Trouble finding artwork when importing from inkscape

I believe Signblazer will only import vectors in .ps .eps and .ai. Give .eps a try and see if there is a difference.

    COREL X4 LOADING PROBLEMS

Hmmm...Found this at http://coreldraw.com/forums If it doesn't help, then you'll probably need to consult that forum. The actual thread for this was http://coreldraw.com/forums/t/3868.aspx Delete all Corel X4 files in the program directory... 3. I would but he's got the feds working on it. :) I think I am gonna call the ATF about someone throwing beer cans in my yard. If the cans have a deposit...why would you wanna ruin a good thing?
  4. There's not much I could add to this thread that hasn't already been expressed....so, I'll just chuckle and be on my way.

    Roll Paper Cutter

Maybe for application paper, I don't believe the edge is sturdy enough to actually cut plastic (clear) application tape. Then again if you'd be satisfied with using the cutting edge to guide a knife, it could fit the bill.

    COREL X4 LOADING PROBLEMS

Try another uninstall > install... Prior to reinstalling, look in program files to determine if a Corel folder remains in spite of the uninstall containing information for the trial.

can I print on vinyl with epson wf1100

I'm currently using ImageStixx for this purpose in sheets and wondering if MacTac is all that different or if perhaps ImageStixx is in reality MacTac cut down and remarketed? Using pigmented ink without any protective layer or coating I've had success with it lasting 12+ mo with moderate UV fade. However the product easily tears upon removal attempt at that point.

can I print on vinyl with epson wf1100

Does the coating on MacTac to enable printing give the vinyl a matte or gloss finish? Does this type of vinyl offer the same resistance to tearing as other conventional 4 mil vinyls?

IM A NEWBIE, WITH A BIG TASK

If you truly desire to create a single layer decal from the remaining design, it would almost need to be printed onto a suitable vinyl and then contour cut around the outline. Is that something you desire to do?

    HELLO FROM THE MIDWEST!!

http://www.brandsoftheworld.com is a good place to start for creative ideas. Should you have any specific questions regarding the cutting process, there is usually someone here to supply an answer. Welcome to the forum.

converting a jpeg so I can cut this logo

My suggestion would be to download Inkscape (FREE) for the purpose of converting the .JPG (pixel image) to .EPS (vector) which you would then import into Signblazer for cutting. Now understand... I'm trying to be sensitive when I say once you have succeeded in satisfying this customer, perhaps you should spend a bit more time familiarizing yourself with this process before soliciting new customers.

RE:XP when downloading graphics and eps files

Prior to saving the EPS in Inkscape are you deleting any pixelated image that may be present leaving only the vector? Failure to do so has caused problems in the past for me. You could upload a problematic sample EPS in a reply for someone to test ....

    Looking for Highway Signs

There are so many different shaped signs out there, that I'm not sure I understand your request. But if you mean you desire to create an inset outline that parallels the shape of any HWY sign, many editing programs will allow you to contour the object shape in multiple layers, which would then enable you to trim the layers, resulting in that line. Another option might be to look at DA font, or in SignBlazer's files.

    WHERE IS THE SERIAL NUMBER

It's been awhile since I purchased my cutter, it came with a flesh toned 'Purchase Ticket and License No.' that listed the code and instruction for registering SignCut. Perhaps a call to US Cutter for clarification is in order for you.

  17. Images of Indians are becoming like ash trays these days. Difficult to find and when you do; there's always someone ready to criticize you for using them. That said American Spirit cigarettes uses a pretty good Indian image. In the interim, these aren't exactly what you ask for, but..... My Stang.....

That's quite a challange, especially with all that 'BLING' (glare). While you may already know how to go about this, let me reply with an image showing the quick process for those that don't. Like I said this was quick and leaves a lot to be desired with detail. Stang.eps Stang.eps

SignCut Pro w/dongle on the fritz ??

I looked at the project in Corel giving me issues again and decided it may not be as flaw free as thought. Don't know if it's an open segment that I just don't see or whatever. Had the same project in SignBlazer, so that was a solution. Was gonna go with John's suggestion..then decided to look at my program files before hand. In spite of removing SignCut X2 thru the XP control panel previously, I found it's program file still there; just chocked full of stuff. Did another removal of it and SignCut Pro as I wondered about conflict between the two, then reinstalled Pro. McAfee apparently has only quarantined the suspect file during install. I suppose I should release the file, but Pro is back to cutting as it should with the exception of that one project...so I'm gonna leave things as they are for now. Thanks
  20. SignCut Pro w/dongle has been cutting fine until yesterday. Perhaps I errored in asking my computer to multitask by copying a vector to a thumb drive for another computer while actively cutting with SignCut...I don't know. I do know now midway into a cut, the copam has a mind of it's own, first it cuts long lines across the project, then it parks the blade to the side and scrolls the vinyl until I react. Checked to insure the file I was launching from Corel wasn't corrupt. Next I reinstalled SignCut Pro. None of the projects I tried are large and none exceed the vinyl parameters. Several times when I interrupt the bad cut; SignCut Pro has locked on me. Guess I'll have to ponder this overnight. As an aside, both times I've installed SignCut Pro, I get a quick flash that McAfee has blocked a Trojan. It flashes to fast for me to get all the details..however I don't think it's nefarious..but rather something associated with SignCut. Any suggestions?

    Look what UPS dropped off

What is your data source for tracking the amount of damage small parcel carriers experience, as it contradicts the industry claims? I know the parcel is marked with an over 70# sticker. I also know a sheet of plywood will offer no bottom cushion whatsoever. What I'm trying to impart here is if that parcel had the correct packing and cushioning, we would probably be discussing something other than a damaged press. Are all packages processed in the manner that they should be; NO. When you're dealing with huge volumes, the odds are damage is bound to occur. When you bolt a heavy press to a sheet of plywood in a recycled carton bound for any destination of distance; I can pretty well assure damage will occur. The real question I hope anyone reading this will ask is.... Do they want to argue against my position or do they desire to take steps to reduce damage to their parcels in the future?

Really? He may have thought that was an interesting ancedote to tell you at the time...I can assure you if he cracked jokes like that on the job, he would be soon seeking a new line of employment.

    Look what UPS dropped off

Yes .....if that's relevent. I don't care what small parcel carrier one chooses. If you approach any of them with that recycled carton filled with bunting and a sheet of plywood in the bottom to maintain integrity or whatever and ask them to pay a claim on a damage; you'll end up feeling insulted cause they're gonna laugh at you. The shipper may very well have used a UPS branded, independently owned shipping outlet......and if they did indeed assist him with the packing material; I'm curious to know what they said when he approached them after the damage occurred? Someone on the shipper's end needs to take responsibility here, it is after all the shipper that contracted with the carrier, which makes it the shipper's responsibility to initiate claim, you as a consignee are incidental to the carrier's business transaction. Look at that little printed circle on the carton declaring the "Box Certificate" weight ratings. I imagine for a carton of that size it's rated close to 200# crush when properly packed and when properly packed you'll find the carrier will have little choice but to pay a claim to the shipper when damage occurs...which is rare in that circumstance. Just in case you missed it above, bunting and plywood do not constitute properly packed. You've got to wonder what people are thinking when they have a poorly packed parcel, that appears to have a great deal of time spent on it writing for example: "This End Up" "Top Load Only" "Do Not Lay Flat" . Apparently they are oblivious to the fact that parcel will in all probability be residing with at least another 1000+ in a trailer loaded in under an hour; after being loaded from a conveyor in the random order they appeared.

    Look what UPS dropped off

Uh..What did the shipper say? Responsibility to pack an item correctly for shipment is the shippers. Responsibility to make claim for any damage with a shipment lays with the shipper. I've seen two posts in this thread that either state or imply the item was received damaged by the consignee and they were apparently willing to live with that, only to blame UPS later. Again, uh..what did the shipper say? If anything, I'd think you would willingly blame the shipper as much as the carrier...yet I don't see that.

So far the ones i've done have held up great.. I posted a video in the t-shirt threads.. Using my WorkForce 1100 and JPSS! Guess I didn't realize pigmented ink would transfer well to a mug, I've been under the impression sublimation ink was required for that to work well.
