Full length semi tractor decal install?? *Updated with pics of all 3 trucks 5-12*
88x replied to 88x's topic in General Help
Yeah it was alittle intimidating but it's just like installing many smaller decals. The longest one was 78" long. I dry installed everything except the back half of the hood (I center hinged it) I tried to do it dry but with the overall length and having the air filter housing and running in to everything else, I couldn't get it to lay down without sticking to itself. -
How does the cutting strip look? Does it sink down or is damaged where you are having trouble?

I use scalp also and have had this same issue but with a laserpoint II. I see in the lower right corner of the cutting mat, there is a what looks like more text. Even tho it's not on the cutting mat I have had it where the software will send that to the cutter even though it's off the mat. mine will just cut like crazy along the edge untill it reaches the amount of data that was sent and then go back and finish the design. Not sure if that is what you have but you could try cutting and pasting just what you want cut into a new page and seeing if it still does it. -
I don't use VM (SCALP for me) but is there somewhere (maybe where the drop down menu that currently says default) that says monochrome? Rather the colors that it's tracing in now?

I'm thinking of using it to transfer the level line along the sleeper to the hood since there's nothing there to go off of -
Here is my 1st attempt at lettering a race car. It was fun/challenging trying to layout the logos to the correct sizes to make them look ok. I learned a lot for next time.

Yep & @Dakotagrafx nailed it. They were super easy and very quick to knock out I used the company called Versatrans as they had a special running where you get 50% off up to a $100 for 1st time users. After they are done they have the same feel as screen printing. The green isn't quite as neon looking as siser. But they turned out nice I think

I ended up making a sale to him for 41 t-shirts also!! Thanks again to everyone that contributes their info on this forum. All the info I needed was right on here about the best way to go about producing that many of the same style shirt. Here's a picture of the shirts I completed this morning.

I just bought this exact heat press last week after following @Wildgooses recommendations. It came on Friday and I am very amazed at the quality of it for a Chinese press. I have yet to press anything on it, but it seems nice enough. I will mention that I bought the one from there eBay site as it was a bundle kit for $269.00 with Free shipping (it came with 2 shirts and 5 or so colors of vinyl). Vs the one on there for $249 + $45 shipping.

Here are a couple of Fire Trucks that I recently did. The regular cab truck I just replaced the door decals to match the rest of the trucks. (Even tho the truck in the back ground of the picture crew cab has the old style lettering) The rest of there trucks are like these 2

Incomplete cuts despite changes....white greenstar vinyl
88x replied to signmike's topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Discussion
Hey Mike I just checked back on my notes, I started at 275g with a new blade when cutting greenstar vinyl (all colors)and the last setting I had wrote down was 305g as the blade was dull. Hope that helps. Oh and I seam to stay right around 4 to 500 as the fastest I like to cut but as goose said slower is better on small letters and such.
