you can make money by just marking them up. But check the quality of the finished product as YOU will get the credit /blame for GOOD or BAD work. AND, you are depending on a timely delivery of goods...what will happen if the order gets lost, is the wrong color imprint or shirt, sizes are wrong.....etc? As far as pricing...a lot depends on what you consider "good money".... t-shirts are not a big money maker unless your customer is in a pinch and NEEDS THEM NOW! Remember, your customer can use the many cheap online sites to design & order their shirts but the turn-around & shipping time is usually longer then they want....so they come to you! Good Luck! Sue2

  24. Yes, looks like they have made some needed upgrades. The third pinch roller and finer grit rollers are really needed. Job Memory, on the move adjustment of cutting force and speed are nice additions. A good entry level if you can't afford the Copam, Graphtec or Roland. BUT be warned...you WILL want to upgrade as you get more business. Again, buy the best you can afford. Be aware that you will probably want to upgrade within 1 year. Sue2
