If anyone does go for the TI 99-4A, I'd recommend the expansion box to accomidate a floppy drive.

Thinking about purchasing Graphtec CE 6000 60, questions!
edge replied to shaysmom's topic in Pre-sale questions
Even the CraftRobo would handle 110# paper stock in that size well. One caveat to the carrier sheet...the most recent purchase of CriCut branded product I have is reluctant to release the project and has a propensity to peel paper. Maybe it was just a bad batch? -
Several threads recently got me in the Holiday spirit; yet I felt sumthang was still missing. So with slight modification to a common image, I submit this as decoration done for a bird seed can we keep in the yard.

Shipping failure
edge replied to Ravenwind / One Off Grafx's topic in Criticism and Complaints about USCutter
I have NO expectations for the Friday following Thanksgiving as I've learned no matter how many days a parcel/package company is closed for Thanksgiving, the following week in the industry will be chaos. Coming thru Indy last nite I passed a hub for one of these companies and witnessed almost 20 sets of those doubles idling on the street waiting entry into the facility. All bets are off when it comes to shipping packages between now and Dec 23. Wecome to America, I hope you enjoy your stay and if it's for more than one year, you may want to mark your calendar for next year accordingly. -
For those who do not want their vinyl setting outside in cold weather; how much warmer do you think the cargo compartments are in a delivery vehicle this time of year? Should a package be driver released to a location as in this case, the burden of delivery proof falls to the parcel delivery company and then to the seller. Should the parcel never be found, the loss would not be your's as the recipient. It's almost comical that we see some here complaining about usage of a horn used to inform delivery and others of no audible indication that a parcel was delivered. When a consensous is reached among yourselves, let me know the outcome and I'll pass that along to the drivers I know. I'm sure this time of year while they're making 150+ stops per day, they'll appreciate another al carte tidbit added to their plate.

What does your Ranger "Transform" into? I've got an 02 Splash with the 2.3 twin overhead engine that I can't seem to stop driving.

Meanwhile 35 miles away in Berrien County this morning..... just saying it could be worse.

For selling something based on visual presentation, their images in the first link sure don't present very well on my screen. Then again maybe it's just this cheap Chineeze netbook causing that -
In all this discussion I have yet to see serious reference made to a business plan. In my mind a move like this would be destined for rapid failure if current assets forced one to ponder where the rent might come from in X number of months should business not grow to sustain the move. Granted with risk comes reward, and dreams are meant to be fullfilled. But for those of you considering a storefront move on limited budget; how would you be better off if you could not sustain the move thru winter other than be a bit wiser?

Now you've gone and caused me to question everything I've ever been told, as I thought it was a curve.

This AI file fails as corrupted when attempting to imported into Corel X3. Is that because it is likely an ubber newer version of AI or sumthang else?

They look good; what's with the ice showers at the Lodge ? ; )

Unless those very same now bloated cattle are being rendered into fertilizer down at the plant. Sometimes a fresh stick of gum couldn't even prevent me from gagging while passing near that place. The stench has been gone for a couple years now and I've been told it's because they moved; I haven't been inclined to find out where to........

Starting up a business. Recommendations Graphtec CE6000 24" or Vinyl express Qe 6000
edge replied to katchilds's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
At the Apprentice price? I see the Qe6000 info states Windows OS only, are there Apple emulators that allow overriding this issue?- 28 replies

As Jay stated, if buying the Vinyl Express one should insure it is the new model with the ARMS included. While both machines may be of essentially the same design, it has never been clear to me if the Qe6000 is fully compatable with the Graphtec drivers or if it has board modification dedicating it to slightly a different Lxi branded driver ? As you are new to this, if your choices end up being close in $, the Graphtec will have more interweb discussion/support and any issue of possible dissimilarity between machines would be moot. With design and bridging software, you get what you pay for. If your budget is tight, perhaps you'd be well off starting with something like Signblaser. You Mac users; while a loyal bunch.....are still a minority. There is a wealth of info pertaining to that 'cult' and their struggles on this forum, it's well worth an afternoon of consumption.- 28 replies

lost usps packages
edge replied to Dakotagrafx's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
Guess that's still better than them having your mug shot on the wall and everyone finding it......oh boy did I really just say that? The whole bunch of them should be forced to take "service" out of their names. as it seems so rare to find that in their offerings these days. -
When the red was contoured around the black, the a,y.& d lost their inner shape; that happens. Honestly it looks good...so don't beat yourself up over it; but you did ask what you could have done better. You probably could have either opened these letters up to match the black or closed the holes entirely. When I cut sumthang simple the first time for a coworker, I usually do it slightly cheaper than I should to install in their mind that they got a really good deal....it goes a long way in getting repeat business from them or another coworker they in turn guide to me by virtue of their bragging. ; ) Walking around our workplace the other day, it finally dawned on me how much I had actually cut for others out of the pure pleasure of doing it......but that's not to say I didn't also profit. WoooHoooo look at that, it's my 500th post; what did I win?
-
You have peaked my curiousity by using stars as registration marks? While realizing we are using different products, In Corel X3 one creates a box defining a perimeter around the project and from there launches a registration mark creator in CuttingMaster II which transforms the box into three registration corners for the ARMS to read. Are the set-ups that much different? With CuttingMaster II multiple colors can be on the same layer as when it comes time to cut, the option of which color or colors to cut is presented.

I'm told it's even less expensive if you place your trash out next to the neighbor's can without getting caught. Uh ok... am I busted? Actually our county landfill allows up to three 39gal bags of trash (one trip only) per residence without charge per week.

Another how would you handle this...
edge replied to Coaster36's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
Or this could be a win win for all parties. What's wrong with telling him you are not familar with his product (after looking at it) and offering to do one as a trial at an agreed upon price to see if it meets the satisfaction of all parties involved before commiting to all? -
Could somebody help me here, I tried to convert this to a .cdr file and get nuthin.

Oops...I'm bad. I know the triangle of LaGrange, Noble, & Kamakazie Counties better than I've lead on with that question, thanks.

You know the more I look at that photo, I can't help but wonder if it ain't an Amish compressed air tank. Have they got any Amish 'Mafia' in Ligonier?
-
Petrolane? has used green tanks at least this dark for years around here. Now there could I suppose be a problem if it's a leased and not purchased tank. All your examples look good.
