Shipping Confirmation with No Tracking Number?
NinjaEpisode posted a topic in Website and Company Feedback
Hello gang, Ordered an 871 a few days ago off of e-bay and I received a shipping confirmation telling me to track my shipment through SellTopia by following some provided links, however there were no provided links? Am I missing something? Order # 21432 Thanks! -
Brilliant! Thanks Aaron!

I would love to know this trick.

I'm new here and all, and I'm all for a sense of community and helping others, and I've been doing my own graphics etc., but I gotta agree with several comments here. One of you guys could on the other hand quite possibly make a little bit of cash to start charging for your talents so when someone comes along and needs 10 logos vectorized, they'd realize pretty quick that it's better to learn to do it themselves vs. taking advantage of someone elses time and money. Someone in another thread mentioned all the "new" folks that are getting into the business and getting out of the business as a result. Sorry TriState, but with requests like this, they've got nothing to worry about. If you want to survive, you need to learn the tools of the trade.

No worries, my wife keeps my balls in a jar on the fireplace mantle, I'd just go ahead and do it if I were you seeing as how she already owns them.

I dunno, but I'm suddenly hungry.

On cutting the USB cable, not a good idea. Maximum length is rated to around 5 meters or so. You'll actually have to get a powered USB cable to extend the cable that far. You can do it with powered USB hubs as well, but for 60' you're looking at a 3 or 4 powered USB hubs along the route. You're almost better off putting a second PC out where your cutter is and runnning ethernet to network the two together and share files.

Hey Joe, can you e-mail those to me as well?
-
I like both of those! We have a place on a channel that spans two lakes and I've resorted to buying cheapy airhorns and letting them off when someone is going to fast through the channel just because I'm tired of yelling at folks.

So lemme ask a basic "dumb" question that I'm sure others are wondering as well. When you're cutting to that fine of a level, under .5", is it safe to assume that the weeding on those isn't exactly a clean rip of the unused material and you're spending at least "some" time actually very carefully pulling up the material?

Ever used a J-Roller? Similar to what you'd use to roll out laminate with. Same concept, except you could use the roller to roll out bubbles in theory.

What a funny coincidence! I've got a Dell Mini 9 that I've been running OSX on and decided to dress it up! Sorry for the crummy cell phone pic.

I had this same exact issue last night. I did do the packing-tape trick, but have already gone and ordered a roll of clear just to be safe. Figure I'll use the paper app tape for single color and keep the clear for multi-color applications.

Looks awesome! Oh, and you can just tell peeps the "speckled" look is a "weathered" effect.

I wouldn't disagree, but you know, I kinda want to *make* money.

Potential client has the entire house wallpapered floor to ceiling and wants to know if vinyl can be applied safely to wallpaper. I've no idea. I'd go with Oracal 631, but I've not idea if a.) it will stick and b.) it can be removed. Anybody have any experience or ideas? If it were up to me, I'd tell her to get rid of the wallpaper, but alas, she'd probably give me the boot as well.
-
yep, that's exactly what she wants. The wallpaper is a basic cream color, nothing fancy, but she wants to keep it.

These are metal substrate. Did these for our lakehouse which we're renting out to vacationers this year so decided we need to be a little responsible. This is my first time cutting anything with the MH-871 other than just test cuts. I've gotta say, a 60 degree blade makes a WORLD of difference. I need to learn how to use SignBlazer, or maybe move to Flexi, to remove the areas of black that go behind the red so that I don't have overlapping vinyl. I'm not thrilled with the way it gives me "lumps" where the two overlap. That, and either I'm doing it wrong, or, it's just that the 871 can't efficiently cut below 1/2" size lettering without having some problems. Dunno, it's probably just me and my being new to this.

What you need to do is find a Atari Joystick image and use it. Talk about iconic. Everybody knows the Atari joystick. Nice Job!

I'll try and get it converted to EPS for you tonight when I get home if someone hasn't done it by then.
