Loosing Entire Design When Going To "Cutter"

If the artwork is in the pink window and it is still showing nothing or bits and pieces of your artwork when you go to the cut window you should reinstall SB. It's likely you have a corruption in the software causing it to get all funky. I hope you kept the disc image cos it is getting harder to find a download of SB.

Noob question on how to delete

Yeah, you can also select it and right click. You will see the remove button in the pop-up window.

    a newbie from S.E Melbourne , Australia

what the? G'day Vinyl Tree. Dakotagrafx was kindly showing you a versatile and cheap way to store your vinyls because you mentioned you are a one man show working from home. No need to get sarcy. I managed a sign company in Melbourne for a year, so I understand your confusion of random acts of kindness. - Now, I'm doing my own signs in Tokyo and doing quite well. Good luck with your business. Running a small business is pretty much the same as anything else. You only get out of it what you put into it. ガンバて ください!− Good luck!

    Help with USB driver installation

I have a suggestion: Ditch Artcut and use SignBlazer. I had exactly the same issues when I first got my cutter, which came with Artcut 09 and a USB driver. I tried half a dozen different drivers on three different PCs and could not get it to work via USB, although the serial connection was fine. However, after a bit of research on these forums I installed SignBlazer Elements on all my machines, connected the cutter via USB and away it went without any stuffing around. Personally, I find SignBlazer to be much better software anyway. Of course, all the stuff I had made in ArtCut is now useless, but it took me less time to reproduce them in SignBlazer than the amount if time I spent trying to get Artcut to work via USB. In my opinion, of course.

    Drawing contains a bitmap?

I've come across the same issue before and have not been able to figure out the answer. I used P/shop to convert a jpg to an eps, but get the same 'this contains bitmap' warning. I'm sure it is an issue of an analogue brain operating in a digital age. Would there be someone with the wisdom and kindness to help out please?

How to back up SB projects???

Woops! Now I feel like a double fool for figuring out the problem and replying to my own question. I just found the SBD files folder and have dragged to my external drive. What a dummy!

How to back up SB projects???

G'day all, This is my first question in these wonderfully informative forums. I searched for an answer in the threads but was unable to find one. I'm using SB elements (after launching the Artcut CD out the window) and am a little wary of how all my projects are stored within the software. If the PC crashes (as Windoze PCs often do) I'll lose the lot. Is there a way of backing up the projects to an external hard drive? Thank you in advance. Cheers!

art cut soft wear any idears

This is an easy question to answer. Don't use Artcut! Use SignBlazer and it will separate the colors in one click. It can be done in Artcut, but you will find you need to spend a bit of time tweaking the artwork in node edit. Just use SignBlazer.

    Anyone using artcut 2009?

Yep, Artcut 09 is garbage! It's a Chinese knock off of Flexi and a very poor one at that. It won't import all Photoshop EPS files. And, when it did import EPS files there were funky lines all over the place. The stored image gallery is huge and impossible to find a specific image. The font kerning is all over the place with many fonts, especially scripts and fixing it is nothing short of a time wasting pain in the butt. Did I mention I had a few crashes too? SignBlazer is the best I've used. Even FlexiPro has its downfalls. It seems to be way too complicated than it needs to be. SignBlazer is quick to use, has a pleasant interface and seems a lot more stable than Artcut. In my opinion, of course.
