If I've read these two threads correctly, your cutting issues are the result of the files sent to SignCut having more cut lines than desired and now resolved?

If you wonder why the Post Office is bleeding money
edge replied to BannerJohn's topic in Off Topic Section
I'll bet the truck from Knoxville to Johnson City was full and policy dictated it had to go somewhere... Seriously, all it took was for one mis-sort in Knoxville to start this chain of events. Most people might reasonablly think; ok so it should route directly back to Johnson City via Knoxville. But volume and flow can and will cause deviation of what many would believe to be the most direct route; often depending on means of transport whether that be plane, train, or automobile. Class of mail will also factor into this equation and that may very well be what has happened on the return trip in this case if the parcel was shipped at book rate. Did somebody say something about health insurance? -
Time limit for corrections?
edge replied to Dbannon's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
I'm sure you are aware this lady could just as easily spend the future telling others about their sign guy that didn't know how to spell and how she didn't let him get away with his mistake. Which in my opinion would not be a recommendation. I believe one should present a printed proof for prior approval with language stating the client is accepting content as presented. Then if a sign maker chooses to make a correction at no charge, the client is certain to know you went above and beyond. If one is willing to warranty in writing a correction for 30 or 60 days; if I were a client, I'd question why not 120 days? Quite some years ago our father opened a business that had signage suppied by a local soft drink bottler. One half of the sign was hung upside down. Father was astute enough to contact the local paper and they subsequently ran a photo with caption implying the sign guy most certainly must have been distracted while up in the bucket; by a pair of legs in the parking lot. The bottler was back out ASAP to correct the error at their insistance. I'm sure by now most have heard of the South Bend Pubic School billboard fiasco, mistakes can and will be made by everyone. -
Have been cutting from a Dell Vostro (Sempron) Windows XP with SignCut X2. Last April when my three years expired I upgraded to the dongle and current version of SignCut. Did attempt to also install SignBlazer on this same machine several years ago; had issues of driver conflict in my case and decided it simpler to use SignBlazer(rarely) on another machine. I jammed as much ram into the laptop as I could afford at the time.

While I don't use SignBlazer (free) to design or cut from; I do keep it on an xtra computer for no reason other than to occasionally grab a design element for export from it's library. You will find the red circle with the slanted line among it's sign elements.

Wireless USB connection?
edge replied to VolleyChick's topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Support Requests
You know what... I haven't posted anything here after the move that I've desired to remove. So I thought hey why not type in an embarrassing response that I would then have the motivation to find a means to remove. Uh you got a XXXXXX XXXX XX XX along with your XXXXXXX? Hmmmm..thus far I can only edit; not remove. -
The Brands of the World logo linked to above is for the National Eagle Scout Assoc which is a seperate entity apart from BSA. This is the most common image used in North America by BSA for the Eagle Scout Badge, according to my inhouse sources. Sorry I do not have it in vector

Wow I had to double take to insure I was actually on the US Cutter forum as for a fleeting moment I thought I might be at some GC Cutter site or something. If your intentions are to cut only for your needs and you don't have a desire to invest a good amount of time or $ in learning and retaining that familarity in new software. I'd suggest you look at something like http://www.uscutter.com/Graphtec-Quickutz-Silhouette-SD-Craft-Cutter-formerly-CraftROBO_p_1287.html. While it carries a size limitation, there are simple work arounds to overcome this if need arises. Now for the real reason to consider this machine. It come with great software that allows you to either design and cut from or to EASILY bridge (launch) from Corel. This is so much more than just a machine for hobbiests. One can spend $180 or $300+ for a machine that gathers dust 11 months of the years; what makes more sense?

Signs for a Dealership my buddy's dad works at....
edge replied to xJoey Dubsx's topic in Show your work
Does Spitzer still deface every vehicle they sell with the chrome 'Spitzer' 3D logo on the trunk lid? Good job on the signs. I'm kinda surprised they didn't have facilities in-house to perform this task. -
How to get the white printed portion off these cups....
edge replied to xJoey Dubsx's topic in Other Materials
If removal proves futile, you could consider adding a heavy white background to any new design for the cups. -
Was searching to see what version of Corel you have, as I didn't understand why you would not just launch SignCut from Corel for cutting. Is it X5 and that's the reason? In any event in addition to exporting and importing; rather than just saving and opening a project you might want to insure the project does not have any bitmap elements remaining which will cause issues in SignCut.

Is that the press that was shipped bolted to a sheet of plywood in the bottom of the carton and packed with cotton bunting for impact protection that was discussed in this thread? http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php/topic,26091.15.html Plywood, unlike shipping foam does not contain any impact absorbation quality. Cotton bunting would only offer appearance of filling a void. To state it was packed great is exaggerated.

I concure with your assessment of these smaller "Hobbiest" cutters being capable workhorses. In addition to a Copam, I have a CC200 that I've used in the past to cut vegetable fiber engine gaskets. Found the multiple pass option in the Graphtec Cut Master Software useful for this.

need help with corel draw x5 and signcut productivity pro v.1.09
edge replied to paval's topic in Competitor Cutter Help
Prior to exporting from Corel, if you change your screen view in Corel from normal to wireframe do the xtra cut lines appear? -
You might give the CraftRobo CC330-20L consideration. I understand they offer MAC plug-ins for the full version of Adobe (AI) and the cutting width would be close to that required for producing two rows of 3" boat registration numbers/letters.

HORRIBLE first and probably LAST experience with Signcut customer support
edge replied to Rossm812's topic in Signcut
When ROSS stated he purchased part of a sign business, what happened to the other part of the business that he did not purchase? I believe DMAX summed up the rest of what I would add.... -
I think the word convoluted has too many interpretations when applied to the problems you've experienced to successfully cutting with what you have. I think with the new budget you've expressed, you're limitations will probably find you where you currently are, if the problems lay in inexperience rather than machine shortcomings; but with even less $. Enlighten me, what does convoluted with regard to your cutter mean to you?

SignCut does have the free trial that should allow you to cut prior to getting the auth. code sorted out.

Having some problems with sign cut!
edge replied to Finish Line Grafix's topic in General discussion
What version of Corel and Signcut are you using? What operating system with how much ram? Are you launching SignCut with the toolbar 'rocket' in Corel or manually exporting/importing? -
Have had a Copam 2500 for 3+ years driven by a Dell VOSTROS laptop using an OfficeMax acquired USB to serial cable without any of the issues you mention. I figure there are many others like myself that aren't likely to post what I've just said as there is really no reason to make that proclaimation. Do you see what I'm getting at? Sure there wil be incidence of issues that you'll MOST certainly read about. I suspect they are still in the minority in spite of prevelance. If after reading this you are uncertain of my objectivity...I can go on a rant about the Laserpoint I had for 29 days...if that would help.

At first the 36 hour thing sounded tempting especially if those states had better climate than I currently experience. But on further thought, I realize the xtra 12 hours would probably just increase my daily workload.....

I briefly browse here almost daily after checking emails. When able to offer fresh insight, I'll post. I do not feel a desire to repeat advice or comments offered by others in many discussions just to chime in, I'll make exception in this case . My question is how do those of you that desire to spent precious time discussing issues like this find the time to perform all the other tasks normally associated with daily life?

I am not familar with the power grid in Portugal. What type of electrical system do they incorporate?

measuring problems

I have also experienced this if the backer on the vinyl is too dark to reflect light back to the cutter sensor. -
Yet another Copam tracking anomaly
edge replied to markmystuff's topic in Copam Cutting Plotter Discussion
What happens if you manually feed the material from the control panel after reading the width, prior to cutting? Does it still skew or is it a direct result of the cutting influence on the heavier material?
