Good point - poorly written by me... I was trying to convey that it potentially has the ability to exactly solve that issue.... I have one prototype of many so far that has my preferred adhesive tact and the right blend of flexibile vs. rigid play...

its not lifting offf after the cut
Brandon_Davis replied to tony853's topic in Creation PCUT Cutting Plotter Discussion
This is a creation so first thing you should do is check that the blade holder tightening screw is not over tightened so that it is rubbing into carriage cover... This happens all the time - not so tight guys! -
Ramy ... That is a situation I have found many in and this would exactly help you with that - potentially.

Yeah actually this is a question I have had personally... I never understood what the point of those tiny carrier sheets was. I personally developed my own carrier sheet and came up with a catchy name - Les Lewis and I are trying to develop it for sale on USCUTTER.COM A full size carrier sheet with an adhesive that can hold an release paper or cloth... For now, yes you have to use the small sheets from the 5k-40

Yes and No... Down here at US Cutter we can provide you with a flashed firmware chip that should work on your board - It might be a better idea to buy a new board entirely to ensure proper function... Let me get back to you later today on this one. -

still no luck with CR630 and vista or SBE
Brandon_Davis replied to sjane_xoxo's topic in Creation PCUT Cutting Plotter Discussion
I think you might want to look at a different cutting software... -SignCutPro.com - A free download - "Trial Period" -SignBlazer - A free download from support.uscutter.com -Flexi Starter - This will cost you - it is available from lots of online retail sites Whatever you do grab Inkscape from Inkscape.org and use that to design in. Inkscape is free and you can import your jobs into SignBlazer or SignCutPro... I am sure lots of other guys have good input too - I am just not a big Artcut fan. -

Overclocked my computer now causing cutter to lose connection?
Brandon_Davis replied to Raw7's topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Support Requests
The diagonal line drag is a common symptom of a bad logic board however I really want to review your port settings and software settings... Sometimes the symptoms you are describing create a false positive for a bad logic board thats why we like to do a remote session and really drill into your settings. By the way - don't test with vinyl - use paper and a pen adapter... Maybe you don't have a pen or paper for your cutter - alright just pull the blade and send the cut - Will the cutter do the same diagonal crazy action, yes! Will it do the same "Waiting" yes... Give me a call tommorow if you can 1-888-298-8143 x7113 - I will get you into a session with myself or one of US Cutter's finest. -
Overclocked my computer now causing cutter to lose connection?
Brandon_Davis replied to Raw7's topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Support Requests
BannerJohn is very correct about the serial connection being far more secure.... He is also correct about not really needing the speed that USB provides. That being said if you use USB you just need to secure your cables so that they are not yanked or have so much tension on them that they slowly wear out the tightness of the fixture. USB can last a long time but it can be delicate. However if you trip over a firmly screwed down serial connection be ready to buy a whole new machine when it comes crashing down on you... LoL -
Overclocked my computer now causing cutter to lose connection?
Brandon_Davis replied to Raw7's topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Support Requests
The USB connector on your laserpoint, does it appear firm and lacking any kind of play what-so-ever... What happens over time, especially if any accidents with the cable have occured - ripping out / tripping on the cable ... Well if the connection is loose or has play in it during a normal cut job the vibration from the cutters operation slowly jiggles the connector out of place with the contacts or causes intermitent disconnects. This issue is possibly purely physical and has nothing to do with your computer, one of the true downsides to the USB connection. What I would like you to do is setup the cutter as you normally would... Open up the Device Manager on your system and expand the ports section so that you can see the USB Serial adapter .. Now execute the cut - if during the cut - the device dissapears from both the device manager and SignCut then this is very likely the issue. If you want to review this information with one of US Cutter's finest please give us a call - 1-888-298-8143 -

First and foremost can you shoot me a reply with your speed and force settings + what program are you using to cut with... Anyway you can take a picture of one of the offending edges and post it here. Also do you just have the one blade and did you at first have it over exposed so that it penetrated the cut strip?

Thanks Cindy, The community here does a lot to keep it up and flowing... Welcome to the board.
