You look familiar, didn't we bump into each other at Shula's back in oh.... gosh, bout 1974? Then again, maybe it was The Heidelberg. Welcome to the forum

If you desire to keep this project entirely in house and expect the cup to be displayed only. Print on contour cut white water slide decal and seal with clear vinyl when set.

I don't see the day of a shop renting one for client designed DIY objects anytime soon, from what I've read many design elements require bridging and layer (thickness, speed) modification that one without background would overlook, which without would result in failure. Most of the lower cost machine that I've heard about on associated forums still require a good deal of pre-tinkering to produce acceptable product. Read just this week one of the area libraries has dedicated space to a soon to be opened design area which includes a MakerBot. Projected cost for one to make a braclet was less than $2, didn't state the material. Gotta wonder how soon before that machine goes down due to someone knocking an axis out of alignment. I do see the day fast approaching where someone will market a sealed viewable vending cabinet with predetermined menu of designs to select from to place in a retail lobby or Museum..

My "office" is below grade in the Midwest and neither the equipment, supplies, nor my self esteem are any worse for the experience. However I do dehumidify during the summer and the move was made on my own; not the result of another's edict, so you may experience different results.

Making Offensive decals
edge replied to jrileygraphics's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
To not cut graphic or message which one finds offensive is no more censorship than not giving money to another would be denying them prosperity. They still have the opportunity to go elsewhere for what they seek. If one displays dignity and professionalism when dealing with consumer issue such as this; fear of future business repercussion is unfounded. Sadly, based on what I witness, too few bikers today attempt to emulate the example Howard Ogaard apparently set. -
For those of you with a camera equipped drone or copter, do the neighbors share your enthusiasm ?

Email Addresses, am I in a minority....
edge posted a topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
Am I in a minority when I look at Gmail or other free svc email on examples posted in this forum and think " Uh Huh..."? Am I among the few who believe it doesn't give impression one is fully commited to their business, the same as they would be if a business name is used as the email domain? -
Thinking of changing cell phone carriers
edge replied to MadHatterGraphix's topic in Off Topic Section
From what I've read the phones can be tethered or set-up wirelessly via the JokiuSpot app. However it would violate their terms of service and at 12.5 Gb per month you would likely be flagged for potential phone account termination. -
Thinking of changing cell phone carriers
edge replied to MadHatterGraphix's topic in Off Topic Section
I can't fathom T Mobile supplying a Galaxy 5 and paying early termination fee(s) without locking you in to a lengthy contract. With regard to another comment in this thread, I've been a happy customer of Boost for several years with unlimited talk, text, & web. However I did read a blurb that begining in May if one exceeds 2.5 Gb, they will throttle you back to 2G (didn't realize 2G still existed) Got the folks a StraightTalk (Verizon) Home Phone Module (unlimited voice only) last month for $15 a month. All I can say is thank you StraightTalk for selling such a simple device that doesn't require giving repeated lessons on use........... -
I'd warn that someday people with that level of intelligence will be running this country; if I didn't feel it was already too late.

Finally got this Netbook ((Atom Ant) N450 1.6 Ghz) where I wanted with new RAM, install of upgraded Windows 7 Home Premium and new device software, so I threw caution to the wind today and cloned a PNY XLR8 as the HD. Let the countdown clock begin. Still waiting for that mind boggling boot up that failed to show...not that's it's ever been shabby; just wanted better, know what I mean. Then again, one who depends on an Atom N450 shouldn't really have great expectations to begin with. On the plus side have noticed the machine appears to be running much cooler,

Ideas for advertising on a sedan?
edge replied to lilypoo's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
If you are not willing to risk paint fade in order for your business to grow, why not just keep it simple by displaying a web domain and phone number on the glass? -
What's the graphic on the rear window?

Thank you. When I went in search of it as a free font yesterday, Webroot warned me to not follow the links provided on many of the results, and I noticed on one site that appeared ok, it had shown as removed at font owners request. Probably a case of me being overcautious. Again thank you

That's it, thank you. The image I have is a thumbnail that does not vectorize well for me in Inkscape. Would anyone who has Serpentine Italic be willing to type out "Store.com" and convert it to a vector file? I now see Monotype wants $20 for this font and while the venison sausage my coworker offered to trade for a sticker with that to put on his wheelie car is mighty tasty; it ain't good enough to spend $20 for a font that I'll likely never use again.

Tell ya it was a ruff day without my forum fix; but I'm good to go now.

Here I am already walking on unstable ground as of April 8th with virtually everything owned running WIN XP, only to discover via this thread that hotrodding the netbook (WIN 7 starter) for all interwebz browzing is just as much in threat of collapse from different failure. After looking at new, then rebuilt WIN 7 machines from every source I could think of for the past blurry eyed week; decided to damn the torpedeos and go full speed ahead with OS, RAM, & HD upgrade* on the cheapest machine currently owned. Just to be on the safe side should I order a couple more SSD as back-up? * Yea I know that's akin to lipstick on a pig

Aw Geez... quit it, you're scaring me with these short life expectations. I just ordered a PNY XLR8 this morning for a netbook and now you got me believing the sky could fall at any moment. Then again, there isn't really a lot to lose on this netbook that couldn't be recovered from the original hd.

I have refrained from commenting as examples of this image has evolved, because honestly it's far better than I could have produced. Have however wondered if changing the color of her apparel might help to distinguish the body from the firewall of the car?

Is sign-making a male-dominated business?
edge replied to lilypoo's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
IMHO, the direct answer to the question posed in this thread's title would be yes. -
Yep, got mine at TSC in a short cardboard barrel. While alum oxide may maintain it's abrasive quality forever, if you're like me you won't be able to resist using it for projects other than glass etching which could result in contamination by grease, paint, or who knows what (from my experience) . Just saying... it wouldn't hurt to buy enough to refill the cabinet at least one time while you're at it.

Looking at buying an enclosed cargo trailer..
edge replied to gcextreme's topic in General discussion
I live between Haulmark's two mfg sites and can unequivocally state they are considered a well built trailer when compared to some of the others around here. Suspect you'll appreciate the swing doors over a ramped door the first time you get caught out in the rain while load/unloading. Have seen a good many torsioned axles returned for warranty in the tent camper industry mostly because that type of trailer is often loaded beyond the axle's rating resulting in damage to the rubber damper. With the cost advantage of torsioned axles, I would be hard pressed to name a brand that still used leaf spring suspension for the size of trailer you ended up with. Does it have functioning brakes?
