Digital Printed Vinyl Graphics. (using home desktop printer)

I now have my Epson 1400 and debating which CIS to buy. Pigment or Dye? If you have a CIS for your 1400, where did you buy it. I checked out the few on eBay and just not feeling it with some of those sellers. I want good ink and I'm afraid I'll end up with a China Cheapy. -

New job to complete. Internally lit sign 40" square 2 sided. Exterior sign about 15' up. An old Marathon gas station sign. Customer wants to remove the standard blue plastic thats on there now and replace with white. 3 color graphic and text, simple weed and layers on the graphic which is 20"x30". Only a small portion of the graphic will be vinyl on vinyl. I'll apply to substrate and he will do the install. Could someone point me towards where to purchase the new substrate from. Acrylic or Poly? I'm not sure as this is my first illuminated sign. Guessing on using Oracal 8500 for this. Please chime in with where you buy your substrate from and I'm in Ohio if anyone close wants to throw in what they would charge. Nobody around me to call and price compare. JC Edit: Just did some online searching and found Colored Cast Acrylic Opaque white, and polypropylene translucent white. What do you think of this stuff (I don't have a picture of it yet) Anyone use it before? Opaque probably won't let enough light out im guessing?

Nice job -
Nope Fire, alcohol doesn't work. Just made the same mistake the other day. Had an old grease pencil laying around from a recent tile job in our mud room so I thought I'd give it a try. Big mistake. I tried just about everything I had laying around except for acetone and laquer thinner (was afraid to hurt the banner with that stuff). I got lucky as it was a banner for my mothers seniors group so I just flipped it over and used the other side. You couldn't see the perfectly center red grease line down the back. Moto

Thanks everyone for the tips. I used confess's approach and quickly found out what FireMalt was talking about. It was quite a challenge to layer. Luckily for me it was only 12" long. 2nd, 3rd and 4th attempt went much better. Customer is happy, made 3 for him. Moto

Nabbed it too! Thanks

My first paying job came off of that CD. Paid for itself 4000% 2 days after it arrived.
