Wow - this is perfect. I have a son-in-law that is crazy about hogs and BBQ. Any idea what font was used? I ran it though 'what the font' without a hit. Thanks, Mike

    Graphtec CE5000 Bundle

You have a good point and a different business model than I was thinking of. I was thinking of a more traditional store front, sign and graphics business rather than an e-business. I'm happy for you and other old guys - like me - that are creative and imaginative enough to re-invent themselves. I've worked in Banking for 37 years and enjoy doing things that are polar opposites of what I do all day. Keep up the good work. Mike

    Graphtec CE5000 Bundle

Good questions. I bought a cheap MH721 about 2 years ago and have had that time to learn the ins and outs of the trade. I wouldn't purchase the cheap cutter again as I think it is very marginal. Poor cuts, Crazy static problems that cause all sorts of troubles and noisy. I am eying the same cutter. I exclusively use Coreldraw for design and have been a dedicated Corel user for since version 2. I think it is the gold standard for design. I export to FlexiStarter for cutting. I am going to attempt to sell my cutter with 'bundle' for about 400-500 and keep the Graphtec. All the research I can find strongly recommends it. As far as making a business out of it, I don't know if you could make a decent living at it. I think competition and part timers like me really put pressures on margins. Good luck Mike

    Airbrushing 631?

As I am watching the Packers and Eagles, I came across the Copic Airbrush system. Looks cool but the markers are expensive. I have a traditional airbrush. What paint could I use to give some color to Oracal 631? Thanks, Mike Go Packers....

how would you go about this

Fun, Fun,Fun I just did a similar project for my granddaughter. Lets start with the dude and horse. First, cut the entire black background. Next cut the individual colors and overlay them on the black. I would lay this out in Coreldraw and cut with Flexistarter. The will take some time but is do-able. Good luck, Mike

    offset shadow..

Here's how to do this......Duplicate your text, then place and offset behind the original text. Now select the original text which is on top. Create an outline that equals the spacing between the text and shadow. Now convert this outline to an object CTRL-SFT-Q. Now you can subtract this new outline object from the text you placed in back by selecting just the outline and the back text. (arrange shaping back-minus-front). Bingo I love Coreldraw Mike

    Need help Please

I have the same cutter with Corel X3 - I us FlexiStarter 8.6 for a cutting program. I did use the SignCut program that came with the unit on a 1 year trial basis. I was notwilling to pay 100.00 to extend for another year. I bought Flexi for less than 100.00 from UScutter. I did like SignCut however, just too darn expensive for a cutting program. I believe there are ways to cut directly from Corel but to be honest.....It sounds like a pain. Plus a dedicated cutting program gives you so many added options like overcut, weeding lines, tiling, etc that Corel can't do. You should have received SignCut with your cutter....us it and you'll be happy for a year. Then switch to Flexi. Mike

    summa cutter not completing cuts

Check your software package to see if you need to increase the "overcut" value. I just ran into this when I changed from Signcut to Flexistarter. It worked for me. Mike

Ready to change cutter software, any advice?

I just quit Signcut - rather it quit me- as my one year free trial was over. I liked the cutting abilities with it but felt 100 bucks a year was too much. I purchased a copy of FlexiStarter from USCutter. I cut a wall decal with 8 colors today with Flexi and I feel I made the right move. I use CorelDraw X3 for all my design work so all I needed was a cutting program. I'll never look back Mike
  19. I have been using Sign Cut for the last year as it came with my MH721- It is adequate in cutting and I find I have to reboot alot to keep a signal going to the cutter between cuts - Could be a USB issue. I don't know if I want to spend $86 for a one year renewal or if a better program is available. I only cut with it as I design everything in CorelDraw. Any thoughts?? Thanks, Mike
  20. I'm running Windows 7-64bit......Seem like Flexistarter may be the way to go - I'll do some research.....I hate the annual fees on software and feel that the lifetime license fee is waaaay too much money for what this program is. Mike
  21. Maybe I should have phrased my question differently - I really only want to cut in the program - not design. I don't want to spend a ton but I haven't looked at SignBlazer (which came with the cutter). I'd love to cut out of Coreldraw Thanks Mike
  22. Hi - I want to cut a few small designs for my grandkids. I typically cut 651 at 12" rate and 70 grams pressure with the blade just showing. How do I set my 871 to cut this thicker product? TIA Mike
